I did the Grayline swamp tour soon after my arrival in New Orleans after my B&B hostess had recommended this. I purchased the ticket at the toulouse street ticket office and the member of staff that served me wasn’t particularly friendly. After boarding the coach a small party of us set out into the bayous/swamps near New Orleans. The tour was about about 4 hours long and was quite interesting. We got to see some of the surrounding areas before reaching the swampy areas and on arrival at the swamp we were all boarded onto a big open boat which gently chugged its way through winding rivers and bayous. We saw all manner of creatures including some crocs. Back on dry land we were invited to view some of the captive animals(my least favourite part of the tour) and were also given a talk on the nature and history of the area and swamps. It was a fairly interesting way to spend half a day and I’m glad I did it although probably wouldn’t bother again.
