My companion ordered the Buffalo Wings for appetizer and I had the mussels. The Wings were plentiful as he could not finish the entire plate. My Mussels were a little salty but were very good. He ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs for his main course while I had the Sirloin of Beef. Again my companion couldn’t finish the entire plate, but he said the meal was good. I on the other hand enjoyed the french fries and veggies that came with my entrée and the steak was a little too well done for my liking (since I ordered medium rare). We shared the dessert (Tiramisu) of which he really enjoyed and I found it to be very well presented and very tasteful. Overall our meal was ok, the drinks were also good and the dessert was good.

If I could give this place no stars I would. I made the mistake of just looking at a menu online and went in. While so was seated I was looking at the Unilocal reviews and got nervous. Not to mention the place is owned and ran by Indian people. Not being racist just saying if I go to an Indian restaurant and see white people working there I’m not going to eat there. That was my first realization I came to the wrong restaurant. I ordered buffalo wings and my girl ordered mozzarella sticks. What we got were I guess honey bbqish wings and 4 giant mozzarella sticks that seemed to be flash fried as the outside was dark brown and the cheese wasn’t even melted. I sent back my wings as they tasted disgusting and ordered buffalo wings. Then they brought me out new wings in under 2 min which idk what kind of sauce they put on there but all I tasted was vinegar. Mind u these wings looked and had the texture of Tyson wings they sell at the supermarket. 2 sec after I tasted the wings my chicken parm came out and I asked for fra diavolo sauce on it and the pasta. What I got was plain tomato sauce that tasted like delmonte plain sauce with red pepper flakes on it. The chicken was so greasy that when I cut into it grease literally came out of the chicken and tasted like fish. So basically they do not clean their oil. I was so disgusted and refused to try anything else as I had not eaten all day and had already wasted so much time there. The waiters were nice and they did not charge me for the wings or the chicken Parm. Idk how these guys came to owning an «Italian restaurant» but they need to close it down and come up with something else.

This place is AWFUL. The service is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. While we waited 40 minutes for our tomato and mozzarella appetizer to come out, two tables next to us got up and left because of how bad the waitstaff was.

Amazing meal and great service. Many options but picked from the $ 24 three course menu. The app size given was enough for the whole table. My entrée was the porchini mushroom ravioli and was one of the best pastas I’ve ever had. The portion sizes are great but the sangria I had was not too good. Very intimate place and the tables are a little too close together. Over all I wish I had more of that pasta now. Our table of four was very satisfied.

whatever they need to do to fix the issues we had here, they can start with NOT arguing about our valid complaints.
For a party of 8, at least 6 meals should be satisfactory.
2 people got what they ordered and wanted.
The stuffed chicken and chicken parm were good, BUT the service was NOT good, and the balance of the orders were not made in timely fashion.
The medium rare bloody burger with egg came without egg and medium well.
The margherita pizza wasn’t made with fresh mozzarella and basil.
They asked if the chicken sandwich should be medium rare.
WTF???
The water was good.
We were there Saturday 12/​19/​2015 at 730 pm.

Hands down, the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in ten years of living in NYC.
First off, our food took over an hour to arrive. (Not exaggerating, we timed it.) The restaurant wasn’t even half full, and there were several waiters idling by the bar; and yet during that hour, no one came by to check on us or offer any explanation (let alone apology) for the delay. Our waiter visited us only once after our order, coming by with some soft flavorless white bread that might as well have been a bun from a street cart — no resemblance to what’s in the photos here.
When our food finally arrived, they had screwed up two of the orders in our group. The waiter then argued with us when we tried to have him fix the problem. I don’t mean a little push-​back, I mean a full-​blown argument. I was stunned.
Even the orders they got correct were pretty bland. Seriously, I don’t know how they stay in business. There are lots of other places in the neighborhood with better food (and at better prices!) Spare yourself, and go to them instead.

So-​so. We were desperate to find a place with the football game on (previous place was packed) and ran in here without much thought.
Service was more or less as advertised in negative reviews but we were here for couple hours so not a problem. Food was ok. Pizza was good. Other stuff alright.
So if your seeking a great place look harder if you wonder in and check reviews after seated hang around.

I had a steak and I actually didn’t know that it was going to be a sandwich! It was 100% delicious. This is a nice, small restaurant to visit if you’re looking for a quick bite before a night on the town. I would be more than happy to pay them another visit and maybe try out their drinks.

