Emeril’s Delmonico steakhouse has a great décor and ambiance to it. Wine list is extensive to the point that there is a table of contents to it. Steak, however, just doesn’t live up to what you expect for a high-end steakhouse. While the steak was good, it wasn’t exceptional. They also plate it with way too much garlic butter and that detracts from the natural flavor the meat should provide. The crab remoulade here was very good, though. Cornbread was average. Service is also good. Overall, though, you can get better steak at a better price elsewhere.

Came here for dinner with my work colleague and I was not disappointed! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the southern hospitality of New Orleans that I seldom find in Southern CA. We got a table right away and then we had 2 servers come to our table and explained the menu and specials for the day. We got the Bbq shrimps as our appetizer and it was out of bounds. The sauce was indescribable. I got the fish of the day which was snapper in bouillabaisse broth and my goodness, it was soooo delicious. I loved the crispness of the skin and the fish melts in your mouth. The broth was to die for. It had enough spice and saltiness just plain YUMMY! Then we finish off our meal with the coffee crème bullee and it was the perfect dessert to cap off a great dinner. Would highly recommend this place to those looking for great food and service without really breaking your bank. Even if it did break, it’s worth every penny! So make sure to try this place out coz you will not regret it.

Dined tonight with a group of about 16 coworkers. Service and food were both fantastic! I highly recommend the Crispy Pork Cheek appetizer. Fantastic experience from the time we arrived until the time we left. Cocktails are fantastic too!

Emeril’s Delmonico restaurant is truly a dining experience. The food would be the obvious statement for eating at this establishment, but I would have to argue that the people who work there are the true stars. Senior Captain Francisco Dusan and his wait team attended to our every need. He made great recommendations. My colleagues and I were in NOLA for a conference so we were out on the town to have a great time and a lot of fun. Captain Dusan had a wonderful sense of humor starting with a great smile and a willingness to joke around with us. He even played along when asked(probably for the millionth time), «Is Emeril preparing our food tonight?» Without missing a step he replied, «He is cooking tomorrow night!» We all laughed knowing he was pulling our leg. That personal touch made the difference for us. I will also state that the wait staff frequently came to the table with warm smiles and were very pleasant to talk to us. Our food was hot, seasoned well and lived up to all of our expectations of eating in a five star restaurant. If you have the opportunity to experience Emeril’s Delmonico restaurant in NOLA, please don’t pass it up. Remember to ask for Senior Captain Dusan’s table, you will not regret it. He is the best!

I was underwhelmed by the food. The Caesar salads we started with were tiny and tasteless(I like a nice garlicky, lemony Caesar dressing). Cornbread was fine, nothing special. My partner got a steak, which he really enjoyed. It was cooked correctly, but in my opinion it was just… a steak. I had the bacon and mushroom smothered pork chop. It was also cooked to a good temperature and wasn’t nearly as heavy and rich as the name suggests. We shared the Brussels sprouts and roasted cauliflower sides. Neither of which were very good. Brussels sprouts were overly vinegary. Cauliflower was under-cooked. I make better vegetables at home. I had the house Cabernet, which was not good at all. Switched to a different wine for my second glass. We shared the hummingbird bread pudding for dessert. It was fine. The banana ice cream was very good. Had a light, natural banana flavor. Our bill came to $ 160. Overpriced for underwhelming food. The server also stopped my frequently while we were eating and stayed to talk for several minutes each time. I prefer that the staff let me eat in peace. I would not go back or recommend to anyone.

