This place is like a hidden gem I had only gone to the garment district for fabrics and when I came here it was like fabric heaven. The staff is so friendly and helpful. This place is swatch-friendly and you can get advice on your upholstery projects. Wide selection of beautiful fabrics and all the underpinnings you need for upholstery work. Definitely go here!

I came to Zarin fabrics to get upholstery foam for my Halloween costume and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I was immediately greeted by the nicest man in the front, Sean, and then told where to go for the foam. Everyone answered my questions and were very helpful, Sean even went the extra mile for me and offered to have the foam custom cut so I didn’t have to do it myself at home. I only spent $ 50 there but was treated like I was spending $ 10,000. Also– the store smells SO good. Must be all the fancy candles! I’ll definitely come back for any fabric needs, this is the place to go!

I work in film and TV and this one of the last places in NYC that you buy the fabric and take it with you. The staff is great and very knowledgable.

I am always on the hunt for good stuff in the city at a good price. This place is on an old time New York City corner in the LES shopping district in what New Yorkers call Simply ‘Delancy.’ For the New Yorker we expect a deal and this place has high and low. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and they did not move here from somewhere else. eg they do not FREAKKIN follow you around their STORE. An array of fabrics from the simple to the ornate.

Know what you want before you come in. The staff is very nice and helpful pointing you to where what you are looking for is on the floor; then knock yourself out with a crazy selection. Really, it is hard to decide so you better go on an empty stomach so that hunger helps you make up your mind.

My roommate and I went in, unsure of what to expect, and we were so pleasantly surprised! Great service, so many great options and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They were efficient but helpful in showing us what would work for our project of reupholstering our couch. I would certainly go back for any fabric needs in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone who asked me. In fact, we may go back next week to buy more of the same fabric to do an armchair!

The staff is(mostly) very helpful and knowledgeable. Jeff gave me a great price on seat cushions and I would go back just to say hi to him because he was such a nice guy to deal with. Very nice place to shop.

This store is super super super expensive. BUT it’s ABSOLUTELYFANTASTIC assuming money is no object to you. I had never seen fabric that cost $ 75 a yard before. I came here to get some fabric to make a couple curtains, I didn’t think It would be this much. However, I was blown away by the selection, décor and the staff was very very helpful. Thumbs up Zarin!

I needed ribbon and who knew that a fabric store does NOT carry ribbon! Big surprise. But I got lucky in that Lynette(sp?) waited on me and was most helpful making suggestions for my project. She’s a DIYer and gave me a great idea. She also suggested other stores that carry ribbon. Next time I need fabric I’ll definitely visit Zarin to speak with her. I had purchased fabric at Zarin’s years ago and remembered it as a leader in the business. They are doing some work on the store so it is not attractive at the moment. I only went to the lower level so I cannot comment on what they have on other floors.

Being on the Housewives of NY is probably the fifth reason why this is an incredible store and customer experience. They are like the Willy Wonka of fabrics. I have been using them for years and they are consistently competitive with a wonderful selection. I started using them about a decade ago first for window treatments when living in Union Square and then for my office. I cannot say enough wonderful things about their huge inventory of fabrics, creative ideas and options, and savings. Incredible store, great customer service, and attention to detail. I am a difficult NY’er, but a huge fan!!!

Customer service is what stands out at Zarin Fabrics. A special shout-out to Katelyn who was extremely helpful with some window treatment issues I had. She went above and beyond in helping me resolve these issues, and I will definitely return to Zarin for my interior design needs.

It’s like a candy store for fabric lovers. I browsed and browsed for hours because there were so many options. The salesperson gave me a quick overview of the layout and provided samples cuts… finally mixing and matching the samples, I selected my fabrics and left the store happy. I admit the price was more than I expected but my pillows turned out really nice.

This store has been here forever and there’s a reason — the selection is superb and the staff is terrific and knowledgeable. They are somewhat pricey but I believe I got excellent value. I was particularly impressed because in fact at first a mistake was made with a rather expensive seat cushion we had made. We brought it back and they re-did the job, this time just right. I appreciated the fact that they worked with me on this, were very professional, and delivered a fine product. In particular, I would single out Judy, who is quite experienced, has good taste in color and design and has a lovely way of dealing with clients. They are great about communicating(i.e., when the job will be ready or is ready) and are efficient about being ready for you when you come to pick it up(helpful if one is in a car).

