I’ve been a customer for a while now, it helps that I work on Broadway. This bar is the perfect spot for a Friday after work, I usually go to the 2nd floor, prices are very good, bartender is very nice, and food is great if you decide to get some Fries or rings.

This is(sadly?) one of my favorite places on Earth. It has everything I want from a dive bar except maybe Big Buck Hunter, a photo booth, and erotic photo hunt. I’ve been coming here for 7+ years with my coworkers and it never disappoints. It is nothing special in the most splendid way possible. Drinks are cheap, the food is fine, and the staff is very friendly. Protip: the wine shop next door has free tastings on Fridays.

You don’t go to the White Horse for its scenery, but a cheap beer and lunch is where it’s at. Cheeseburger deluxe with a Goose IPA will cost you $ 12. Guinness, Bud and Yuengling are even cheaper. There’s also a food counter if you want the daily special(s). Just don’t expect too much from this place. Not some place I would take my parents, but definitely ok for a work lunch.

I’m totally digging this place! The service and space are way better than I expected from some reviews. I came here around 1PM to pick up lunch for me and a coworker. There were quite a few patrons seated and some people stopping in for pick up like me. I was in and out in 10 minutes. Reaaaaally friendly staff that greeted me right away and was nice when I wanted to change a part of my order. Best of all NOTAX! Food: — Cheeseburger deluxe with onion rings $ 6.50 — What you would expect, filling and reasonably priced — Pork roast with potato hash and fries(starch is love) $ 8.00 — pleasantly surprised at how good it is! It was a little underseasoned(which i prefer to over seasoned) but nothing a little salt and pepper couldn’t fix. would seriously come back to try another one of there entrée and two sides!

This is the definition of an old school divey bar. Poorly lit, cool atmosphere where all types of people pop in for their good prices and even better food. Right up my alley! After going to Ellis island and the Statue of Liberty and running around all day we were exhausted. I found this place was within walking distance of where the ferry dropped us off at. Perfect! We were a group of four and I was a bit concerned we wouldn’t fit at any of the tables but we got a nice half table/half booth in the corner of the restaurant. The service was great. Towards the middle of our meal, I had realized that there was only what looked like to be ONE guy behind the bar?! The restaurant itself is kinda small but he seemed to be the only one working the bar and all the tables he had!!! Wow. If I had to guess, I’d say he was probably the owner. Great great service. He was super knowledgeable. Our food was delicious and our beers were cheap. Really dug this atmosphere! Pros: the prices, the food, the service, wifi, a lot of tv’s with the football games on Cons: small, crowded(but I didn’t mind) Would I go back? Yes! If you’re in the FIDI area, check this place out! **tip: the winter goose ale beer was great!

Went here for lunch. Glad I did. The hamburger was delicious and I got a full meal for under $ 8! Although it has the typical bar feel(dark, etc.), the service was quick and friendly. I would definitely come back here.

The beer was nice and cheap. The food was mediocre; however, I didn’t like the Dixie paper plates that were offered for the meal. For future reference, I would like clean DISH plates. Other than that, the service and quality overall was great!

Service was OK. Looks like this place is visited by locals only. The place it self is dark, cramp, and a little dirty. The food tasted like it was frozen and microwaved. IMO, this is a place to drink and not eat. No thanks!

A wonderful shit hole with room for all types of drinkers: financebros, blue collar workers, and everything in between. Drinks are cheap and the food is sort of a joke — but you should realize that’s the case as soon as you step in the door. The place sort of advertises its diviness. There’s table service, but it’s fairly poor as it’s usually the bartender who has to come out from behind the bar to wait on the tables. I suggest sitting at the bar for the best results. An essential sort of place in the often soulless financial district.

I’ve been coming here for years. It might be my favorite bar in the FiDi area. Not bougie and it serves its purpose. Want a place that just serves cheap yet strong drinks, edible lil bites of food, and quick service? Come to White Horse. When I say strong drinks I mean it. I probably forgot to write a review for this place previously because I can hardly ever remember my night once I leave here. Yes, the drinks are that strong. I WARNEDYOU.

Comemos o cheeseburger Deluxe, que estava delicioso! A cerveja custou 4 dólares e tem mais de 500ml. Recomendo!

We stopped in for a burger and a beer, and the burger was SOGOOD! it was only $ 4! including cheese! The place was full of young little lawyer types, but then some old man lawyer guys staggered in and they were awesome. Our server was an older gentleman who seemed to be taking care of the whole place, and doing a great job of it. The cool thing about this place was the open kitchen in the front, it was weird. But neat. Different to see. Will return!

Atmosphere was casual, but the decorating was kind of rough. Service was very slow even with all three floors open. I didnt really find a theme of anything to make it more than just a bar. The chicken tenders and The Exhange sandwich made the expierience much better. It may have just been the third floors armosphere that wasnt appealing. Id have to check out the rest to give the bar my best review. But with the third floor so unappealing, why have it if an atmosphere isnt translated to each floor.

