TurnToTech caught my attention back in 2014 as they were the only in-person full-time bootcamp in NYC offering mobile dev education so they were a trailblazer in that aspect. Met great peers here from all walks of life. Salesmen, entrepreneurs, researchers, artists, college students, analysts and accountants in their past lives flocked here and learned coding so I was grateful for the network gained. Oren, Kaushik and Aditya were great mentors and instructors. As for the curriculum, they had a good balance in terms of iOS fundamentals to exploring different APIs. It’s self-paced so you go as fast as you want. As little lectures as possible and after you learn the fundamentals, you get internship experience working on new apps in a group environment. If you’ve ever tried learning mobile dev on your own, you’d soon realize that it’s like climbing a mountain for months, and when you think you’ve got to the top, there’s like 2000 more mountains to climb. In that tough journey, having peers and mentors can aid you greatly. I think there’s other bootcamps offering iOS now but you can’t go wrong with TTT.
