This place looks like a dump, but at $ 4 the tuna sandwich beats the pre-made but well packaged garbage you’d get at Pret A Manger or Hale and Hardy. Double down on the pickles and oranges and you’ll have a snack for later.

I have some beef with the Dirty Deli. Today I purchased three bags of Cape Cod chips (each says $ 1.09 on the bag) and the total came to $ 5.27!!! Yet yesterday my co-worker bought one bag of the same chips and she was only charged $ 1. And typical Dirty Deli style. they do not provide a receipt.
I will not go into the Dirty Deli until the New Year after this stunt.

I love the dirty deli. When I worked in TriBeCa I came here all the time. The staff is fantastic and some of the most pleasant people I’ve ever dealt with in a deli. Sure, we call it «the dirty deli» but we do so with love. The sandwiches and burgers here were awesome and a lot more food than subway for just a dollar or two more. It’s a no frills type of place. Hole in the wall appearance, but good food at good prices and I’ve found some sodas here (like Pepsi throwback) that I could never find elsewhere. Don’t judge this book by its cover.

Worked next to this place for over a year.
As a result, they provided me with many breakfasts and lunches.
The food is somewhere just above «meh» but below good, edible but not preferable.
Basically it is the only option in the neighborhood where you can get a cheap meal quick.

Ok, I only go here because it’s right around the corner from my job and I just don’t have enough time to walk 5 blocks to another place. United Grocery is understocked. Massively. They have nerve to call themselves a deli. They charge $ 2 for a Kashi go lean bar which is preposterous. They do have bialis though which I love. You know, those flat bagels. Lastly, their service is fast and the deli guys are friendly but the woman behind the register isn’t so friendly.
I need to find another deli close to my job.
