I live in Houston and found this gift shop via google. A friend is getting married in New Orleans and I wanted to send a special gift basket to her hotel for her and her bridal party to enjoy the day before the wedding. I chose this place of business because they seemed to offer more customized choices, rather than just a traditional fruit basket. I called the shop and told them what I was looking for and they had Lisa, the manager, call me back within a couple hours. She was very helpful in choosing the items to include, making sure it had a New Orleans flair. She included fleur de lis chocolates, pralines, granola bars, Zapps chips, small pies and even included the specific brand of sparking wine that I requested. They only had two days notice to find all the goodies and prepare the basket and went above and beyond. They included a French Quarter keepsake basket and decorated it to look like a bridal veil. To top it all off she emailed me 3 pictures to showcase the basket prior to delivering it to my friend. It was just gorgeous. I am so happy with their customer service. Lisa emailed me a couple of times during the process and then sending the pictures of the finished product was icing on the cake. Well done!

A walked in but was given attitude for having a stroller. Not a friendly lady behind the counter. Sad, since I was going to buy things.

Every once in a while it is good to play tourist in your own city. I was lucky enough to do that last week when I came across this business. While it is mainly a book store, there were several other gift type items for sale. Being that I am a local, I don’t usually have much need for local cookbooks, or New Orleans themed items. But the staff at this store were incredibly friendly. So much so that I would consider coming back her to buy a gift for an out of town friend. The selection was quite varied, but focused on Louisiana and New Orleans themes. There were all of the big named chef’s cookbooks along with other locally themed books. There was also a decent selection of magazines that would serve tourists or Quarter residents well. If you’re in the Quarter and need a book, check this place out.
