Working in NYC I try not to buy lunch to often but I can never resist food trucks and I’m glad I tried this one. I had the Love Me Tender Chicken Sandwich today and it was delicious! True to its name, the chicken was tender and the sauce was out of this world. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. The guys are super friendly and the food came out pretty quick for such good food. My friend had the Red, White, and Blue Cheese Chicken Sandwich which he loved so much he emailed me right after to say that he was going to go back later to try their burger. He wasn’t kidding… He had that and said the burger«pretty damn good. it does not disappoint». Hopefully will see them around again near the Courts!

Got the«Winner Winner» which came recommended by the owner of the truck. Generally I try to stay away from fried food for lunch but if you work in DUMBO you know the options are pretty limited. The tenders were damn good, juicy and tender but I was surprised that the outside wasn’t crispy. Fries were really good too and the pickle was delish. Price was excellent as well, it’s hard to get a sub-$ 12 lunch around here. For a comfort food kinda lunch it hit the mark.

BEST chicken fingers in NYC! Can’t go wrong here. the chicken is moist and crisp down to the last bite. Yum! The brioche bun is really good, tastes like a grilled cheese. Fries are also top notch, and the best part is they’re quick and super friendly. Check em out!

I thought it was just ok. My chicken was a little tough. I had the love me tender. The fries were nice and crunchy. This is definitely not the best chicken sandwich, not even close. The owner is a hell of a nice guy. I would go back.

Walked by the truck and was convinced by Josh(Yankee Doodle Dandy’s super enthusiastic founder) to try the food that he guaranteed my friend I were going to love. I chose the chicken tenders with American cheese on a brioche bun with a side of fries and I was quite impressed! I was slightly disappointed that they didn’t add the spectacular sauce he went on and on about, however, I will definitely be trying the tenders on Texas toast next time. Thanks for the free Sprite, Josh!

The chicken sandwich was simple and awesome, the best part was that it was fresh and crispy, no worries on a dry piece of meat with these guys. Fries were super crispy and hot, highly recommended.

Amazing. Had the chicken tender sandwich, so glad we decided to get food from here. We ordered because they had samples of the chicken tender and it was yummy. Will definitely be looking for them again.

Need to see more of these guys at MidTown East 47th. Winner Winner is my favorite. Juicy check tenders, sauce, potato salad, texas toast and about a half serving of fries for only ten bucks. Pretty good value to NYC, very good execution, especially for a portable kitchen. Crew is friendly and hard working. They take credit cards, Their other dishes are awesome, I’d go through the entire menu if they made it up our way more often.

Still love their food! My favorite dish now is their«America the Beautiful» salad. Rather than spend time and money going to a restaurant, I just come to Yankee Doodle Dandy’s food truck… Same gourmet salad, but half the price. If you ask for grilled chicken, they can do that too! The owner is also such a nice guy, and you can really tell he works hard to ensure his customers have a great experience.

Never heard of it until the other day. Saw them at a music festival on Randall’s Island… Are there Friday and Saturday. And j plan on going back tomorrow! I had q burger which was very good and the chicken fingers were fantastic. Next up is pulled pork! In addition to great food, the owner is very friendly. A true American Dream! Great concept with the food truck. Also provided a tent for his customers to eat under. It poured all day today and they provided shelter to his customers. A must try if you ever see it around! AMAZINGAMAZINGAMAZING. Not only is the food fantastic, but service is fabulous. Really engaging employees. I have tried the burger and the Winner Winner. Best chicken EVER. And that sauce?! Their 76 sauce is to die for. I could probably put that on anything. Be prepared though. It’s a ton of food. :D

These guys have a stand at UrbanSpace Garment District right now so I decided to give them a try for lunch. I ordered the $ 10 «Winner Winner» — 4 pieces of chicken tenders, spirit of ’76 sauce, Texas toast, and potato chips. They were out of fries, so they substituted a small 1 oz bag of Lay’s chips instead, hardly a comparable substitute. The chicken tenders had a lot of breading on them and were over-fried to a dark brown color. Some bites were acceptably tender, but most bites were rough, salty, and rubbery. The sauce was hardly memorable. The thick toast was good, buttered on one side and toasted just the right amount.

Great food and awesome service at Yankee Doodle Dandy’s. I went there on an overcast weekday during lunch and ordered a Winner Winner. And man, was the meal aptly named. The fried chicken was on point, as was the texas toast. Having gone to school in NC, this lunch brought me right back to the wonders of fried chicken in the south. The service was very quick and the staff friendly. On top of that, Josh(the owner) also gave me a free drink in exchange for an honest Unilocal review. Honestly, this meal was fantastic. If you are looking for a hearty meal and fried chicken that’s cooked to perfection, you should definitely check out this food truck. I will definitely be coming back soon when the truck is near me!