I don’t know if they are unethical or incompetent. I had a livingsocial coupon, but almost everything I liked was not eligible for the coupon. I finally asked the guy at the front and he told me I could have one of 3 choices for $ 45 a yard(which I find really pricey, but I don’t have any choices – $ 35 a yard is the cheapest thing they have). I finally pick one and, after they’ve rolled it out they change the price to $ 195 a yard! I was so upset, I left the store. LivingSocial won’t give me a refund(and I won’t use LivingSocial anymore over this), so I have to go back. I find another fabric I like. I ask a sales person and I’m told $ 35 a yard, so I go to get it. After it is cut, another person comes and changes the price to $ 59 a yard! There are very few prices listed anywhere. And the prices are SO high. I really hate spending an hour to find something I like and then having the priced changed. When prices are that high, I would like them listed clearly. If you have to haggle that hard over prices there should at least be good deals for it!

Zarin is a great Fabric store! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Unlike most of the fabric stores in the LES, Zarin is ORGANIZED, clean and spacious. They have several floors — the main floor has clearance fabrics and their design space(they can reupholster anything for you I think, although I was just there for fabric and supplies to do my own work). Downstairs they have upholstery supplies and accessories, and upstairs are rows and rows of fabric displayed on racks so that you can see each bolt, and organized according to color and pattern type. It is definitely a bit pricy, but they have a great selection(which is all actually accessible) and great staff.

You should venture into Zarin Fabrics even if you don’t need to buy fabrics because it is definitely a neat place to see. When you walk in the door you see a neat area with a few rows of fabrics and a showroom. I thought it was nothing special, I’ve been to a fabric store before but when I walked up the stairs to the secord floor where they kept the rest of the fabrics I was completely blown away. There are rows upon rows of fabrics organized by color and fabric type. Against the wall there are rolls and rolls of fabric on a shelf piled high on top of each from floor to ceiling wall to wall. It looks like there are thousands of rolls of fabric in there. I imagine a little wizard will ask you for the type of fabric you want and when you tell him he’ll know exactly where it is and a tall ladder will magically appear and he will go and get your fabric for you. Oh my imagination… it would be pretty cool if that actually happened though. Anyhow, Zarin has gorgeous fabrics but they don’t come cheap. Many fabrics are between $ 25& $ 35 a yard but I saw a gorgeous rust colored silky fabric that was $ 60 a yard. They also make drapes(which is why I visited, needed an estimate on curtains and it came out to $ 370 for a 47“x63″ window frame using $ 30 per yard fabric and thermal lining, ouch!) but if I ever had some money to burn, I’d definitely get some custom made drapes here!

Great place with TONS of selection of really gorgeous high end fabrics. Everything here is kind of pricey but they have truly gorgeous selections. Everything was very well organized making the selections easy to get your mind around. They were friendly to me the second I walked in. They asked where I had heard of them. « Unilocal!» I say and they say«we love Unilocal!». They directed me upstairs where a lovely young woman was so helpful to me. She spent plenty of time with me showing me how to find various fabrics and even helped me make a decision based on my description of my décor. She was quite patient with my indecision. I saw a number of fabrics that I fell in love with(not related to the current project I was shopping for). The girl noticed me examining the fabrics and asked if I would like her to cut a swatch for me. So nice. Another older woman helped me pay and wrapped my fabric. She was very appreciative and gave me some information about their pillow making services. The prices were on the high end but not any worse than I’ve heard from other places. I will definitely be back whenever I’m in the market for some scrumptious fabrics!

From the minute I walked into the showroom, I was immediately greeted with friendly salesmen and big smiles. «How did you hear about us?» Without hesitation, I told them« Unilocal!» After that, I was treated very well, and a salesman gave us the grand tour of all the different fabric choices. I was impressed with their inventory and also how organized they were. My only disappointment was not finding what I wanted. Even if I did choose a fabric that I would consider, it was definitely way over my price range to spend on a year leased apartment. I do recommend this place to anyone who owns a place, and who isnt afraid to pay $ 15-$ 30 a yard for the clearance fabrics. Oh yeah, and they also sell Hunter Douglas brand, which is a reputable shade company!
