York Prep School

York Prep is a great school for kids who need extra help (Jump Start will provide all the tutoring and support) and also for kids who are über-​achivers (The York Prep Scholars Program, a three-​year enrichment sequence leading to a York Prep School Degree with Honors, addresses the needs of our most academically able students with a rigorous and exciting curriculum). I am most grateful for the school’s support of my daughter and for its most excellent learning environment.

Our child is extremely happy to be in a school with such dedicated and smart teachers and administrators. Small class sizes, individual approach, one-​on-​one college counseling and preparation — one of the best schools in the city.

I highly recommend York Prep. My son is extremely smart (tested off the charts), but he is very easily distracted and is a non-​linear thinker. Standard learning methods do not work for him. York Prep offers a wonderful Jump Start Program that really takes into consideration students who are otherwise very bright but have unique learning modalities. He left his former public high school very frustrated and un-​successful. We were referenced to York from a family whose children currently attend there — and they had a similar experience. So, we took them up on it and never looked back. He is thriving at York. It is a very close knit and intimate environment run by a married couple who have run the school for the last 45 years. They really care about each student and have one the best college prep programs we have seen. Our son is very happy and we are thrilled that we found a place where he gets the kind of attention that he needed.
