Best Life Pharmacy & Restaurant

Great lil spot to grab breakfast from while on the way to work. Can’t really beat eggs, turkey bacon, toast, and potatoes for only $ 3. Service is slow sometimes but it’s not the worst in town. Food tends to be a little under seasoned sometimes too, so just prepare to throw a little salt & pepper on it!

A $ 3 QUASI-​HEALTHY BREAKFAST
One of the better deals in town. You get about a pound of grits, turkey sausage, wheat toast and two eggs cooked to order. (See my pic)
BEST LIFE TAKE-​OUT TAKEAWAYS:
1. It’s located between Central Lock-​up and the Big Cheezy.
2. It’s both a pharmacy and a breakfast/​lunch counter café.
3. It reminds me of a cleaner yet just as spare «Gene’s».
4. It’s mostly take-​out as it only seats 8 or so.
5. Oddly there’s no posted menu, you have to ask for one.

Had breakfast here before and it was somewhat dry and bland. Eggs, sausage & grits or potatoes and a coffee for under $ 5! And they’re also running a pharmacy here! 3-​stars.

Called in to pick up my order but when I arrived they acted as though they never spoke to me. I was told I’d have to wait an extra 10 minutes on top of the 15 minutes of previous waiting. The food was undercooked and the service staff was incredibly rude. I’ll never return to this place.

Best Life, is for me a life saver.
I was serving Jury Duty and they are diagonally across the street from the Courthouse.
The food is very affordable, and with a healthy slant I can respect.
The Buffalo Wings, were baked and yet VERY juicy.
The sauce was very tasty and I was very happy with that lunch.
For Breakfast, I went in and asked for a breakfast sandwich, which they do not serve.
HOWEVER, I did pay a paltry $ 2.00 for a very big portion of eggs and 2 slices of toast, so I constructed my own breakfast sandwich of sorts and still had a lot of eggs left over.
My advice would be to offer breakfast sandwiches, and find some way to target the courthouse staff.
The staff at the courthouse seemed to almost be unaware that they were there.
That is a LOT of missed, potential walk in traffic.

4.This place is almost unknown.
If you are in this area, CBD, whatever, go here and get some lunch to go.

Great food, really friendly service. Try the white beans, they are fantastic. The pharmacy is a little unreliable, but it makes you feel better about giving money to the pharmaceutical world when you shop at a locally owned spot like this.

Yes… FIVE STAR at a little pharmacy restaurant combo! While your prescriptions are being filled by the friendliest pharmacist in town (Dr. Christian), you can have a DELICIOUS & HEALTHY snack or meal prepared with love & ALL NATURAL ingredients! NO PORK or BEEF! Grilled & baked salmon, tuna, hotwings, smothered cabbage & brown rice, mustard greens… these are a few choices I just remember, and NO MEAL MORE THAN $ 9.00!!! ALL done with big, WELCOMING smiles, on a corner, & in an area that’s better known for sadness & despair (it’s across the street from Orleans Parish Prison & the Courts & glaring Bail Bond signs)! Let’s show em some love in return, y’all, & big, chain, impersonal pharmacies DA BOOT!

I really like this place.
I usually call ahead to make my order and go pick it up. The parking can be a little awkward but it is definitely worth figuring out.
The food is simple, honest, fresh and you can SEE exactly what you are eating. Prices are reasonable. When you order/​pick up your order, you can see into the kitchen which is refreshing because you can see exactly where you food is coming from. And it is clean.
My first order (and now favorite) was a 12″ grilled chicken sandwich, dressed, add jalapenos. The bread was pillowy wheat bread (none of that sawdust wheat bread grit) and the chicken was fresh grilled. Great deal for $ 6.
I vote «TRY IT.»

I absolutely love Best Life Pharmacy and Restaurant!
The food is healthy, it makes my soul feel good after I eat there because I know this is as healthy as it gets. I know it will take a while for people to get adjusted to becuase healthy doesn’t satisfy the flesh the way most people are accustomed too. But if you want to live a long happy healthy life, Best Life Pharmacy and Restaurant is the place to eat!

Went to this restaurant because it’s in my neighborhood. It’s very basic inside. Prices are cheap. Food is mediocre, but healthy. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast. It was baked and probably microwaved. Red Beans and Rice were adequate as well as the salad. Total price $ 6.53. Not bad… but not great. I might try something else that is cooked fresh. Didn’t try the pharmacy but thought it was in interesting combination.