I have to preface this review by stating that the food was awesome, the service top notch and the selection second to none… sad how a waiter can take it from 5 stars to one star, but you won’t believe this when I tell you. I was there(so Emeril’s can check) on 3⁄21 @ 6:15 with a party of 11 folks, we dined through the kitchen and up the back stairs in a small room. I was the host. The waiter figured out soon that it was a business dinner and we were at a fine dining establishment without a budget for dinner. He was pushing $ 1250 bottles of wine on my guest, suggesting it strongly. When my guest(thankfully) said that was way out of his range, the waiter dialed in the $ 200-$ 300 bottles(still a little rich for a party of 11) My guest again said that he thought those were a bit high for a group of this size. The waiter proceeded to tell me(actually pointed to) the two options my guess had selected($ 145 per bottle and $ 160 per bottle) Perplexed that any guest would order such(we weren’t on a govt blank check dinner tab) what was I to do…4−5 bottles later, I paid the price. Each person who ordered dinner was upsold by «adding crab» to that. highly suggested by waiter, he even told people how all others were doing that. I too accepted his offer of «extra crab» on my drum fish.(which was to come with crab on top) When I got my fish… I had no crab, let alone extra. My guest to my right also had«extra crab» to not receive anything but a shread that you could barely see… thankfully this was only an $ 8 upgrade if I remember correctly. No one really wanted dessert, but the waiter pushed that on… also asking who would like some«Louie» for an after dinner drinks(on the menu for $ 125 per) I was flabbergasted. My bill was about $ 1300 and I did the right thing and tipped 20%(almost $ 300) as the service and food was THAT good… just the upselling made me sick. I dined at many fine establishments while in New Orleans(GW Fins was my favorite) and also at Commander Palace… neither of those did such upselling. I had a very unpleasant experience with the GM of Emerils after posting my review on Unilocal.First, I got an automated email that was so canned, I found if offensive. Then the reply to my post asked for my phone number or email so that the GM could«send me something». I replied with my email. After such, the GM asked for my home address as he wanted to send me something, I stated I wasn’t comfortable giving out my home address and he turned like a lion. Rude, short, condescending and was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If you check my Unilocal reviews, you’ll find that I often dine in finer establishments Emeril’s will never get another dime out of me due to the rudeness of the GM at this location in New Orleans.

I was pleasantly surprised. Normally, I’m skeptical of celebrity chef outposts. But our dinner at Emeril’s was delicious and the service incredibly friendly and solicitous. Just a delightful restaurant. Having said that, I wouldn’t stray too far from the drum meuniere. It is a stunning, stunning, dish — meaty, and piquant and buttery. I could eat it every day. If you do want a steak, order the ribeye. It is much superior to the NY strip that I also tried — just not even close. Of course, the restaurant does a lot of the tableside-type New Orleans cooking. Even though I’m not sure it does a heck of a lot for the flavor, I really enjoy the theatre. So make sure to at least get some delicious bananas foster to finish up.

One of famous chef Emeril Legasse’s restaurants in Uptown New Orleans. Food: If I recall, they specialize in steaks here(The delmonico cut being developed by Chef Emeril specifically for this restaurant, or at least served here). On my visit, however, we sat at the bar and had appetizers. To my understanding, happy hour prices no longer exist, but we went on of the last days it was offered. As a result, I have to say that the price versus quality was out the ballpark awesome. It saddens me that they discontinued the offers. I suppose they receive enough business without such. I cannot regularly afford the non-happy hour prices, so it may be a while before I can go again. All the small plates we ordered were delicious. 3 stars(bumping it down one star because of the loss of value with happy hour no longer) Service:(Disclaimer: one of the bartenders is an acquaintance) Pretty on spot, and friendly. Dressed well, with little wait between order and food or drinks being served. 4 stars Facilities: An older building near the Pontchartrain Expressway end of St. Charles Avenue. There is limited parking on side streets, and valet service is available. The inside is a bit snug, but nicely decorated. The bar can only seat 3 or 4 comfortably. It was clean. 3 stars Overall: I suggest you make reservations and go in expecting to spend a chunk of change. Still, I recommend you try it out once, if only to have some of Chef Emeril’s famous dishes. 3 stars

I would not rec this restaurant to a friend it was overpriced for what it was. We had to walk through the kitchen to get to our room. The exit was blocked by a table of eight. Had there been a kitchen fire, I’m not sure how that we’ve worked out. The room was freezing and very loud, once the room was mostly seated. The service started out very attentive, but once the room was full we waited a long time for our entrée(other tables arriving after us with larger groups for served before us). The appetizer on green tomato was excellent. But, the salmon was almost raw in the middle. The steak was quite rare, although ordered medium. The Brussels sprouts vinegary. Meh…

I have eaten here a few times. The vegetarian options consist of pasta and some steamed veggies. The non-veg is okay but way tooooo salty. Last meal I had the andouille was definitely spoiled and l was paying for it the next day!

