Pros and Cons of House of the Rising Sun: First the Pros-Good location and reasonable priced. Neighborhood was convenient to explore French Quarter and attend the convention center. Now the Cons-Breakfast was marginal, got mysterious bug bites, and Kevin was not the friendliest host.

Great, cozy, and convenient! The room we stayed in was clean and the bed was very comfortable also had a connected bathroom. Owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. The location is great if you would like to stay out of the city with access to the ferry(one block away). The neighborhood is very safe which was out number one concern. If you are looking for a convenient B&B then this is it!

I first stayed at the House of the Rising Sun Bed and Breakfast back in 2010 when my home was being remodeled in New Orleans. In order to attend events and functions in the city we would often stay with Kevin and Wendy at the HRS. Kevin greeted us warmly upon arrival and we were always happy to see Boudin the wonder dog! Kevin is a expert at New Orleans and Jazz History and will be happy to chat with you or share his favorite spots around town. Every place he recommended has begun a regular in our rotation! The HRS is in a beautiful and historic shotgun home and is a truly wonderful place to wake up and hop on the short ferry ride over to the French Quarter! If your searching for a home away from home look no further than the House of the Rising Sun!

Kevin and Wendy are very helpful in telling you where to find the hot spots in New Orleans. Boudin(their dog) is sweet and playful. A comfortable free ferry ride across the river drops you off a the aquarium next to Harrah’s which is a short 10 min walk to the French Quarter.