Found the red, white and blue truck parked along a line of other trucks on 46th street. The guy at the front of the truck with the Captain America T-shirt was engaging and friendly. I tired the Red White and Blue Cheese Chicken Sandwich meal. Texas Toast, breaded chicken tenders slathered with buffalo sauce and blue cheese. A healthy side of fries and a chipotle sauce along with a sliced pickle made for a solid meal. The sandwich was filled with chicken and the Texas toast held it all together. Finger licking good. Will go back and try other items. Good people in truck made it especially worth while.

First off, the name and the decoration of the truck set me back a bit. I wasn’t sure if this was a serious food truck, or some kind of weird experiment. But, I looked at the menu and had to admit I was intrigued. $ 10 for a Chicken Club with fries. That’s the magic number, and it happened to be exactly what I had tried to order from a nearby deli but had been told that 3 o’clock was too late to order lunch, and they wouldn’t be making my sandwich. Yankee Doodle to the rescue. They included a cup of special sauce, and my one complaint is that they didn’t include 2 cups of special sauce. The guy on the truck was friendly, outgoing, and offered me a drink in exchange for an honest Unilocal review. If the food wasn’t good, took too long, or was otherwise unsatisfying, it would take a lot more than a free drink to stop me from writing it. I was very happy with the delicious sandwich, the crispy, salty fries, and the quick wait time. I’ll happily lunch at Yankee Doodle’s again.

A food truck serving up all-American fare, color me impressed by the customer service and good eats from YDD. The person who I now know as the owner Josh from other reviews enticed me over to score a free sample of his food while parked at Aqueduct’s Wood Memorial race day. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries, which was amazing and better than I would have gotten from a sit-down restaurant for sure. I find it hard to believe anyone would not be flattered by the quality of this food truck, and I’ve been to a handful of food truck festivals already. If you don’t like it American though, you might want to avoid this one– I asked what kind of cheese was going to be on my sandwich… «What kind do you think?» *points at side of truck* Yup, American cheese!

Writing this review for my husband Kyle who doesn’t Unilocal. So the guy on the truck told my hubby he could have a free drink if he wrote a Unilocal review but that it was on the honor system. So as an honest American Kyle is keeping his word, at least by proxy, through me he is… Kyle said the place was good enough for a review whether asked for one or not! The truck was parked on 47th between Lex and Park today when he tried it. They went around 2:00 pm so the line wasn’t too nutty as it normally would be during New York power lunch prime time. He ate the Club Sandwich. He loved the all white meat, fried chicken. He appreciated the quality of the chicken and that it was real chicken and not fast food pressed and formed mystery bleached and breaded«white meat.» He also loved the Texas toast for a delivery system and the Spirit of ’76 sauce. He said that although its your basic chicken sandwich, it wasn’t basic at all! He was a bit bummed that they didn’t have diet coke. The guy told him that diet soda was un-American. But what’s more American than eating greasy, cheesy, fatty goodness, and washing it down with a «healthy» diet coke?! That’s the one thing makes you feel a little less guilty about your guilty pleasure! And that hypocritical justification for bad choices is what America is all about! We love our contradictions like how we fly private jets but drive Prius cars, or create hashtags to end world suffering but never get off our butts and actually do anything! Come on man! That’s ‘Merica! Give me my damn diet coke with my 1200 calorie sandwich and fries! Other than that, hubby was feeling dandy! It’s a bit of a diet buster but who cares? It’s New York, you’ll mostly walk off the calories! Fried chicken, killer special sauce, and Texas toast, you can’t go wrong!

This truck has long been a favorite of mine, and I can’t see that changing anytime soon. Yankee Doodle Dandy’s, as far as I know, parks at the South Street Seaport 7 days a week. They do burgers, grilled cheeses, salads… and they’re all good, don’t get me wrong, but their chicken tenders are really what’s special here. They’re fresh, and perfectly breaded and fried. Throw in some really good fries on the side and you’ve got a great meal. Just make sure you get some of their homemade Spirit of ’76 sauce on the side to dip your food and fries in… it’s absurd how good that stuff is. My go-to item recently has been a grilled cheese with their chicken tenders… and holy crap, I’m hooked. It’s not on the menu, but they’ve always made it for me when I ask for it. I dare you to order one and not love it… it’s fantastic. Also, the owner is the man. Josh really cares about the customers and the quality of the food, and it really shows. In short, the food(ESPECIALLY their chicken) is phenomenal, the service is great, and you’re getting a pretty substantial amount of food for your money. I really couldn’t recommend this truck more. Seriously, try it!