This place is amazing… every aspect of the experience was above par. Very friendly and truly enjoyable staff, impeccable dining etiquette, and delicious food. We were staying in the French Quarter and opted to take a streetcar to the Garden District for dinner based on what I had heard about this restaurant. It was a spectacular evening and our favorite night of the trip by far! Favorites: Gnocchi(sauce is so good), Drum(to die for), and Cookies(drink the vanilla bean milk).

Been to Delmonico’s a few times, albeit several years apart… and it was perfection — as usual. Hit up GW Fins last night and K-Paul’s the night before, but Emeril’s blows them away every time. Lounge made me an Ol’ Fashioned with muddled raspberries(upon request) to get warmed up — hit the spot! Wife had fuzzy navel and a mimosa. Appetizers: Crab remick — my new favorite crab dish of all time. Warm, rich, cheesy crab dip with bacon and toasted french bread… can’t go wrong. Then we had the shrimp stuffed mirliton. Delicious as well; savory and exceptional. Entrees: Wife & kids shared the 20 oz bone-in ribeye, medium rare… fantastic! I had red snapper with fingerling potatoes and mushrooms — fish was moist and flaky, accompanied with perfect sauce. Sides: whipped potatoes and green beans. Potatoes were smooth, creamy and slightly sweet. Green beans were crisp and delicious. Dessert: thought we would leave bummed out because we had our hearts set on the bananas foster. For some reason, they weren’t serving it for a few days and it was removed from the menu. Our waiter pulled some strings and made it for us in the back of house. When he said he made«the nastiest banana fosters in NOLA»…that’s a BOLD statement. It was f**kin’ awesome — just like I remembered it from years past. When he heard that I wanted the kids to experience that dessert, he made it happen. My man! I tell you what though — as spectacular as the food was… the service was impeccable! Ask for David if you can(captain waiter) and you’ll be delighted at his charisma, attention and genuine hospitality! Just enough conversation, followup that ensured nothing was left undone and a true ‘guest first’ mindset. Well done Delmonico management! If you’re looking for a fine meal, whether it’s a special occasion or not… I definitely recommend Emeril’s Delmonico. Couldn’t find one thing that missed being perfect. What a wonderful evening.

Delmonico’s offers the flavorful satisfaction that I have come to expect from Emeril. Each course was delectable, and the setting was quintessential New Orleans fine dining. My only wish was for some more seasoned waitstaff. Everyone seemed to be in their 20’s, and the overall lack of experience showed. Our bread came after the appetizers, the waiter rattled off the specials in a fast monotone. Overall, the timing just seemed a bit off. Other than the service, the experience was special. The food will bring us back.

Emeril’s Demonico is a revelation. From the service to décor, from the food to the wine list, this is a definite stop for anyone looking for good food and a dining experience to remember. I ordered off the Reveillon menu, a special set menu for December, which really gets a lot of flavor and fresh ingredients packed into small portions and many courses. The Mississippi Rabbit Crêpe with Tasso and Sweet Potato was out of this world,. Since I did snitch from friends as well, I can attest to the fact that their fish entrees are all balanced, fresh, and paired with sauces that are sure to please. Also, you must get a side order of mushrooms with your meal. They are buttery and delicious, and this is coming from someone who doesn’t particularly like mushrooms! Speaking of butter, the most moist, wonderful, buttery cornbread also comes with your meal. Overall my experience was wonderful, but I would offer a few suggestions to enhance your experience: 1) Call in a reservation. 2) Skip dessert here. None of the ones I tried were anything to write home about despite the staff raving about some.(I think they really need to hire a pastry chef). 3) Be prepared for good service, and by that I mean they will let you take your time, relax, and really stake your claim at the table. If you are expecting that«Wham, bam, thank you ma’am» kind of service that is so popular in American you will be highly disappointed.(We used to call it Turn and Burn in the restaurant industry.) Here the staff will let you savor your meal and take your time. Ordering a set four-course meal, that was no surprise. Dinner took a wonderfully long time! 4) Take the St. Charles Streetcar. A taxi gets you there fast, but it is an unnecessary expense. If you don’t know where you are going, take a taxi there, but the streetcar back. The stop is right outside the door of Delmonico, and it costs $ 1.25 a person. Use correct change! Or get a Jazzy Pass — 1 day.

