The service and quality of food is excellent, but what really confirms the 5 stars s the excellent lunch menu. Great quality, choice and value. Served until 3pm.

Yum!!! Chile rellenos could have been a little bit more tender but YUM! Good service and the guacamole was excellent. I will definitely be coming back.

Two Lizards gets 5 stars not only for their great tasting food but excellent service. A friend and I came here for dinner and started with fresh guacamole made at our table side. If you like guacamole you must order this, it is made at your table and our waitress adjusted for the spices we wanted. I then got a special they were running with steak and veggies, rice and beans, it was all delicious. Like others have mentioned the seating area is long and narrow, but has a cute ambiance. Our waitress was very attentive and the manager was walking around, jolly man with lots of personality. We will definitely be back.

I had high hopes for you but sadly, you have disappointed me. Unlimited brunch for $ 25 is a great deal but the service just wasn’t there. The whole time we were there, there were at max 6 other people in there with us at any given time — however, we were made to feel like they were rushing us out. It’s one thing if there was a line out the door and we were lingering after our meal, but literally NOONE is there — what’s the rush? Also, they came by with the check probably the second that our hour limit was up and then kept coming back to see if we were ready to pay. I get it, rules are rules but it leads me to believe that we were gypped because we took forever to decide on what we wanted to eat. Again, it wasn’t even like we were chugging your water downed mimosas and needed a refill every couple of minutes. The fish tacos were decent but the portion was super small.

Gave it another shot and the food was much better the second around. Drinks were tasty, too! My one complaint was the meat in the carne asada tacos was very fatty.

Great Mexican restaurant in Yorkville. This place rightfully attracts a crowd. I have been here several times during my 4+ years of residency in the Upper East Side, and it has not let me down to date. I would recommend making a reservation if you plan on going during peak hours. The restaurant is on the smaller side so seating is limited in comparison to other places nearby. The atmosphere is lively and casual, which is good for unwinding with some friends and getting the weekend started. Service has been very good in my experiences, as staff members have been friendly and attentive. The food and drinks are what keeps me coming back. They have a large selection of tequilas, and the cocktails are very good. I usually throw back a couple of classic margaritas, but the rosada margarita is also enjoyable. You cannot go wrong ordering the guacamole(made to order and prepared tableside) or elote asado for appetizers. Some of my favorite entrées include the enchiladas poblanas, mole poblano, and steak tacos. I recommend trying it sometime. I am looking forward to my next visit!

The food here was OK. I tried the cheese enchiladas. Don’t get me wrong, I am a cheese lover but they put MORE cheese on top of the already cheesy enchiladas. I was not impressed with the rice and refried beans. It seems like the rice was undercooked and the refried beans a little watered down. The other thing that I don’t like is that they CHARGE you for chips and salsa! You usually get the chips and salsa for free when you first sit down before ordering your food.

Fantastic little Mexican restaurant with great dimly lit cozy ambiance, character, authentic Mexican food and wonderful service. In nicer weather they open the front windows and if you can get it the front table is prime seating with open air and facing 1st avenue. They serve their margaritas in mason jars and make my favorite Mezcel margarita fabulously. This weekend my friend tried a couple of their interesting specialty margaritas recommended by the server and enjoyed those too. Freshly made table side guacamole is a must have, and the food is wonderful — my fave dish is their combo fajitas which have everything — chicken, steak, shrimp, veggies. Service at the bar and tables has always been great and the manager /owner — not sure which but he has been there every time I’ve gone and is extremely hard working, present and friendly. The crowd is hit or miss: I’ve been here when it’s really crowded, semi crowded and also when it’s almost empty. Definitely recommend for dinner or drinks with a date or friends.

Met with some of my friends to ask them to be my groomsmen here. The Mexican mojitos are excellent. Tacos are so so but the guacamole was AMAZING and the service was great! They make the guacamole in front of you which was cool. Try to pineapple tequila too.

Came here on Saturday during brunch time. They have a $ 25 special for all you can drink with entrée. We went for their brunch a la cart because we didn’t want 2 full entrees. We got the seafood ceviche which was good. I liked the avocado that was included. Also got their tortilla soup which was ok. The chips, queso cheese, and avocado came on the side like a d.i.y activity. I wish there was a bit more food to go with the soup. Maybe chopped tomatoes or onions or cilantro. Or even make it a chicken soup! It’s only 3 stars and not 4 because the place was loud. Think the unlimited booze from the brunch special got people screaming at each other lol

Hands down, my favorite brunch place on the UES! Came for brunch today with a group of 8 under a reservation for noon. We were seated immediately. I was surprised it wasn’t more packed! We all opted for the price fixed bottomless brunch. This deal is $ 25 for an entrée plus bottomless mimosas, sangrias, frozen margaritas, and tequila sunrises for an hour. Oh boy did we have fun. The food was great– decently portioned. They have a TV and they were happy to have the NFL games on for us. We were seated near the bar with the TV, probably because I mentioned how important it was for us to see the NFL game. The staff was amazing, and the bartender was great. He was generous with our 1 hour time limit. Towards the end of our meal, we were given complimentary strawberry tequila shots by the manager, I believe. What amazing service! We were sort of overstaying our welcome because we wanted to stay until halftime before transitioning to another bar. But the waitstaff was patient with us and didn’t make us feel like we had to leave immediately. They continued to refill our waters, even after we paid. Seriously, Two Lizards is a hidden gem. I’m a student in the area, and I will definitely be back with my gang for more bottomless brunches, especially since it’s a 5 minute walk for us! Thanks for taking care of us, Two Lizards! See you again soon!