Price: cheap Food: mediocre(burger had nothing on it… except patty and buns) Service: crap Does it to hurt to at least smile when a customer walks in? I ordered food when it was barely busy(maybe 4 people at the bar) and the response I got was a smirky«you can order when i’m ready». Apparently, customers are annoying to them. When I get the bill, it’s not even itemized. No mentioning what was ordered. just numbers. I ask her to itemize the bill. then I tell her that she’s wrong on one item and her response«Honey, I’ve been doing this for years.» I guess you never make mistakes if you’ve been doing it a lot. I didn’t make a fuss because the amount was small. So in hindsight, I think I should’ve left a better tip. Here’s a tip: hire people who actually wanna be there.

I like this place. When I’m in the area I always come here for quick, cheap eats. It does what it’s designed to do. The burgers aren’t extraordinary, the drinks are just standard drinks, but it’s a respite from the generic chains and lunch-spots of the Financial District — an area that caters to the 8am-6pm finance types, some tourists, and not much else. In other words, no one really lives in the financial district so it can be tough to find a decent neighborhood spot. Stop in, if you’re around.

We went around 3pm which may be why everything was so unpleasant. The server never actually greeted us by saying hello or welcome, etc. She just walked up and asked what we wanted to drink. When she came back to the table, she dropped off waters and menus. She returned a few minutes later and just stood there. I was waiting for her to say something, but she didn’t. We looked up at her and then she asked«Do you need more time?» We placed our order. I got the burger and my friend got a salad and mashed potatoes. The burger was fair. I’ve had way better. I’ve had worse. My friend did not enjoy her salad and is convinced the mashed potatoes were from a box. She only ate a couple of bites until she decided she simply couldn’t do it. The server stayed behind the bar and never checked in on us again until I raised my hand after finishing my burger. I told her my friend wasn’t going to eat hers because she did not enjoy the taste at all, but since I had eaten mine, we would be willing to pay for the burger. She returned having charged our card for the entire meal. When I called her back and questioned her about it, she seemed confused that we didn’t want to pay for the whole meal. I explained again and she then spoke to the manager and re-ran our card for the correct amount, but didn’t give us the receipt showing that she had refunded the other portion. I went to the bar and asked her about it and she had to dig through the trash to find it. Such an unpleasant experience.

The open kitchen in the middle of the bar is a pretty cool thing to see. Generally, this is a laid back, divey Irish Pub. You can enjoy a standard mixer here. From my observation this is a «shot and beer» type of establishment. Drinks are relatively inexpensive and the service is friendly. Not excellent, not bad. An okay place to stop for a casual drink in the Financial District.

Cerveja superbarata no Financial District. 3 dólares apenas. Pra tapear a fome, a mussarela empanada cai bem e também tem preço honesto

What more do you want? Their moto here is «every hour is happy hour.» Boom bam done. Everything is super cheap from the beers to the food. $ 3 beers on tap all day everyday??? Thank God this place isn’t by my apt or I would have a problem. The staff is super friendly and they make good recommendations. This bar is also huggggge. There is so much space to run around when you become drunk. Two floors of playing space. They have awesome drunk munchie foods as well. We had the nachos for $ 7 and the banging chicken tenders for $ 6.50. Both hit the spot as we slurped down our drinks. We will be back soon!

Classic Financial District dive bar. Best prices you can find in Manhattan. Good atmosphere. Good bartenders. What more could you ask for? This place isn’t a dump but you’ll find $ 3 beers(and not just shitty light beers). They play classic rock and serve cheesy puffs. The food is good for five bar food.

Am I starting to like FiDi?! This sentiment may be a bit of a stretch, but having a place like White Horse in the neighborhood certainly doesn’t hurt in efforts to changing the way I feel about the soulless amalgam of steel, concrete, suits, tall people(in said suits), blah eating establishments, and the stench of money whose sum of its parts amounts to the Financial District. I was summoned to this part of town, and directed to this exact location for the purposes of celebrating a friend of a friend’s birthday(I otherwise wouldn’t consciously make a decision to trek down to this part of town, unless I was visiting a few«shorties» or «dead rabbits»… buh-zing). Now, I must say, it wouldn’t be too horrible an endeavor to whet my whistle at White Horse in the foreseeable future. A multi-story boozing establishment, dim oil-lamp-esque lighting, complete wooden finish, juke box, and cheap @ss beer are the signature touches this place brings to the Financial District. $ 3PBR tallboys?! Where am I??? A dive in Brooklyn?!? If you were to kidnap me from my Queens apartment, put a sack over my head, drive me around for one or two hours, sit me down here, make me pay for a drink, then ask me what city/neighborhood I was in… you can bet your sweet @ss that NYC’s Financial District would not be one of the first ten+/twenty+/thirty+ locations I would list. And it is for those aforementioned reasons why I probably enjoyed this place so much… and because I enjoyed this place so much, I would not mind, in the slightest, for a follow-up trip.

Excellent, cozy, and an inexpensive bar in the heart of the financial district. This place gets really crowded on Thursday and Friday nights. I usually order their Smithwicks with chicken tenders and fries. You can find a variety of working professionals and tourists just enjoying their drinks and having a relaxing time in one of the historical bars in FIDI.
