We were visiting and staying at an Airbnb rental down the street and stopped in here for items to make breakfast. The store is pretty well stocked and we grabbed eggs, bread and«bacon». The prices are a little high but, it’s a local grocer so you are supporting local and it’s a convenience factor if you are near here. The quality of the products was a bit disappointing because some of the eggs were bad in the package, the bread was a bit stale and the«bacon» was definitely not bacon. It wasn’t even baconesque! It was more like corned beef or something related to ham. I’m really unsure and we still discuss what it was two months later. Maybe it was just an off day!

These guys are the best. They will remember you after just a couple visits. In town for just a week, we’ve been stopping a few times a day for liquor, beer, limes, mixers… they turned the radio up when one of my friends started dancing in the aisles :)

Esplanade Mini Mart has kept my sanity during Tropicane Isaac and the four and continuing days and nights of no power. When ive needed a cold water, some zapps, a six pack or just a friendly face, its the place I’ve gone. These guys(& gal) have pulled 20 hour plus shifts to keep us all hydrated, fed, and away from the brink. Much love!

These guys are top notch fellows that provide a great service to the neighborhood. Recently they decided to hire a new guy who likes to use racial slurs towards customers and give incorrect change to customers things went downhill. I’ve always been greeted by the gentlemen who own the place and now I think its safe to say I’d rather bring my business elsewhere.

I visit this den of roll broiled hot dogs, chewing gum and tall boys at least 3 days a week. The homies behind the counter are always sweet and saying/doing something funny and the people watching can’t be beat! PROS: — A LOT of food/candy/drinks/household items packed into this small store. — Powerball tickets! — Every type of chewing gum you could ever imagine. Somehow, someway, I think they have more than Walmart. — They now have Red Bull Zero. — Fresh donuts(in the mornings) not so fresh at night. — Roll broiled hotdogs. — A clean restroom that they don’t mind you using if you’re just stopping by doing the pee pee dance. CONS: — Not 24⁄7 — Can get a little sketchy/crowded during the high holidays; Mardi Gras, Halloween, Decadence etc.

It’s the closest thing to me and so I stop in often. The people there are always very nice to me, so I don’t mind that the prices are mini-mart expensive. They have a good selection of basic needs(soap, laundry detergent, paper goods), beer and liquor. They also have a small selection of ready-to-eat food and even a frozen section(that included some Amy’s organic?!). To me, saving a few dollars, walking further and having people who are rude doesn’t make any sense, so it’s really nice to have this right around the corner.

Where do I start, I love this business. I used to live within walking distance so I was here almost every day. They have a little bit of everything. For the location everything is surprisingly well priced. A few items I frequently purchase from them are fresh lemons and limes, alcohol, scratchers, eggs and dog bones. I love the staff, they may seem disengaged at first but go a few times and they’ll recognize and take care of you.
