Really wanted to like this place but the only thing that was good was the oyster /advocating stew and that was a shade above average. Definitely made with fresh oyster if the amount of shells and grit were any indication. Wife had their version of a muffuletta I had a rare hot roast beef PO boy. Roast beef was NOT rare and so thick you had to drink water to get it down. On a Saturday night half the place was closed so the front door was a chore in its self to get in and out. Service was stretched and service was like most other reviewers. I have a habit of checking Unilocal before going to most places but this was convenient after the parade; wish I had read up before going in

I love bloody Mary’s but I was completely disappointed with both the bloody Mary’s and service. The bloody Mary’s we’re $ 10 a piece and we’re basically straight up tobacco sauce and undrinkable. When we told our server that we couldn’t drink our bloody Mary’s because they were so spicy she said there wasn’t anything she could do about it. Later on the manager stayed that there wasn’t anything she could do because she wasn’t made aware of the situation. So $ 50 later plus our dinner bill we were completely unhappy with our service and felt disgusted with the entire place. I don’t recommend this place. Please find a better restaurant.

Went on a super slow, Tuesday night. All the food and drinks were delicious. I had the oyster shooter and char broiled oysters. Wife had a hurricane and jambalaya. All the food was flavorful, but not very hot, which is probably most appropriate for a tourist spot

Terrible. Male bartender was rude and forgot our order of wings. After 35 minutes I told him to cancel the order and id pay for my one beer –he told me I was wrong and it had only been 10 minutes and didn’t even try to comp my beer or apologize. The employees hardly paid anyone attention(except the host) and swarms of people kept coming in for drinks to go but this bartender and another woman had bad customer service. It was chaotic –this place survives off its location but sucks. Not worth it with jax across the street or basically any other option in the city.

The food looked good but the service horrendous. It took several minutes to get seated with a party of six because there was no host or hostess at their station Once seated it was several minutes before our waiter even showed up. We wanted only appetizers and small plates but we noticed that several smaller party’s of two and four and five which were seated after us were getting their food. We ordered beer and I ordered an oyster shooter and it took several minutes more than I thought to get our drink order. All of this was occurring as the establishment was beginning to clear out after what appeared to be the lunch crowd. and so after 30 minutes of waiting after we ordered in which many of the groups seated after us were not only eating their food but finishing up. And waiting about a hour after the crowd had left We decided to cancel our order with Lester and all he did was promptly provide us our bill. In fact this was the only thing he was prompt at. There was no manager to complain to and when we cancelled our order we promptly paid for our drinks in which I never got the oyster shooter. With so many good eating establishments in New Orleans this one should just go away if this is the type of service they provide.

Worst service in New Orleans. I am a tourist but visit often and OMG was the service a joke.

Nice ambience for a sports bar — tall windowed doors looking out onto Decatur St, historical exposed brick interior complemented by dark wood and copper table tops. My server, Patrice, was charming, attentive and very quick — truly top notch. I started with the oyster & artichoke soup which was wonderful — large chunks of artichoke, onion, celery and oyster. For the main course, I tried the bbq ribs — the meat was cooked to fall off the bone perfection, but the sauce was lackluster(a hint of smokiness, but otherwise flat without any kick or spiciness). All in all, a good place to grab a brew & some grub while taking in a game on one of the many TV screens.

I’ve never had a meal at the Corner Oyster House, unless you count a Bloody Mary as breakfast. I mean, it does have vegetables in it(plenty of spicy beans, pickled okra, etc.). Their Bloody is solid, but can actually be too intense with the spice at times, which can make it hard to finish. I suppose it could be that I shouldn’t wake up after a long night of drinking and start drinking a gigantic, spicy alcoholic beverage immediately. But that seems wrong when I say it out loud. Anyway, Corner Oyster House has nice bartenders,* decent Bloodies, it’s conveniently located, and I’ve never seen a line at the bar. You can do a lot worse.

Might be one of the worst sausages I’ve had in my life. I knew this would be a tourist spot but the food was truly just underwhelming. It felt undercooked and raw. However, the waiter was pretty friendly

Best oysters I’ve had in New Orleans. Both raw and chargrilled were amazing! They have great poboys too.