I came here after a few drinks at a bar around the corner. we ordered Chicken francese and pasta with chicken. Neither were (BAD) just not good. i mean it was flavor less. Bread they serve here is not good for NYC. Drinks they served looked good, did not have one tho.
I would not return for food maybe try a happy hour drink sometime

Been waiting over 2 hours for delivery. I’m about three blocks away. No one picking the phone on their end. :(

The worst service I have ever received in a restaurant. We went for food late night after a concert. Servers literally threw our plates at us and took our utensils before we were finished using them. I will never go back. We had salad and pizza which came out 45 minutes after we ordered it. It was surprisingly decent. The place is filthy. Staff is so rude. They wouldn’t bring us our check and it was another 30 minutes of chaos trying to pay the bill. The server wrote himself a tip on my bill and when I refused to pay the tip I ended up yelling in the restaurant. I would expect they may occasionally have trouble with students but we are regular restaurant goers in our 50s. We can handle some level of bad service but this place takes the cake. Don’t go here even if you are desperate for a late night meal. The falafel place a block away is a much better choice.

I learned my lesson today. If you are going to Unilocal a restaurant to check out the reviews, do it BEFORE you enter the restaurant. Don’t wait until you are already seated. Maybe I’m too nice, but even though we weren’t even served water yet, I would’ve felt bad getting up and leaving. I thought maybe we would get lucky and have a great meal.
Wrong. The service was horrible. It took forever to get the bread for our meal and when it was time to pay, it took forever for them to take my credit card. The servers were not very friendly either.
The bread was good and served warm. We got caprese as an appetizer and it was pretty standard, not extraordinary, but not bad. Three slices of tomato and three slices of mozzarella with lettuce.
My aunt ordered some type of salmon dish in lemon crème sauce. The salmon was burnt and something was definitely off with the sauce. It was sour, and not in a good way. She told one of the waiters and he didn’t really say anything, just went into the back, leaving us to wonder if anyone was going to do something about it. A minute later, our waiter came back. He tried to explain the sauce was supposed to taste like that… my aunt eats all types of food; she’s not a picky eater (I’m very picky and particular in my taste, so maybe I wouldnt be the best to judge if something is bad) so I’m pretty sure if she thinks something tastes off, there’s something wrong. The waiter let my aunt pick something different, so she got a seafood/​pasta dish. They removed the initial dish off the bill.
I got the beef lasagna. I was unimpressed, I’m not sure if it’s the cheese they used, but it wasn’t that good. The garlic bread was okay though.
They get two stars because of how they handled the bad dish of food.

Such a disappointment… My wife, her best friend and I went to this Resteraunt because we couldn’t get an early reservation at Minetta Tavern. The ladies arrived first and I arrived about 20 min after. We ordered sangria and it was actually pretty good. I had the red and the ladies had the white. Then we ordered a Field Green Salad that looked like it was picked from a Wilted Gardens Inc. The apples were brown but I will admit the salad was decent and had a pretty good dressing. I just wish my salad looked like the one sitting across from me. There was no consultancy. My friends salad was perfect in every way. We also ordered Calamari and it wasn’t good at all. Tasted extremely fishy and they tried to hide the fishy taste with a pound of lemon they squeezed on it. I still wasn’t upset until we asked for the check. The waiter had the nerve to to write his tip as if it was automatically included in the bill. He wrote it big on top and then again on the bottom as if I didn’t have a choice. That really pissed us off. I am capable of figuring out my own tip for this lackluster meal. I even have a picture to prove it. The tip wasn’t extra or anything but it’s the principle. Telling what you think you deserve when I’m the one paying. Plus he made some smart remarks when I walked past him to go to the bathroom. Then while waiting for the bathroom I noticed blood smeared on the walls where I was leaning. So nasty and dangerous. I will never eat hear again nor will I suggest it for anyone else.

The restaurant was ok. Staff was good, however the pasta we ordered was extremely salty. We have to send it back. The replacement was delivered in less than 5 mins. Good or bad? This time they drained out the sauce.
I am giving an extra star for the staff.

I’m here with a group of friends and the service is so good! They’re really attentive. I was a little skeptical at first but the food is pretty good :-)

The food is fantastic best thin pizza in the area but the delivery service is crazy wack! Our pizza arrived at the bottom of the box first time and the 2^nd time it arrived cold. And we are 1.5 blocks away. Hope they step up the delivery service because the food is great.

It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed this place. The drink specials are $ 6 now instead of $ 5 but everything on the menu is basically the same. Choosing from the dishes, I’d definitely get the chicken marsala as well as the penne pollo (cooked in a creamy tomato sauce). The scallops with pesto sauce is pretty yummy. The outdoor seating is something that’s hard to find on MacDougal but villagio has it so thumbs up for that.
