This is where I first started going to AA meetings. The Boulevard Club is welcoming… very clean bathroom and of course AA coffee. There is a definite clubhouse mentality here. Some people stay around all day, and spend more time gossiping than they do talking about solutions. There are books to read while you wait for another meeting to start. They have 35 meetings a week, two home groups. Including an all women’s group«Wild Iris» which meets Fridays at 6pm.

I don’t know it’s origin but what I do know is that I look forward to seeing the crowd on my way home from work every night. What is this place??? I’m not sure but what i believe happened is that post-Katrina, some people decided to put up a sign on their raised porch, a few chairs, and a great view and open their club. Some day 1 person, some days 15. I’m not sure what goes on but I give it 5 stars, 10 crawfish, 4 Super Bowl Trophies, 10 red beans, or whatever the scale is you’d like to use for being inventive and long standing. One day I hope to get the nerve up to actually climb the stairs and find out… if it’s a private club then I want in!!!
