Christie Froom Photography

I chose Christie after spending many weeks pouring over many other photographers portfolios. She has a gift for capturing those special moments and she has a bright crispness to her photos which is a breath of fresh air. She was completely professional from our initial emails to our engagement and bridal sessions. She was able to make my fiancée and me feel completely at ease during our sessions which made for some beautiful photos! And our wedding photos… OMG!!! Amazing!!! I would recommend Christie without hesitation to anyone looking for a wedding photographer!

The only reason this is rated one star is because I was unable to select zero stars.
Used Christie one time for a newborn session. I chose her because her prices were the lowest and she was recommended. We agreed to a price of $ 200 which included up to 3 hours of photographing and 20 edited images to a CD. Christie also stated that I can pick right from her gallery on her website what images I would like printed and her prints start out at 19 cents. I thought this was great — I could pick out 20 edited images and if I wanted more than that’s 19 cents a pic. Pretty good deal for a newborn session!
The actual photo session was a success (or at least that’s what I thought) and I was looking forward to viewing the still shots. She took a few hundred pictures (so I thought) because the session ran close to the 3 hours. I was able to view three «sneak peeks» and these photos were really good — so I was thrilled to hear my pictures were in the mail. When I received the CD, I thought it was strange that I could not pick out the photos that I wanted to retain. I contacted Christie to inquire about the remaining pictures because the CD included approximately 25 pictures.
Here is what I found out…
«After going back and looking thru your session I remembered that I had 5 sessions that week including yours were I was having a problem with one of my camera settings. It was not allowing me to focus normally! Since I am a new photographer I thought it was me but after trying everything I could to „focus better“ I took it to the camera store and they ended up repairing my camera for me. To be honest after looking thru your session the first time I was getting scared that I was not going to be able to give you the 20 images I quoted you for $ 200. The rest of the unedited images are really not good quality where they are terribly out of focus… You can’t really make what things are in the image. I just had to delete the unedited catalog because that is not my normal image quality. I did give you what I quoted you, but would love to offer you $ 100 off your next session since I cannot give the option to view the rest of your images. I’m very sorry!»
I also learned that the customer was not allowed to pick out the 20 edited photos.
Of course, I was disappointed to find this out. Based on current experience, I was concerned about the reliability of receiving quality photos for a future session and requested a credit on the current session. After going back and forth, she stuck to her guns and would not provide a partial or full refund for the current session. Thus, that’s why I’m writing a review to inform others of the experience that I had.
I would recommend another photographer — BeeBe Tran took my wedding photos and did a great job so I know there are some great photographers in the New Orleans area.
