Uptown Tattoos & Body Piercing

I recently got my firtst tattoo here. Made by Jesus. He was very friendly and nice. Totally recommend this place!

All 5 of my tattoos have been performed at Uptown Tattoos in Harlem (Artist Joe Savage) and I have been extremely happy with the results. They take there time to sketch your ideas to have you completely satisfied prior to beginning the work. This is a professional establishment that I have recommended to all my friends and family & will continue to do so going forward.

I am still recovering from my horrible experience at this hole in the wall tattoo/​piercing shop. All I asked them to do was put in new nostril jewelry for my 3-​month, almost-​healed nostril piercing. The piercer was rude, did not answer my questions, and practiced below average sanitary measures (i.e. putting on gloves but not washing his hands. Not cleaning the area of my nose where he was to change the jewelry.) I thought, I would prefer better, but it’s only a jewelry change, not an actual piercing. Well, he literally insert three of his fat fingers into my nostril in an attempt to flip it open. It hurt so bad, and I could feel him pinching. It also took him several minutes just to get the new ring in, during which he was shaking his head like «I don’t think this is going to work». After a while of this excruciating pain I was like nevermind, but he was like «Hold on.» Somehow he got the jewelry in, but it has been bleeding, red, and swollen ever since. It didn’t even bleed when I first got it pierced! It was never sore during my healing process! Now I have some large bump next to the piercing, and it hurts so bad I want to take aspirin. I never experienced discomfort or bumps during the previous 3 months that I’ve had it. Don’t you do this for a living!!!

Found these guys from a referral. Joe did my tattoo and he is crazy good and talented. He drew my tattoo freehand. Prices are very very reasonable!
