Came here twice while in town! Got the shrimp po boy and the spinach artichoke panini, both with sweet potato fries because why not. We enjoyed the food and the patio seating, and the waitress who helped us both times was the sweetest! This was one of the first places we visited after flying in for our first trip to New Orleans and she gave us a list of crawfish boils around town. Thanks for the hospitality!

A remarkable casual dining spot off the beaten path. Primarily well-made and creative sandwiches using fresh ingredients. The setting is casual family dining with a sidewalk café. The service is cordial and proactive without being intrusive. I was introduced to this place through a late friend who was a quadraplegic. It was his favorite spot for many years. They accommodated his needs and welcomed him like an old friend. My experiences have been consistently the same. Prices are reasonable. Located close to City Park and Delgado University. This is a worthwhile stop whenever you are in this area.

I’ve frequented this place very little considering I go to church right around the corner. It’s a neighborhood environment which gives you that relaxed feel if that is what you are searching for. It’s a sandwich/po-boy kind of place with sides ranging from fries, to soups, to salads. It lost two stars for two reasons: Reason number one is parking. Parking is limited to the surrounding neighborhood since it is a neighborhood establishment. It can be hectic trying to stay within the lines of residents’ driveways depending on the type of car you drive. This also limits the amount of cars that get to park very close the restaurant. Weekends hold the busiest times so your best bet is to come on a weekday before kids get out of school and adults get off from work. To fix this issue, you don’t necessarily have to dine in. There is the option of calling to take out your order. They always answer the phone so if you’re a Unilocaler, take a look at their menu and dial the number. «Lost star» Reason number two is the self serve option. When you eat in the restaurant, you swat yourself and you may have to wait a while to order. It’s a chill environment whether inside or outside. If you don’t mind waiting, be my guest. If you don’t have time to waste, consider ordering take out or ordering before you come. Either way, it’s affordable good food. P. s. If you like sweet potatoes, try their sweet potato fries.

First impressions are mostly a good indication of what your experiance may be… and this location did not disappoint. The four of us walk in at 11:10 A.M. and are greeted by two less than enthusiastic employees that proceed to tell us «it’s counter service so grab a menu and seat yourself» The about 5 minutes later after looking at the menu, one of us got up to ask about a menu item, we were told…“we stop breakfast service at 11:00″ a finite detail left out as we walked in, nor was is posted anywhere obvious. So we left and went down the road, calling first, to another broken egg.

Love their brunch on weekends and roast beef poboy sandwich, mimosas check, bloody mary check, good service check and the best part is that they’re right around the corner where I live so I just have to walk. Yayyyy!

I recently came here for breakfast with a friend. They are part of the trio of the Riccobono family restaurants in the area. This particular location is located in the Navarre neighborhood of New Orleans — hence the name. On good weather days, I suggest eating on the patio as we did. It was perfect. They have pretty white lights out there for at night as well. They have a great menu that is ideal for breakfast and lunch. They now serve dinner as well. We both got breakfast plates and were very pleased. Everything tasted fantastic. The service was very friendly, too. I hope to come back soon and try some of their other stuff. All the Unilocal pictures posted look yummy!

Finally stopped in for lunch after driving by this place a few times. We sat outside which is always a plus in my book. Their patio is really nice. I got a mimosa and the spinach artichoke panini. It was really tasty. My moms salad was huge. My dad couldn’t finish his panini and fries bc there was a decent serving. My boyfriend devoured his egg po boy. We will definitely be back for brunch/lunch. The prices weren’t bad at all.

The roast beef sandwich is OUTSTANDING!!! The Spinach/Artichoke panini was yummy as well. The hostess was very pleasant and we got seated pretty quickly even on a busy Race Sunday. This place totally gets a thumbs up!!!

Great service and even better value for the food. You will be full after. Can get crowded for brunch, but the wait usually isn’t long. Prices are very fair, and the quality is super for the price you pay.

I had the Cuban sandwich here and I was pretty impressed! Their sandwiches are pretty big, I for one could not finish mine and took the other half home. I did not care much for their bloody Mary though, but this is a Sandwich/Pizza place so, if you are there for the Bloody Mary then… I don’t know what to tell you. My Girlfriend had the Margherita Pizza and was also pretty tasty. Overall everyone on our table was very happy with their meal. If I worked around the area I could see myself putting this place in my lunch places to go list.

