Inspired by Joi’s elegiac review, I went to Carol’s Daughter’s website and purchased a bottle of Tui Moisturizing Shampoo, which sounded like it would be best suited to my hair. It arrived in a week or so and when I washed my hair the shampoo smelled lovely. The next day my hair looked good, shiny and full. I wash my hair every few days because it’s dry and I find that it has remained looking good. I like it and, even more important, so does my hair. I wasn’t pleased to receive and onslaught of daily emails from Carol’s Daughter, but that was easily remedied by unsubscribing. I use few cosmetics, but when I run out of shampoo, I will definitely call on Carol’s Daughter for more. It’s natural, w/o parabens, petroleum or other bad stuff.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Carol for giving birth to her daughter… who then gave birth to this glorious line of hair care products. Here goes. *Deep breath* I’m a total product ho. I often dilly dally between products. Moroccan Oil(second favorite line of hair products). Bumble & Bumble. Rusk. Paul Mitchell. Sebastian. Bed Head. I’ve even been known to resort to Aussie products when times were lean. But Carol’s Daughter fucking trumps them all. My absolute favorite hair products in the world! I’m talking about the Monoi line. It smells like a gardenia bush just attacked your formerly coarse and/or frizzy hair and left it a shimmering, sparkling mass of tresses just like you imagined the girl on the *original* Clairol Essence shampoo bottles to have. Google it. There’s a wide range of products to choose from in accordance with your hair type(we’re talking *all* hair types and a good deal of products meant for African American hair). The store yesterday was filled with young ladies with the most gorgeous heads-a-hair I ever did seen. I half entertained the thought of drugging one of them to drag into a back alley to have my way with some scissors and then stealing those locks for a a stunning wig. I jest. And bravo on those fragrance spray oils. For one, it will destroy any preconceived notions of what«ocean» might smell like(Bath & Body Works eat your heart out). So, Carol, wherever you are, you done good, lady! You deserve Mother of The Year(after my own mom, I mean!) *NOTE: this is in town ONLY during Essence so be sure and visit now through July 8.