I had the fajitas which I found really impressive. I generally prefer something more unique but here was a well made version of the staple dish. There is a uniquely large, healthy portion of vegetables alongside the meat of choice. They provide four tortillas and minor amount of beans, rice, cheese. The price at 15 dollars is super reasonable.

Great food here! I’m a huge fan of guacamole made table side. Presentation is great and I love watching them make it! Always makes it seem so easy… I love how they definitely made it more spicy to my liking. Food was quite good, but their standout? Coconut Mojito. I’m dreaming of that drink right now.

Excellente adresse pour les papilles, établissement propre et personnel accueillant. Guacamole délicieux préparé sous nos yeux, les plats étaient copieux et très bien préparés. Les sangrias étaient bien préparées.

Excellent Mexican food, great drinks and amazing service. SERVICE/AMBIANCE: We came here on a Friday night in June around 8pm and this place was popping! It was SO loud which is the only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5. Although it’s mostly a bar and a crowd of young folks getting drunk on margaritas, sangria, and mojitos(mango mojito anyone??), the hostess was extremely accommodating to our party of 7 which included 2 young children and a baby. Fortunately, because it was so loud, it didn’t matter if the toddler in our group was screaming at the top of her lungs — you couldn’t hear her anyway! DRINKS: I definitely recommend a pitcher of sangria — although there are only a few tiny pieces of apple and orange, it goes down like juice! The margaritas are also excellent. I didn’t get a chance to try the mojitos but will definitely try the mango mojito next time! FOOD: Everyone rightfully orders the made-at-your-table guacamole. It is AMAZING and perfectly spiced. All the food is really good actually. The enchiladas are made with fresh corn tortillas and the tacos are so gourmet(pork and pineapple or orange infused chicken — yum!). Overall, the food is really very impressive, probably some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in New York City.

Since coming here for dinner I have gone and edited my other Mexican restaurant reviews and downgraded a star — because this place is LEGIT. Not your typical«upper east side» Mexican joints like cascabel or others, this place has a genuine vibe, great food and solid drinks… And they’re always playing Mexican music and futbol! Apps– Absolutely must get the guac. They make it table side and can make either hot or mild. Super fresh, served with chips and salsa and they refilled! Dinner — I got the enchilada special and my boyfriend got the fajitas. At first wasn’t sure how seafood enchiladas would taste — the answer is awesome. Boyfriend loved the fajitas and had leftovers for later. Drinks — one picture a sangria — always a good idea. Waitstaff was super nice and attentive. They gave us a comp strawberry tequila shot… Like, what?! Will Deff be returning again. Super boom!

Wonderful guacamole made tableside along with great food, drinks, and a free shot! Another hidden gem we found not too long ago along 1st Avenue up in Yorkville. It’s a small spot but set up well with a lot of seating. Terrific décor, service, and overall ambiance. The kind of place to take a date as it’s a cozy but fun looking spot, or to go for dinner on a weekend when you’re craving a touch of the Latino Heeeeeat! All the plates we ordered were delish, but the real star here is the housemade guacamole made tableside. Multi-colored basket of chips to scoop it up in. I literally licked the stone bowl clean. We opted for sodas this meal and they were served in mason jars which is a cool touch. Enchiladas, rice and beans, along with a special plate of the night which included a mix of shrimp, chicken, and steak that came with hot soft tortillas. Just a really tasty hearty meal, and at reasonable prices. Looks like they serve up some killer margaritas here and have a long happy hour only at the bar area though. Bottomless boozy brunch too which we have to go back for! The owners and management here make you feel like welcomed guests. They came around to make sure we were enjoying our meals, then offered us a round of delicious shots when paying our bill. Now that is what I call a happy ending!

When you come to New York, the last thing you’d probably consider is Mexican food. Especially me, considering I am from SoCal and have experienced the best Mexican food of my life in San Diego. And on top of that, New York isn’t exactly known for it’s Mexican food. You think New York, you think Jewish delis, bagels, pizza, and Italian. But my friend from San Francisco swore that I had to try this place and that it was the some of the best Mexican food he’s ever had. Well, he’s 100% right. Apparently the cook is straight from Puebla, so I was like alright I’m listening. Fresh guacamole prepared at your table. Bomb ass enchiladas. Really awesome skirt steak with chimichurri. My buddy wasn’t kidding, this was SUPER legit. On top of that, the waitress was super duper friendly and provided great service. I’m super glad I came here!

Went for a super early dinner with a friend and was blown away by the drinks and the guac. There’s not many tables, so it’s definitely good for a small get-together or a happy hour. The waitstaff is very attentive(I could even say TOO attentive) and gave us great recommendations. We started out with the special pomegranate margaritas and later moved onto the classic margs(arriving in mason jars!). The latter is SUPER strong, just a warning, but on the expensive side with each special drink coming out to $ 12 – 14. I’m probably going to come back for the happy hour next time since all we really noshed on was the drinks and the chips. The guac was to die for — they make it right in front of you, exactly how you want it. We shared the chicken quesadillas, which we definitely did not need with all the chips we filled up on, but the tortillas were homemade and very well done.
