At the end of the day, i’m generally stopping by Walgreen’s either for snacks n’ sodas or greeting cards, and they’ve got both in spades. I’m sure the pharmacy is great, too. they’re always well stocked in Nyquil and Claritin when I need a quick pick me up (or knock me out) … but for me it’s all about the snacks. They’ve got a much wider variety than their new competition down the street.

Why might a small empty plastic bottle cost more than a large full plastic bottle of comparable structural integrity? I’ve got a few hypotheses, including opportunism. A reminder to always consider which special interests support additional regulation (here, TSA regs).

I have used Walgreens for many years, quite honestly primarily do 2 location, 24hr availability, etc. Upon my recent move to NYC I refilled a prescription (rx) online. When I went to pick it up, I brought in a new RX & was told they did not have it in stock. Needless to say there was no offer of any further assistance, ie. when it would be available, another location that may have it, an offer to order it, etc. I had to ask all these questions & basically got an ‘I don’t know’ (translation – ‘I don’t care!!’) & I felt as though it was an extreme inconvenience for them to have to provide service At all!
Fortunately I came across a small pharmacy, Gallery Drug, whom took care of my pharmacy needs – & by the way, Politely & efficiently!

This walgreens has a lot of merchandise and the super perk is the Redbox. The people who work behind the counter, however, are generally unfriendly and unwilling to help you (rather than check you out extremely slowly). Location is great and size of the store is great, but be prepared to spend more time in this Walgreens than any other pharmacy because of the slow service.

Looks small from the outside but big on the inside. The staff is friendly and helpful. Whenever I’m in the neighborhood for a doctors appointment I make a stop here.
