Biba Isla Salon

I have troublesome hair and a bad haircut else where had made it look worse. Never having been to Biba before she gave me a haircut that looked great with my hair and lasted for three months! About to make my second appointment with her.

This is seriously the BEST salon. I moved to New Orleans in January and was very nervous about changing stylists. I went to a salon a few months ago and they destroyed my hair. It looked awful and I needed to get it fixed. I got it low-​lighted after that and it stayed like that for maybe 3 weeks. I decided to try out Biba Isla Salon to get it fixed. First off, she was incredibly professional about everything, yet remained personable. I was also impressed with the salon, itself. The décor is so relaxing and beautiful. She dyed my hair and it turned out beautiful. I was so impressed that I decided to trust her to trim my hair. I never let anyone trim my hair because people always cut more off than you ask for. She took off the dead ends and ONLY THE DEAD ENDS. There was hardly any hair on the ground, but my hair looked so healthy, yet the length remained the same! She is also such a lovely person and is truly a genuine individual that I am proud to have met. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SALON FOR ANYONE.

I was in New Orleans for vacation and wanted to get my hair touched up. It was on a Sunday and I was desperately trying to sit down somewhere and have someone touch/​do my hair. I was in dire need of some relaxation. I saw the reviews for this place and thought it was going to be super exclusive, intimidating, and expensive. I called the number and a very sweet woman answered and I thought «hmm. I wonder if she owns this place all by herself.» I never had one-​on-​one service before. I’m from California and all the nice salons here are super expensive and you have to book in advance or some ridiculous hoo ha type bs. I told her I was right downstairs in my car and she came right down and introduced herself and saw my hair. She made the time for me. I was super surprised when she took me in immediately and felt very special. As I walked upstairs to her studio, I thought, «wow. It’s just me and her. This is a little intimidating.» However, she made this california girl feel right at home.
Let’s talk about her work. I have never met someone so hands on and I’ve dealt with numerous hairdressers who think they are hot shit. She was super hands on, very talented, and very good. I am a makeup artist and have seen good work. Come hell or high water, she will take whatever time is needed to make sure you are well taken care of before you leave. I wanted my black hair to be blondish caramel. This isn’t easy. She did a great job making sure everything was turning the right color. I was really amazed at her work. For someone as high profile as her, she was very humble, gracious, kind, and sweet.
I was very happy with my color and the work she did. She not only took care of my hair, but made sure I was having an ok time in New Orleans and checked up on me to make sure I was ok. She is a true rarity. Typically, people of her status and experience have this air of arrogance or egotistical mannerisms of epic proportions. She did not. She is super humble and I did not realize how big of a deal she was until I did my research.
When the New Orleans water stripped the toner out of my hair, she called me immediately and set up an appointment the next morning. She does whatever she can to make sure her clients are happy. I thought i was happy when I walked out the first time. I was even more happy when I walked out the second time. My hair looked absolutely amazing.
Did I forget to mention she sells her own lipsticks? they are amazing. They feel great, taste great, and are super smooch-​able. Boyfriend approved!
She is going to take California by its balls and really show these hairstylists out here how it is done!

Fantastic! I had an excellent experience with Biba. I needed a haircut to look more tame and put together for an upcoming interview. I’m new to NOLA, and I haven’t figured out how to cope with the humidity… Biba was very knowledgable, and I enjoyed learning about what products were best for this city’s weather! My hair cut was perfect! She straightened it as well and it was beautiful! I have it curly today and it has bounce and volume! So pleased!

Biba is awesome! Really amazing hair stylist & person! I’ve only had my hair done in Nola one other time & Biba is way better! Go here!

CURLY GIRLS! As a curly girl myself (fine-​medium hair) I highly recommend seeing Biba. This is the best asymmetrical haircut I’ve ever had while being able to keep my length. I get so many compliments on my hair (whether I wear it curly or straight) that I have to give her business cards away.

Habiba is the best and so so talented!!! I am always complimented on my hair and she has been doing my hair for years now. I have never been disappointed and would most certainly recommend her. Love her new location. The salon has a great vibe too!

Biba is an incredibly talented stylist. I have a mixed hair texture and have serious issues trying to find someone who not only CAN work with my hair but who enjoys doing so! She is a professional and has created a beautiful and relaxing environment in which the stylist and customer can collaborate to create the optimum experience. I can’t say enough good things about her and my confidence in her ability to make customers of diverse backgrounds feel comfortable. Just treat yourself right and go!

I was in NO for a conference and needed a blow out early Monday morning (8am). In a city where every salon seems to be closed on Mondays, Biba came through!
She was able to easily set up my appointment over the phone and sent me an email confirmation. She called the day before to re-​confirm and was waiting outside to greet me. The salon was really cute and the temperature was comfortable.
She gave me a fantastic blow-​out and finished in the time stated. She was super friendly and personable to talk to as well. I would definitely recommend her services to anyone in the area! Bonus points for making yourself available to fit my schedule, thanks again!

Biba helped me out last minute while I stayed in New Orleans.
I needed to get my hair done for a wedding, called her salon and she got me in right away. She did a fantastic job and is just a wonderful person to speak with. I’d go back to her again, but I live in southern California :)

I was in from out of town for a conference, and found Biba because she was near my hotel and I had to get my hair and makeup done for a video interview. I found her on Unilocal and basically just crossed my fingers, because it’s hard to put your appearance in the hands of someone you don’t know (I tend to build long term relationships with my stylists!). She’s wonderful, an angel — totally sweet, kind and attentive. Very skilled stylist. My hair was a little different than I wanted — but that was not Biba’s fault — I was too busy and rushed to even show her a picture or describe what I wanted, I was very vague. But even so she really did an amazing job, she’s a total pro and has a relaxed and caring energy that I encourage everyone to try and experience. I enjoyed every moment in her gorgeous salon (I love the paint color so much I asked her for the name because I want to paint my apartment that color!). She also incredibly discreetly mentioned that she’s quite experienced in doing makeup /​hair on movie sets, for some high profile folks, so you’re in good hands. I can’t recommend her enough.

I felt like a queen the day of my elopement! Biba handed me a mimosa and I was good to go! She understood my style and made it happen for me. I feel like a goddess ;)

Biba really outdid herself this time! My hair was so dull and shaggy but she really turned me into a sleek masterpiece! I love this haircut. I can rock it curly or strait and it looks healthy and amazing with the products she used! A+++

I recently visited New Orleans while on a home trip from working in the Middle East. I made an appointment with Biba to get a deep conditioning treatment and cut. My hair had been over processed and was very dry and brittle. The haircut from Biba was amazing and the products she used made an immediate difference.
I purchased the Rene Furterer shampoo, conditioning masque and thermal protectant and love these products!
I will definitely return to this salon when I am back home!!!

I LOVE This Hair/​Makeup Diva. Biba is one of the sweetest woman I kno. Her salon matches her personality elegant, peaceful, and perfection. I love how she can work under pressure… great for wedding parties, padgeantry, fashion shows, etc. I had three different looks done by Biba on set, and all 3 were done to perfection! !!!
