Holmes One Stop was just down the road from a house I was working on in New Orleans. As many of the businesses in the area were closed or abandoned, Holmes became the place we went to eat for lunch each day. Mr. Holmes was a very friendly fellow who even offered us his place to rest and clean up before heading home each day. The waitress Ms. Brenda was delightful. She made our days more enjoyable and always welcomed us with a smile. Holmes’ has a small menu each day with daily specials. We were always full and the food was fresh. While they kind of cut us a break because they were happy we came all the way from NY to aid in the rebuilding of a local’s home, the prices were good to begin with. Holmes is one of those neighborhood places that you hope stays around for generations.
