Wendy’s

I love Wendy’s (out of all the other fast food chains). The Wendy’s here is relatively clean. I like their bar seating more so than the booth seatings.
The workers here look a little unhappy, but what do you expect?
Nothing special, nothing bad– it’s just a regular Wendy’s.
There’s a passcode for bathroom usage. You won’t get it on your receipt if you buy it to-​go.

Service was pretty fast. Line moved along and a guy was calling out order numbers at a rapid clip. The food — Jr. Cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, fries from real potatoes and coke — were all fresh. Place was reasonably clean to stay and eat in including the bathroom.

First time going into this Wendy’s, and the last. Okay long line, yeah not surprised for it being in union square, but just so overly crowded by the register. Employees, you know those words please and thank you, use them, and also it wouldn’t hurt to smile once in a while. Alright I’m not one to complain about a penny or two when they don’t give it to me but a quarter I mean come on. Next I said to go please and they give it to me on a tray, when I say nicely that I ordered to go the guy threw my food in a bag and got chili on half the bag so granted by hands have chili on them. I start taking my food out and I ordered a 6 piece chicken nuggets and they gave me 5, guys it’s not that hard to count! And I also asked for honey mustard and they gave me barbecue, it says on the receipt honey mustard. No I didn’t eat there because the tables are dirty and it’s the high school/​middle school kids hang out spot… no thank you. (For the record I do like Wendy’s food just not this specific one)

The food was decent but the customer service could use some dramatic help. The lady that took my order (Rasheema — forgive me on the spelling) must hate her job or have had a really bad day. I work retail so I know how tough it can be to be happy on a bad day but this was surprising.

Yesterday was the first time I tried a burger at Wendy’s (Dave’s hot ‘N juicy Cheesburger) and it’s absolutely fantastic!
IIt’s very delicious and you can taste its freshness, unlike many other fast food places. I’m surprised that this place doesn’t have mamy branches or its not as famous as other places. I will definitely get back.

I actually like Wendy’s a lot, and am often near this location.
However, I actively avoid it, because this Wendy’s is particularly dirty and slow, and the customer service is shit.
I am born and raised in NYC. My definition of rude is probably a lot more lenient than the tourists passing thru, but the folks who work here fit the bill. I have never gone in here and been treated respectfully. I used to think that I was always getting the mean cashier… but they’re ALL the mean cashier. They’re nasty as hell.
All I really ask for is to not be sneered at while I’m ordering, not be dealt with with repressed rage as I tell you the number of my combo, not be yelled at angrily when I can’t hear my order over the crowd, and not be looked at like I’m a complete fool while trying to get over to get my food while other people stand in my way, but nobody who works here can contain themselves.
Amazingly, they’re worse than The Strand. While you’ll sometimes get a super rude/​racist/​homophobic worker at The Strand and feel like shit walking out, they’re not all consistently like that. Meanwhile, every time I go in here, I am guaranteed to be treated like scum.
The bathrooms are the worst in the area, too, and the tables are usually dirty. Orders take a long-​ass time to get filled, then the server acts mad at you like you didn’t just hand them their money. I know this is a high traffic spot, but it’s basically the worst.
They make the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell next door look upscale.

I love Wendy’s above all similar competing fast food chains. Why aren’t there more Wendy’s in NY? There should be at least one in Brooklyn! It’s fucked up that there isn’t one out in BK. Who did this? Why?!
This Wendy’s is good but not the best in Manhattan due to being in a high traffic area. High amount of people come through, two bathrooms, one floor.
I like the son of baconator but all the sandwiches are good.

Very slow service and not nice people. I saw this poor guy begging to use their bathroom and they refused to let him use it because he hasn’t bought anything. That’s really nasty. So I cancelled my order and told them it’s wrong not to treat people nicely. I will never go back to this Wendy’s.

