This is a fantastic, beautiful home that’s a great bargain in New Orleans. The location is perfectly close to the bars and restaurants on Frenchmen Street, but is still in a quieter neighborhood. I’ve stayed here twice now and it’s just the best. It’s like having your own perfect NOLA home for the weekend. Highly recommended!

I was a little hesitant to stay at a bed & breakfast, especially in New Orleans, because I expected some grandma to be waiting up for me as I stumbled in at 4am with a hurricane in my hand and a girl-gone-wild on my arm. Barbara and Tom may be an older couple, but they’re two of the most fun, open, unique people I’ve ever met. The room their guests stay in is off to the side of the house, so you have your own key, your own entrance and your own bathroom — essentially your own house. They don’t care when you come and go, and provide you with a big room in their gorgeous house. But even with all this independence, by the second day I found myself wanting to spend more time with them and their friends anyway. They invited me to join them for a great chili dinner, sharing their hilarious stories and New Orleans traditions with me. They took me out to the Krewe du Vieux parade, where Barbara spent the whole time running up to various paraders wearing S&M outfits or giant paper mache cocks shouting«He’s from California! He’s from California!» to score me an endless supply of novelty cigars and glow stick earrings. I’m planning on heading back to N.O. soon, and they are a big part of my reason.
