Had a decent time here around the 8pm hour waiting to go to dinner at another spot. A bit cramped and pricey with a slightly diveyish feel mixed with high brow cocktails and single cantilevered stools around the bar and a few tables in the back. I had the cammando but wish I went with the old fashioned. My friend really enjoyed the bitberger. Seems like a great place to go with a limited number of friends. Can be too loud to speak with more than a couple people.

This place has a cool décor and excellent cocktails with great service. It’s a modern mixology spot where the bartenders and staff are friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant. It’s a great place to go after work, for a quick drink or if you’re in the mood — all night long! Cheers!

Weather Up is a nice place for a good cocktail. It is a little on the pricey side, even for the Tribeca/FiDi area. It has an interesting and classy décor with white tile, marble and wood. On a good night, I’d give this four stars, but I have had some inconsistent experiences here. One time service will be very attentive; the next time you have to send up a flare to get the bartenders’ attention. One visit the lights are low and chill; the next time they have the lights at their full wattage, making the place a little too bright and stark. And I’ve visited once when the music volume was appropriate for conversations, but twice it’s been really loud.(The last time, they were blasting The Rolling Stones at a volume that literally made my ears ring, despite the fact there were all of four customers in the joint. I asked the bartender if he could turn it down a bit, and he accommodated the request.) A little more consistency and attention to detail, and this would easily be a four-star cocktail lounge.

A great spot for a drink, especially after having dinner out. It’s a warm inviting bar with plenty of seating for such a space. Great cocktails for sure!

You have two options… Order a cocktail off of the drink menu or just tell your bartender some ingredients you would like in a drink. The bar staff can turn your wishful thoughts into reality. Admittedly, I was a novice and ordered my first drink off the menu called Inferno(very good spicy/sweet drink served in a gimlet). I wised up for the second round and told the bartender I was looking for cucumber and gin. I received the most incredible cocktail and it was presented in such a sassy and modern glass. I would definitely return.

Weather Up is a good little drinking spot in FiDi that is definitely not your typical finance bro hangout. It has a French bistro feel with shiny white tiles and dim, soft lighting. It had an upscale vibe without being stuffy. The positives are that is was not packed with tons of happy hour bro’s and the drinks were great from regular old vodka and sodas as well as the Moscow mule I ordered. There were some small plates as well from the oysters to the sausage and mustard to the burrata and toast. The burrata was by far the best. The negatives were that drinks were a little on the pricey side and the service was not very good at the bar. We constantly had to wave the bartenders down to get their attention. One time, I watched a bartender messing around on his phone, not paying attention to the customers while I tried to get his attention to order a drink.

Being a big fan of the Weather Up in Austin, I had to make it to at least one of their two locations in New York, with this being their second. Perhaps on my next visit I’ll be able to make it to the original in Brooklyn. I really dig the vibe of the place. They have great music playing and tasty cocktails. Reed is awesome too. I really enjoy the food at the Austin Weather Up, but did not try any here. It sounded pretty good and I’ll try to partake next time I’m here. This is a great environment to get your craft cocktail drink on by people who really know what they’re doing.

The drinks are always ok. The wine list ok. The beers are ok. The décor is ok. The staff is ok. Never outright awful, never great. If there were more things open late in TriBeCa I doubt we’d ever come here. It’s not bad or anything. It’s just ok. And maybe ok is good enough sometimes. The whole thing feels like what Epcot Center will recreate when they show people in the future how hipsters lived, dressed and had a fascinating penchant for consuming alcohol in places that look like a restoration hardware.

Some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. It’s expensive but you get what you pay for. Good location and a great atmosphere. I love coming here with a group of friends when I’m downtown.

