Centrally located for the New Orleans metro area. Its like a «rest stop» in the middle of the city. Whether your headed to Mid-​City, New Orleans East, The French Quarter or the By-Water…if you need a fill up this is the spot. And the sell fried chicken. BONUS!

My BROTHER from another mother…
I see this place every time I’m in NOLA but have never had an opportunity to see what they were about. My latest escapades had me renting a car so at some point with all the driving around you need to fil-​er-​up which brought me here.
This place is a gas station that has a mini mart/​BROTHERS chicken place attached. Sort of a one stop shop. Like SoCal more and more gas stations seem to be getting in bed with fast food joints making life a little bit easier to get some food and gas and have one less stop for errands.
I for one have not really caught on to this and STILL don’t like getting food (other than snacks) where I buy my gas. It just seems weird but be that as it may they are popping up everywhere even overseas so I might as well get on board.
I get my gas and the rest of my party is inside buying friend chicken. The place was packed with folks standing in line for CHICKEN when there was a perfectly good Popeye’s right up the road. We are in NOLA people this is where Popeye’s was born and ACTUALLY taste GOOD not like back home. The entire mini mart smelled like FRIED CHICKEN and GAS. The thought is making me nauseous just thinking about it! I wish you could see the contorted frowny face I’m making RIGHT NOW! Queue the hurling sounds.
They have a PRETTY decent set up and are located just passed the cash reg and display case for cigs, t-​shirts and hats! BROTHERS has its own CHICKEN display case so you can see what you are getting and they have different combos as well in case you in the mood for fries with that chicken! In fact it is a better deal to get fries with the chicken because the prices for JUST chicken will cost the same. Not sure how they figure that is right or fair but it is what is it and since you’re at a GAS STATION you don’t seem to be able to have much of a choice. Convenience is going to cost you.
My party got a few FRIED CHICKEN meals to go with drinks and we were out. The ankle biters that were with us chowed down and then fell off to sleep as we headed back to Lafayette and I searched for something else to eat. Hahaha! I stopped eating friend chick years ago and I didn’t NOT intend to start back now!
I’m gonna go with this food if PRETTY DECENT since the line was long and no one mind waiting. Not sure if they do the rotisserie style like KFC but if they have brick and mortar stores they just might. I really can’t say because when I’m in NOLA I’m NOT looking to eat no FRICKIN CHICKEN.
Can’t say that I was enticed to resume eating fried CHICKEN but I probably go back for the gas.

Fresh, hot and yummy fried chicken! This chicken is very good to say it’s gas station cooked chicken! This can be a one stop shop especially while traveling’

I haven’t tried the hot food inside yet, but everyone raves.
The gas is cheap, the place is almost always busy. This is definitely my preferred gas station. Right down the street from where I live, next to the freeway entrance. The end pumps seem to be out of paper to print receipts for credit constantly, but it is too easy to go in and ask for a copy. The clerks inside are always prompt and quick to serve you and get you in and out quickly.
This place is pretty darn convenient.

You know you are at Brothers when you pull up and see a line to pump gas during traditional business hours. You would think the gas is free.
Cheap gas, great location and 24 hours. This is my go to gas station when near Gentilly. If you are looking for a meal on the go, there is a kitchen here too. Many people swear by their fried chicken but I have steered clear of the cooked goods.
You can’t go wrong with Brothers locations which are all over the city, but this is definitely one of the best locations.

Open 24 hours throughout the year even during hurricanes! Best place to get fried chicken. Especially after midnight after a night out.

Top 3 Fried Chicken in the city. Seriously. Really. A gas station. I read rave reviews for the chicken at Lil Dizzy’s (adequate at best) and the classic over touristed and ridiculously over rated Willy Mae’s (which lost most of the charm it had when Willie Mae stopped hanging around the kitchen) and laugh. Those down home style places can’t come close to the fried delights under the heat lamps manned by hispanics that barely speak English at this Middle Eastern owned gas station. It sounds like I’m being sarcastic, probably because I usually am, but these are the facts.
The chickens crunch and flavor is rivaled by only Coops and McHardy’s in this city but for $ 14 you’re getting 25 pieces of dark meat. ($ 16 for 25 pieces if you are one of those fools that don’t understand true fried chicken taste and prefer white meat) No tables, obviously, but make sure there aren’t too many people at your house to finish the box because like all great fried chicken and wines, it ages very well.
For a party we had where we bought our favorite food from around the city, we got 150 pieces for a grand total of about $ 70 and made believers of an entire crowd… and that was before everybody was blind drunk.
Brings back the memory of the incredible era of first few months of Chicken Box (RIP) before they went down hill and eventually closed.
Conveniently, if you have to go out of your way to get here, you can fill up on some very cheap gas to get you home. A total package.
