This cemetery was founded in 1872 and is supposedly the largest Jewish cemetery in the area. and is spread out over three city blocks, though I have only walked through one of them so far. I have driven by this several times and have always been impressed with how well maintained it is. I have also seen a funeral or two happening here, which is always awe-inspiring. I like how the gates are open every morning, closed every evening. This is no famous cemetery, no Metairie or one in the garden district, but beautiful nonetheless. I like how there is a covered area within the cemetery with benches and tables. It is a very peaceful setting.