Note to self: there are 2 locations for Weather Up in NY. I pick Weather Up for a date given the reviews on here. After my date went to this location accidentally instead of the one in Brooklyn that was right by where we both lived(d’oh), I played the part of the gentleman and came back into the city. Weather Up is what I expected: a nice cocktail bar. I loved the subway-ish tiles on the ceiling, and the fact that the place wasn’t dominated by wood paneling like most cocktail bars. I definitely wish it was a bit brighter in there though. Service was friendly enough, although a bit slow. I got a whiskey cocktail that was a take off on an old fashioned. It was alright, definitely not worth the $ 16 price tag. I was going to go more adventurous, but after trying my date’s more unique mezcal cocktail, I reneged on that(read: did NOT like haha). Overall for the price point this place wasn’t bad, it was just sort of blah. In this sense the bar matched the date; not bad by any means, just not all that remarkable. For these prices, even a speakeasy has to produce a great atmosphere or one-of-a-kind cocktail; since that didn’t happen here, I probably won’t be back unless this absolutely fits the bill for some reason. Oh well, worth a shot and you can definitely do worse.

This looks like a date night spot, but you’ll see groups of professionals hanging out here after work during the end of the week. It’s mostly crowded around the bar. Both times I came with a group of 6 and we were able to easily get one of the booths in the back. Good for drinks, but eat beforehand, as the food is small and expensive. I did order the butter nut squash crostini with ricotta, walnuts, and honey both times, which was really good to snack on. I need to make that at home. Indian Paintbrush(Vodka, Black Tea, Peach, Lemon, Club Soda). It might be too sweet for some people, but it was so refreshing. They have these cool looking straws that look like dentist tools and ice that comes in one large block.

Now that I’ve been to both locations of Weather Up it is time to write a review, even though I never know exactly what to say about bars in general. I came to this particular location with a group of friends for a couple of rounds of drinks Saturday night. The locale itself is beautiful, and we were seated at a booth in the window. I started out with a Michelada, which turned out to be one of the better ones I have had. Served with a Lone Star beer and hot sauce with a slight hint of Old Bay Seasoning, it spiced up my night! This was followed by an ounce of Mezcal, which I also enjoyed. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their drinks, too. Weather Up is definitely a perfect place to grab well-concocted drinks in a low-key environment, either with a group of friends or on a date. It is also a place that I highly recommend!

I had plans with a friend to meet for dinner at a restaurant next door, so we figured we’d pop in here for a quick drink or two. The bar is actually very pretty. They clearly put a lot of time into their décor and presentation. That’s where the pro’s end for me. There were only about ten people at the bar, including us, the service was extremely slow. The drinks were good, but I do not believe there was any alcohol actually poured into them. Have they become a fan of the European way of measuring pours? I was impressed that they had a drink sheet with cocktails that ranged from $ 55-$ 100. I really want to know who is ordering a one hundred dollar cocktail.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place living in the ‘hood. On one hand, their drinks are STRONG and gets the job done. I love the décor. On the other hand, depending on the day, the same bartender can either be your best friend or a typical douch-ey suspender wearing hipster bartender. I recognize that you probably can’t remember all your customers, but when I ask for the same exact drink every time(the ingredients, because I can’t remember the name of the fancy drink) — please don’t act like I’m asking you to turn water into wine. Oh and the«cheese plate» tastes like cardboard. I’ll probably keep coming back for now, but still on the hunt for a neighborhood cocktail place that is a bit more consistent.

I didn’t know what to expecting coming to Weather Up for a friends 30th birthday celebration, but I was very pleasantly surprised! The bar has a sophisticated feel, but a young professional crowd. No bro’s here, only clean-cut people looking to have some really good drinks. And speaking of the drinks… excellent. The bartenders are fast, attentive, and craft the perfect cocktails! They even put in a metal stirrer which is an awesome touch. It gets pretty busy and packed inside, but there is plenty of room to walk around or grab a booth to sit in. So happy I found out about this place!

