Rented this apartment ¹²⁄₁₂ for family Christmas reunion. We paid $ 4500.00 for 1 month. The apartment was filthy — termites, bathtub with black «soot,» unwashed sheets and bedspreads, dishes and cups with bugs. We had 1 hanger in a 3 bedroom apartment, had to go to my mother’s for towels, clean linens. Hot water heater had to be reset by climbing ladder to second story in a dark alley to reset heater and override safety features of unit. Water heater connected to other unit’s heater via a ½ gas line. Plumber hired by landlord said this was too dangerous for him to fix, that each water heater needed designated gas line of ¾″. Landland refused to fix and left town. She had ladder in alley way and admitted this had happened before. I spent $ 600.00 having the apartment cleaned which she refused to do. Slipper chairs were filthy and ripped. The 2 showers were not functional when we arrived and one took 10 days to fix. Nevertheless she refused to reimburse us for any days we had to put up with these conditions. Especially concerning is the unsafe water heater gas line connection.