Group of 11 came here for lunch. Everyone loves their food, from poboys to the sampler plate everyone was happy. The Bloody Mary is good too!

I like this place and don’t get the bad reviews. It’s a sports themed bar with a great drink menu(the bloody mary is top 5 — made from scratch). Try the fried oysters, the omelettes. The po boy is good but you can’t eat it with your hands(is that the point?). The service is great, and the seating for food is comfortable. Great location right by Jax. Find your favorite team on the ceiling after you have a couple of bloodies and consequently fall over! Bathroom situation — clean, small.

My wife and I walked in after ten pm and we’re served promptly with courtesy and professionalism. The steak she ordered was 10 out of 10 for her and the Etouffe was really tasty as well that I ordered. Prices are comparable to other places around here. Definitely a place that I recommend visiting while on holiday in The Big Easy.

First of all, it took forever to order and pay for our drinks at the bar. We wanted to grab some cocktails to go, and the poor bartender was not good at handling multiple orders. On top of this, the manager of supervisor made some rude comments on this bartender’s mistakes right in front of customers! I did not appreciate that and the amount of mistakes that happened in our very simple order. The drinks also didn’t make up for this either, granted they were the typical sugary bourbon street type drinks. I felt awfully sick from all the sugar shortly after. Grab a cheaper cocktail elsewhere– there’s plenty around.

Stopped in for a bite to eat after a Unilocal even touring some Royal Street galleries. I think the cool air from the restaurant led us here on this steamy July night. The staff was so cool and amazing… Joshua in particular. He had us laughing and smiling the entire time. Gave us some tips on his favorite items on the menu. Which is your typical seafood nNew Orleans menu, We opted for the Gumbalaya and the Crawfish Chicken Homerun. The Gumbalaya is exactly what you’re thinking… a bowl of gumbo with jambalaya instead of white rice. Twas’ pretty darn good. Not too spicy… with tons of meat in the gumbo and rice. And the roux from the gumbo was perfect… not like gravy which I despise. The Crawfish Chicken homerun was really good as well. Chicken breast covered in a sauce of crawfish, peppers, onions, and mushrooms and white rice. Almost reminiscent of an étouffée. It was lovely. Washed in all down with two NOLA Blonde beers. We left happy campers.

Oysters at the Corner Oyster House. The oysters aren’t that great. at all. You get what you get. You don’t choose which type of oyster. Our server was a nice young girl. The other servers rolled their eyes at her naivety. I don’t know what’s up between the staff, really. but it’s not all love. It’s a touristy stop because it’s in such a busy area but, there’s so much good food in New Orleans. Keep movin’.

The service here was pretty horrible. The waitress seemed to think she didn’t need to write down any of our drink orders and would bring us the wrong drinks or forget a few and then disappear for 10 minutes at a time. On the plus side she offered to give us 6 individual checks, but also messed that up a few times. She also seemed unusually concerned about who got the(free) waters and wanted to make sure that was indicated on the checks. The bloody mary’s were mediocre as were all the other super sugary drinks. The food seemed pretty overpriced and while all I got were french fries, they seemed pretty typical. On a Thursday afternoon it was not very crowded at all, which is perhaps the only advantage of this place as it allows for an escape of the overly crowded, douchey places of Bourbon St.

The restaurant was OK. It was not amazing or special. The soft shell crab platter was good. The crab was good and tasty. It was also juicy and tender. They also gave me an ample portions of French fries. The customer service was very friendly. The waiter was attentive. However, the place lacks ambiance. It is basically a sport bar that serves decent food. It is probably a good place to go to if you do not want to wait in a long line at a better restaurant.

My service was lovely and the drinks are strong in collectable cups. I didn’t eat, and maybe that’s the secret to liking this place. Roll up to the bar and roll back out with booze.

The lunch and dinner was simply delicious. I had the plate that came with white rice, red beans, shrimp creole, jambalaya, gumbo and topped it off with the bread pudding for dessert. There hot sauce crystal which is comparable to Tabasco sauce was added to my dish and yummy. The portions were a decent size for the price. The staff was really nice and very attentive. The breakfast was okay not much of a selection but okay not out of the ordinary there.