I went to Weather Up on a warm Wednesday night with four friends. We were starving and in desperate need of an adult beverage. And when I say adult, I mean expertly crafted and poured with care with a side of decent knowledge base. We Unilocaled and Unilocaled, but were in a weird area over by the Hudson River and Battery Park City. Sort of a dead zone. So in the spirit of adventure and new things, we crossed the highway to reach Weather Up. Totally my style of bar, with the white subway tiled walls, imprinted tin ceilings and tufted leather banquets. All cozy and manly, with a side of vintage flair without being too obvious. A fireplace would have put me a tad over the edge. You guys know how much I love a good roaring fire. The waitress came over with a menu. One for the table. I had to ask for another. Perusing the menu I wasn’t completely enthralled with the multiple and well composed options. I was feeling bourbon. Sometimes I girl just needs her brown drink. I did think the«Bartender’s Choice» option on the bottom of the list of cocktails was a fun touch. I went with it. I ordered a Basil Hayden’s Old Fashioned a bit on the sweet side. It was one classy-ass drink. Strong and flavorful, with only a hint of sweetness, of which I wish there was more. The orange rinds were perfectly shaved, saving just enough tartness to blend with the remainder of the drink. Thank you sir, may I have another? We also ordered off their small plates menu, the grilled cheese, heirloom tomato tart, almonds and olives, pretzel with cheese and crudite platter. The grilled cheese was decent, but it had fruit in it, which took me by surprise. Apples, I think? Not that it was bad, just not really my jam. Heirloom tomato tart for the win, light puff pastry crust with mini tomatoes painstakingly sliced on a mandolin and crumbled goat cheese. Likely baked in an oven then crisped in a broiler and served with a side of greens. I actually liked it a lot. Probably my favorite of the bunch. Almonds and olives were as expected, though the almonds had a very light, dare I say… candy… coating. Hard to tell with all that bourbon filling my brain. The olives were some of the best I have had. Interesting flavor that was unexpected. I like! Crudite platter was a julep cup full of julienned veggies, with some sort of dip I can’t decipher. Not in love, but totally fine. Pretzel and cheese(Sigmund’s!) was also a favorite, all warmed up and soft, a good ratio of bread to salt. Cheese was melted and mostly stayed that way without getting all awkward, weird and clumpy, with a bit of a zing to it. I think it was beer cheese. Too bad for you, this is a free site, and I can«think» something is «beer cheese» and you just have to go with it. The service was… slow at best. Our waitress loved filling up our waters, but not much else. And when we needed something, we had to stare expectantly at the bartender in the hopes he would send our girl over. Thankfully, that’s exactly what he did. On more than one occasion. Asking for the check was painful. Come on! Make haste! It was quiet enough to hear the person next to you, but not so quiet you had to whisper to keep it private. Just go for the skilled bartender. And maybe get a side of tomato tart and some pretzels while you are at it.

High prices, terrible service. It’s not clear what this place wants to be. Is it a neighborhood casual(by Tribeca Standards) place or a high end cocktail place. If it’s the later then they have some work to do.

I was actually excited to come to this place, didn’t realize we had such a cool speakeasy bar in the neighborhood. The hostess was nice and welcoming, the interior was bright and lively. I liked their booth seating, perfect for bigger groups of 4-ish people. We sat down at the booth behind the bar, got the menus, I asked for the bartender’s choice, and it just wend downhill from there. I told our waitress I like bubbly, and something sweet at the moment, she said great, the bartender will fix up something cool for you. Maybe my expectation was too high, but my drink came, and it tasted like a normal glass of champagne. OK, it did have a hint of pear, which turned out to be some pear liquor he put into the champagne. So that’s it?! Bartender’s choice = champagne + pear liquor? I’m pretty sure I can make that at home. I’m not saying I needed something fancy with dry ice coming out of the glass, but I was honestly expecting something a little less«boring». Anyways, I let it go, because everyone else seemed to enjoy their drinks. THEN, something magical happened, either a cork, or a piece of ice, hit the back of my head. I wasn’t bleeding or anything, but it stings. I looked around, both bartenders at the bar didn’t seem to notice or care, our waitress came over and asked what’s wrong, so I told her some object hit my head. She apologized, but also followed the apology with saying your seating is right behind the bar, so unfortunately sometimes it does happen. I mean WHAT?! I’ve sit enough times either at the bar, or behind the bar at numerous places, not once, have I ever been hit in the back of my head by anything. Now somehow I’m the one to blame for choosing the seat?! OK, to sum it all up, the drinks were not impressive enough to compensate for the fact some foreign object hit my head. If you have to come here, do me a favor and try not to sit at the booth behind bar.

Did a quick in and out the other night. The space is beautiful, the cocktails boozy, the staff knowledgeable and friendly. The clientele is exactly what you would expect for the area… Recommend