Another local find that turned out to be a true gem! We stopped by after a full day of softball play in City Park, which is very close. I had the Cuban Sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the Turkey/Avocado Sandwich and he loved it. The staff is very friendly and the place is really cool. If you are close to City Park — try it out — you will not be disappointed.

A great neighborhood place. Been here many times. Great for breakfast during the week, as they are never that busy, and the service and food is excellent. Haven’t been here for lunch yet, but I hear their roast beef poboy is one of the best in NOLA.

We hit up this café for breakfast on our way back home to Dallas– glad we did. The location is unique in that its hidden in a neighborhood; has that sweet, local vibe(yeah, what a dork I am). Anyway, quick service and good eats. Nothing fancy but hey, its a local café. I loved my southern omelette + grits and wished we could’ve stuck around for their po’boys.(Maybe next time!)

Very nice restaurant. I love the terrace there, it is so quiet and peaceful. The place is right next to City Park so it’s a good place to stop after hanging out there. Their menu is really good, I had a «health plate» there and it was very tasty. Ingredients were obviously fresh as well, and the portion was large enough. Finally the entire staff is so friendly, smiling and nice… I’m a fan!

It should be mentioned that my boyfriend and I just moved down the street from this little gem, and on our first morning in our new house, all of our pots and pans were still boxed up. I hop on Unilocal and what do I find closest to us but this well reviewed little café. We walked in and were immediately greeted like family, told to sit where ever we’d like, and within seconds of sitting our waitress came over to greet us and get our drink orders. The speed and friendliness of the staff is just one part of the five star experience I had at Café Navarre though. I ordered the Eggs Blackstone with hash browns, let me tell you, those eggs were poached perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was creamy and unsplit! They also put a delicious, almost spicy seasoning on the hash browns that really tied the dish together for me! My boyfriend ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and a side of bacon, his meal was just as perfect as mine! Overall this place was wonderful from ambiance, to service, to food quality. I think I just found my new favorite breakfast/brunch place, and it doesn’t hurt that it’s in walking distance!

We eat here 1 – 3 times a week, dine in or take out! I have had a great meal every time and everyone I have brought there loves it too! Our typical family debate during breakfast is whether they should make hashbrowns, homemade home fries or their present cubed potato. We never come to an agreement but I would love to have some onion red potatoes instead of the diced potatoes they use. I am always unsure why this inexpensive spot is not busy in the evenings. It is so casual and basic good fare for dinner, I would think that families should be filling it up each night.

Ok. The guy wanted to come, so I came back. I am glad that I did. We went for an early dinner, as they are open for dinner now. We shared fries(shoestring, fresh and crispy). I got the hamburger, medium dressed but without lettuce. He got the bacon cheeseburger, medium, fully dressed. We remained non-alcoholic with a coke for me and root beer for the guy. There were a couple of other patrons. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. Everything was hot, fresh, and really very good. I am glad that the guy **made**(hehehe, not really, I came willingly) me come back. *******UPDATE******** The dark thing on top of the bun in my picture is NOT a bug, I repeat NOT a bug! It is the plastic thing on top of a toothpick! *********UPDATE***********

ONEOFTHEBESTCUBANPO’POYSINTOWN! Okay so it’s not El Siboney, but Navarre’s version doesn’t claim to be a classic Cuban Mix, rather it’s a New Orleans version. WHYIT’S GOODBUTNOTAUTHENTIC: 1. The hollowed pressed baguette although not bona fide is appropriately crisp(I still contend that a Vietnamese Bahn Mi bun would be better); 2. The roast pork and ham are generously portioned at a 3+:1 ratio to the bread; 3. They use a hearty Swiss and thin tart pickles; 4. MAYONAISE??? The first rule when making a classic Cuban is what not to add: tomatoes, lettuce, and never MAYONAISE; 5. The yellow mustard isn’t strong enough to enhance the flavor. And actually yellow mustard is a South Florida contrivance. Purists contend that the juices from the meats and pickles should suffice; 6. Just $ 7.75 but oddly sides aren’t included.