The food is standard wendys but some of the people at the register are soooo rude. Can’t understand why if I say thank you, you look at me like I’m crazy. Either way, I got what I came for but just make sure you don’t do anything else to make an already miserable person more upset

Came here monday night around closing time 11:30 ish with my fiancé. While ordering my food i see a man (presumably the manager) yelling at his coworker. Not giving a warning but YELLING then he starts to yell at all of the staff memebers. The staff were not friendly or engaging but i dont blame them i think the man named Jean was the reason to this. They do not get paid enough as it is now they have to deal with verbal abuse from a rude manager. I hope he gets fired for the sake of the employees and business because i will NEVER BE RETURNING thanks JEAN!

Not too many Wendy’s locations in Manhattan so I’m glad that there’s on in this neighborhood.
The food is always good but the location needs more cleaning. The frosty machine is also obviously disgusting so I wouldn’t order one here.
My only real complaint about this location is that in the odd hours, there’s a ton of recovering addicts here and then during normal hours, you have a bunch of ghetto kids hanging out here.

This is one of those Wendy’s you only come in when you can’t think of anything else in your hunger range or price range for that day. Union square has many better food options like glaze teriakyi, chipolte or even my favorite halal place right there near NYU dorms. It usually is very crowded especially around lunch time. Be prepared to wait and your order night be wrong, where my chicken nuggets. I’m just saying. Check it out when you are just bored also.

Worst Wendy’s experience. Not only was it dirty and a few bugs were crawling around the tables, but the place basically serves as a homeless shelter. You are greeted at the door by a panhandler as you walked in, then we were approached twice by two other panhandlers as we ate. My coworkers and I all agreed that we won’t be visiting this location again

This place… probably has the most homeless people traffic in all of Union Square. Not that that’s a problem. It’s a Wendy’s, I really shouldn’t expect anything more. Although, I was pretty upset when I had to wait in line for 20 minutes to use the bathroom for what I assume, the guy in front of me was shooting heroine. I remember your face sir. If I ever have to wait in line behind you again, I’m going to shove that heroine needle in your mom, if you know what I’m sayin’. *High Five*
Anywho, I only get the Homestyle Chicken Sandwich & I’ve never had a problem with it. The lines move quickly & the service is also well paced. I was pretty upset when they didn’t have the Barnyard Burger. It’s one of those secret menu things that puts every kind of meat they have in a single sandwich. Life is beautiful sometimes. No, but really, you broke my heart a little Wendy’s. Just. A. Little.
P. S. Some of the tables have hooks on the support beam to hold your bags or jacket. That’s super convenient, I don’t know why we don’t see that more often.

Like Wendy’s food in general, particularly the baked potatoes. This Wendy’s was so dirty and disgusting. Eaten there twice and both time got fleabites! Yuk. Make me wonder about cleanliness of food preparation. How did the ‘A’ rating happen?

I have been to this Wendy’s a few times when I come to Manhattan, and I must say that the place looks nice and it’s kept clean except the bathroom. As far as the food it’s good but just like every other Wendy’s franchise. The line for the bathroom and for the food is usually long but that’s to be expected when you’re in Union Square on a Saturday.
The Manager and employees there are so disorganized, it seem like they didn’t know what they were doing back there and it took 20 minutes for a Junior Bacon Cheeseburger, a small chili, and a drink (I have no idea how’s that even possible). Sometimes the staff even gets the food wrong Every now and then you will see some beggars in front of the fast food restaurant, some who are nice but you have those who are down right nasty.
I recommend giving this place a try but take it to go because the place does get crowded and seating is minimal.

This Wendy’s is the only Wendy’s that serves Union Square in conjunction with Chelsea/​Flatiron Districts. Long unruling line and chaotic pickup area that management are incompetent to control the disorganization. Staff are oblivious to pay attention to one’s order for proper fulfillment.
Minimal seating is available at this location. There are many vagrants hanging outside by the entrance all the time at this location. What would Dave Thomas (Founder and CEO of Wendy’s) think of what has become just one of his restaurant chain in 2013?

It’s Wendy’s. The location is dung. Bums and crazies.

Im not sure what’s with the bad rating here. But let’s be honest. It’s a fast-​food joint. Just order and go.
It taste like every other Wendy’s I’ve been too.
Actually, I ordered the Double Cheese Burger ½ pound and it was less oily than other Wendy’s I’ve been too. So thumbs up on that.
