Incredibly Lebanese food! Babaganush was amazing, and gyro wrap was loaded with meat. Only reason not 5 stars: both recent visits, it took waiters too long to pick up check

My friend and I were about to eat at the Byblos in the food court at the mall, but we decided to go to a restaurant instead. I mentioned that I saw this new little place on Severn and we should go support a new restaurant. I was shocked when I walked in to see that it is actually an «upscale» mediterranean place. Being in the corner of the strip mall and with a name like«Hummus & More», I was expecting it to be very casual. I think they made a poor name choice. Anyway, I ordered a chicken shawarma Greek salad and my friend ordered the chicken kabobs. The salad was different than what I am use to and different than what I would have gotten at Byblos. The lettuce was spinach leaves which actually made the salad very filling. The chicken shawarma wasn’t sliced it was similar to the kabobs but very good and a very nice portion. My friend liked her kabobs and we both thought her french fries were delicious(and I usually don’t comment on the taste of french fries lol). Service was good. The prices were fair for the quality of the food, but I found it to be a little more expensive than I would have liked for a quick meal with my friend. I would go back here more for a date night. I’m hoping the place survives since the well established Albasha is only a block or two away.

So happy this place opened up. A lot more convenient for my family and I than Byblos. Chicken shawarma had a huge portion of chicken, with great seasoning and flavor. Loved it!

I love Mediterranean food, and this is the best I’ve had in years. I ordered a cup of chicken soup as a starter, and it was surprisingly delicious. My entrée was the beef kebab with rice and Greek salad. The beef was tender and delicious, and although I’m not much of a salad eater, I devoured the whole thing! I wasn’t expecting much, but when I walked in, I was impressed to see that the interior has been completely redone, and looks very nice. Overall, the service was friendly, food was excellent, and for the quality of the food it was very reasonably priced. I’m looking forward to going back to try some other menu items.

Excellent fresh Mediterranean food & good service. This is the old Mr Gyros location and everything is much better than its predecessor.

I used to work close by this restaurant; this is the kind of place I would take coworkers out for lunch if they weren’t too sure about Mediterranean food and all I really wanted was shawarma. The hummus was bland, and the kabob was okay. I appreciated that grape leaves were available as a side; they were my favorite part of the meal. The cheese eggrolls were an interesting concept. I was expecting feta wrapped in filo, but they actually were fried in eggroll wrappers. The combination of these with a sweet sauce was pretty good.

The restaurant business is one of the hardest businesses in the US to get started in and survive in. Unless there was offensive service and horrible food, rather than trying to hurt someone’s livelihood, it would be better to simply refrain from a review at all. Even though this place has only been open for about 2 months, it provided a great experience. The food was amazing, much better than most Mediterranean food I’ve had in the area. It was rich and very flavorful. All of it was cooked to my liking and I ate until I couldn’t eat anymore. Every single item we had from the appetizers to desert was INCREDIBLE and we tried a lot of different items. It was done from family recipes and you could tell that they put a lot of care into it. The service was also nothing short of AMAZING. The timing was great. The wait staff was very knowledgable and thoroughly explained what all went into the recipes and meals. They even wrote down ingredients for me that they thought I would like to keep at home, simply by observing my selection. They were also very kind, welcoming, and appreciative of us being there. They made us feel very at home and treated us like friends even though we had just met them. This is the essence of what makes a small family owned restaurant feel great. I will recommend this place to as many people as I can and will certainly return.

Unfortunately, this place isn’t much of a standout amongst the plethora of other Mediterranean restaurants in the area. The service was pretty bad. We were sat and not attended to for a good 10 minutes. Finally, someone came over, and we ordered the chicken schwarma platter. I was taken back when it described this as «chicken tenders,» but decided to give it a go anyways. When our food came out, it was a good portion for the price(around 13 bucks at lunch). The chicken was indeed little pieces of chicken tender, not the usual chicken pulled from a spitfire. It had similar seasoning, but nothing can replace that traditional chicken! Their house salad was really good and their hummus was good, not great. They offered both whole wheat and white pita. I probably will not go back here, since they have many other places to get your Mediterranean fix around these parts. They might just be working out the kinks of a new restaurant, or at least I hope!

How has this restaurant not been reviewed by anyone yet? Are they that new? Is it because they are such a tiny hole in the wall in the corner of an L shaped restaurant? Is it because there are so many other reviewed Mediterranean restaurants nearby? I don’t know the reason why, but I will happily review. The staff inside seemed confused when I walked in and asked what I wanted. I stated that I saw the sign on the street, pulled in and noticed the hours on the door indicating they were open, and I wanted to eat something. There was one other table occupied, I was told to seat myself, so I picked a corner table to be able to watch. The waitress brought water, took my order. The food came quickly, and was warm. Why only three stars? Despite the fact that the interior was neat and clean as was the restroom, the service was just lacking something. I can’t quite put my finger on what was wrong. I’m not sure that I will be back.