After having our fill of fried food, we tried Emeril’s Delmonico for a nice dinner out. After looking at the menu for this place and Emeril’s NOLA, we went with this one as it had a wider variety of entrees. Ambiance is warm and inviting with the most comfortable chairs ever. We sat on the second floor with tall ceilings, soft lighting, ceiling fans — everything that you think of when you think New Orleans. Service started a bit spotty as it took a few minutes for our waiters to come by to give us the menus. However, the service improved after that and our waiter(s) brought food out promptly. They have a full bar and a huge wine menu. You get cornbread to start off with. It’s flakey, crumbly, and moist. Not at all dry like cornbread can be. Needless to say, we ate it up fast. I got the salmon which was expertly cooked with crispy skin and tasted incredibly fresh. It was served on top of andouille, greens, black eyed peas, and a flavorful pan sauce. Great piece of fish complimented by some spice and heat from the andouille. My boyfriend got the chicken which was also amazing. We split a side of mushroom bordelaise as well which were a nice compliment but we had enough food without it. For desert, we split the turtle sundae which came with dulce de leche ice cream and brownie crumble on top. It was a traditional sundae but rich and creamy with a great sweet and salty combo. I could not get enough. All in all — a great meal with good ambiance. Def make a trip to Emeril’s when in NOLA. We are very happy we did!

Our second visit to Delmonicos was not as great as our first. Our server, Lloyd, didn’t seem to like us and wasn’t very friendly or informative. The dining room was freezing and we heard many comments from diners that they were cold. So I closed the curtains as much as I could behind me and that stopped one of the major drafts. Four diners thanked me. So we weren’t off to the best start. The grand charcuterie plate was great, as was the tomme d’estang cheese. The special foie gras was average. Our 6 oz. petite filet entrees were excellent. The whipped potatoes side was very good. My baked mac and cheese was so salty I couldn’t eat it. Lloyd did remove it from the bill without my having requested that. My biggest disappointment was the salted caramel doberge cake. I will be honest — this dessert was so exceptional the last time that we came for this one item. But this time the quality was poor. The cake was mushy and without distinct layers. We didn’t even finish half of the dessert and we shared. We won’t be back.

The food was spectacular here, but the amazing service even exceeded the ratings of the food. The entire dining experience was just delightful. There are good reasons why this place is always busy. We started our meal with the charcuterie boards, and every item was delicious. Mixing and matching the items created complex flavor profiles — the sweet seasonal flavors along with the brininess of the meats and pickles set off sensational bombs on my palate. It was a great way to start our meal. We also had the mussels as a starter, and it was delicious as well. The mussels were perfectly cooked, and the sauce had the sweetness from the wine and the essence from the ocean. The only complaint we had was that the mussels should have came with more baguettes to soak up the sauce, but our attentive waiter solved that issue. My friend and I both had the aged New York strip for our entrees, and we both agreed that our steaks were perfectly cooked with the right amount of sear. The steaks were well-rested and were juicy. The steaks were also cleaned well and had the perfect amount of fat. The steaks came with 4 types of sauces, but I didn’t use any of them because the steak was so beautiful on its own. It really didn’t need any adornments. We also shared several sides — the grits, the greens, sweet potatoes with candied pecans, and the French fries with lemon aioli. All of these sides were enjoyable, but my favorite was the sweet potatoes — so decadently delicious with the buttery, sugary goodness and candied pecans for added textural and flavor contrast. I also ordered the bread pudding with pineapple sherbet for dessert because I always have room for dessert. I probably could have eaten two of these bread puddings. I liked the caramelized pineapple that topped the bread pudding. It added a tropical and summery twist to a traditional item. The sherbet was also fresh and interesting. I think I made myself hungry by just writing this review and reliving the experience in my mind.
