I have only tried this buffet 3 times to know that I will be coming here with my family; in the future at least twice a week. The price for the dinner menu is simply too cheap! It’s only $ 13 for all you can eat fresh Louisiana flavored boiled seafood(crawfish, crab legs, shrimp, and many more). Their bbq pork ribs are also absolutely delicious. Their sushi chef is very talented in creating many cute yet tasty rolls. The hibachi bar gives me a lot of options to choose from. After my meal, I throughly enjoyed the wide selection of fruits and dessert. The watermelons were so fresh and juicy. Not only was the food good, the service was AMAZING! The waitresses were very attentive and nice. They refilled my drink when it was half full. They always say please and serve with a smile. The man that makes the hibachi is a very good looking man that serves with a smile. He talks with a wonderful friendly and kind tone. My family and I feel very welcomed to this wonderful family buffet. This will be my standard place to eat with my family. We highly suggest people to try this place. Do not be turned off by the low ratings. This place is a truly hidden gem in the city of New Orleans!

A cheap buffet, and really — you get what you pay for. That said, if you are on a budget, you can eat yourself sick on cheap Americanized Asian cuisine and feel no shame. I have had better buffets for the price, and if you are willing to pay a little more, there are definitely much better places to eat in the neighborhood. Would not recommend, but will probably be back to eat my feelings.

This place is a bit far away but it’s always worth the travel. The prices aren’t bad and the buffet selection is halfway impressive. I have no complaints but nothing to write home about either. I’m sure I will continue to come back.

Good food and lunch prices are reasonable. Kind of the typical buffet but our food has always been good and fresh there. Good service and it’s a good quick lunch. The cheese Rangoons are good and the pan fried dumplings are delicious!

I’ve eaten here a handful of times and its your basic factory made Chinese buffet items that get reheated for the most part. The service has always been attentive and they get your drink refilled promptly. The food just doesn’t have a lot of flavor and isn’t the best quality. I probably won’t return as the quantity just doesn’t get me past the low quality of the food.

I don’t know why I continue to punish myself with the occasional visit to this place, but I always end up the same way, extremely disappointed. The sub-par food appears to be selections from the Heat and Serve list from Sysco’s Asian menu. I don’t know why I should expect more from this place, or any Asian Buffet, for that matter, but I do. The dinner is around $ 13 with a drink(which I find to be HIGH for what is available) and don’t even get me started on the noise level. When we arrived, the shrieks of a crying baby bellowed through the entire place. It even felt like the staff was doing what they could do to match the child’s screams with their own racket. Their sushi selections are sparse, and Mongolian BBQ is a joke. I kind of feel like the owners/managers stopped caring a long long time ago, and just kinda hope the money and the customers, begrudgingly continue to come in. It is difficult, but I’m able to discuss 2 redeeming qualities about this place: 1) the waitresses are always very nice and fairly attentive, and 2) the Muzak is pretty entertaining. I often try to play a game of «name that tune» and do fairly well with songs spanning the genres and years. So if this review helps deter you from grubbing here, good! If it just alerts the owners/managers to the shortcomings, great! Either way, for the money, you’d do better off staying at home and Having breakfast for dinner… JS…

13 dollar buffet. the granulated-sugar covered donuts were amazing. the rest was standard, chicken and broccoli was decent, canned fruit dessert line not so much. the largely overweight clientele that surrounded me at buffet-time was kind of a put off. reminder of why buffets are not necessarily good things, although i did appreciate being able to get up and get another sugar donut. overall: the best thing to eat there isn’t chinese-related at all, sushi was pretty good.

$ 13 dollars for a dinner buffet that has cold food and sushi that would have sucked moisture from the Sahara Desert… A great selection of food, either work harder at keeping it warm or decrease the selection so that it’s above room temperature. Waitress was really friendly, which earned this place two stars vice the one that my stomach wants to leave it.

I have only been here once but will not go back. Reasons to go: 1) It is conveniently close to the Academy shopping center near the Hampton. 2) It might be the only buffet within 15 miles that you can escape food poisoning. 3) Service from the waitress was pretty good. She kept my water glass full and cleaned the trays quickly Reasons to avoid: 1) It is $ 12 for the dinner price. It is worth the lunch price of $ 8. 2) Some of the food was cold. 3) Some of the food was left under the lamps too long and was chewy 4) The honey chicken tasted like it was dipped in the same glaze they use to preserve fruit cakes with. 5) I don’t know what they stuff their shrimp with, but it’s not what the rest of the country stuffs shrimp with. 6) The chocolate cake tasted like a fig newton dug out of the back seat of a Ford Pinto 7) Imagine your brother-in-law playing very familiar tunes from the 60s-80s on his $ 80 keyboard… that was the ambiance music and it was above a proper background level

There isn’t really a lot of choice when it comes to Chinese in the Harahan area. Since this is near work and I wanted some Asian but didn’t want to do sushi again, I wound here for lunch one day. It’s a buffet, and you’ll get exactly what you expect. The standard dishes are there, but nothing is really special or stands out. The small sushi selection is a couple or rolls with nothing marked as to what it is. I didn’t try the hibachi set up, it didn’t look particularly appetizing. I know I’m not painting the best picture of this place, but it’s a buffet where you get your $ 8 worth. It’s cheap, mass produced, and not bad tasting.

I give it a 3 star. There was not a lot of items as you might expect in Chinese buffet. But, I think they have quite a lot. Their food is good. The waiters are nice.

A group of us at work decided to go out to eat, about a week ago. They chose Grand Buffet, because apparently«it’s good!» These are all native New Orleanians, so I understand. There really isn’t a lot of good, authentic Chinese food to choose from in the area. Here is my opinion, though — Grand Buffet is another cookie-cutter Americanized Chinese buffet. You get the staples, like fried rice, lo mein, general tso’s chicken, soup, a salad bar, pizza(because this is necessary in Chinese cuisine), etc. They have some sushi at the back, and some sort of cross between Mongolian BBQ and Hibachi — pick your meats/veg and get them to cook it for you. Be sure to tip for this. It’s buffet food, so in my mind, I really can’t give it more than 3 stars anyway. You get to choose from mass-produced sugary, salty, fatty items… some of which have been sitting around longer than others. It gets 2 stars because everyone in my party had to wait a very, very long time for drink refills and for our plates to be cleared. That, and I had to ask twice for chopsticks(note: they are available by the sushi — I was unaware when I asked).
