An excellent restaurant that I have had the pleasure of dining at for years because I am often in 1100 Poydras downtown. The food is always delicious and more than I can eat in one sitting. When oysters are in season, they have one of the best fried oyster salads in town, but I’m partial to their loaded french fries and gumbo. The environment is very friendly and comfortable, and lunches there are always long and enjoyable-possibly because of the great selection of wines and scotch. I often take clients here for lunch meetings, because the hostess and waitstaff provide very personalized and attentive service, with quieter seating available for business.

I wanted to try NOLA traditional cuisine! I’m so glad that I did come to the restaurant. The owner I’m assuming because she didn’t have on a uniform of any however she was a tad bit rude. However my waitress was very nice, she even brought me a sample of the étouffée before I made my decision. The restaurant was quiet décor average. Good food.

Worked in building 5 yrs but never tried b/c of cost and bad reviews. Had the BBQ shrimp poboy today and will be last trip. Tough to get someone to help me, food was extremely bland and well not worth that much money. Even if it’s pouring again, I won’t be back.

I do really enjoy Allegro. I have tried everything from a Burger to a salad and enjoyed each experience. My favorite of everything presented on the menu is the the Crawfish Carbonara. Words cannot explain how this unique dish warms you with every bite. The only reason why I did not give this place 5 stars is because service tends to be on the forgetful side and there is no way you can have a simple quick lunch here unless you call ahead to order take away.

Welcome to NOLA!(5÷9÷13) This was our first stop in New Orleans after disembarking the bus from the airport! I arrived famished and had a taste for some New Orleans style crawfish étouffée and stumbled upon the Allegro Bistro. The closest thing on the menu to what I was looking for is the crab and crawfish étouffée. I thought that it was pretty good and worth the wait. Unfortunately, I was too full to try dessert. The atmosphere was pretty laid back and the décor was ok but looks like it could use a few modern tweaks. They have several big screens so I can see why people would want to be there to watch games and have drinks. The staff was very courteous, attentive and helpful. After finishing the meal, Janet was very helpful in guiding us in the direction of our hotel in the French Quarters Kudos to Allegro Bistro!

Salads and sandwiches are good, but overpriced. The service has always been spot-on. The décor… well…1980 is still here. Badly in need of a complete renovation, but the bartenders know what they’re doing. Used to do a 4pm Wednesday happy hour that was 3 for 1 well drinks. They served them in Iced Tea glasses. Great choice, however, before a Saints game as the location is prime for that. The entrees are pretty good, but I think they’re overpriced — I’d stick with the sandwiches and salads. The chicken sandwich is a little anemic and thin, but the flavor is good. Big thumbs up on the rest, tho.

I think if Allegro’s was located anywhere else in the city it wouldn’t be what it is but… location location location! They do serve up a good pre game Bloody Mary on Saints gamedays. The food inside is ok and the décor reminds me of the 80’s(including their sign). Service is good for mid day lunch and drinks except for on gamedays, this place gets PACKED. It’s one of the best places to get together in the CBD, everyone knows it.

Quick and courteous service, and a decent choice when looking for something near the Superdome or NO Sports Arena before a game. Very solid local food, but nothing spectacular – particularly given the million other options in the city. Get the BBQ shrimp appetizer.

Some of the best food in the CBD. Their fillet minion sandwich with caramelized onions and Brie cheese is to die for!

This is a happening place for drinks on game days. It’s right in the middle of all the action(ground floor of the Energy Centre.) Luckily, they serve pretty good drinks. I work in the building, but don’t often eat here. It’s a bit pricey. The gumbo is excellent, but at ten bucks a bowl, that can be steep. They have daily specials that always sound good too. Allegro is a great meet up spot for drinks after work if you work in the CBD or like I mentioned, on game days. Go Saints!

Eat your fingers good! As long as I have worked in the CBD, this was my first time here. What has taken me so long? This place is a hidden gem. I had the barbecue shrimp plate which was served with a choice of side. I had the fries and crusty french bread. A-maz-ing! I was mad it was gone. An added bonus was that the shrimp were deveined!
