I would give it one and a half stars. Didnt like it. First of all this is why I usually never mention my groupon until I get my bill. Soon as we walk in, theyre quick to assume we have a groupon. So whatever, I tell the guy that i DO in fact have one. After we’re seated, 1 waitress brings us a brunch menu… even though we didnt come for brunch. When we ask for the normal menu, she starts bitching about how we were suppose to tell them at the door, even though no one ever asked us. So she finally gives up and brings us a cheap looking menu. I ordered fried calamari as an appetizer for my cousin and I. It was ok, but didnt taste like much without the lemon juice and red sauce. As an entrée, my cousin ordered some sort of mixed seafood platter. She found it just ok; nothing extraordinary. I ordered Gnochii and Roasted Chicken. The chicken was great. Every bite was nothing less than heaven. The gnochii on the other hand… i dont think i’ll ever order that again in my life. For dessert, she ordered the Tiramisu. Again, it wasnt bad, but still nothing to brag about. I ordered some sort of chocalate/hazelnut cheesecake which was actually pretty descent. It reminded me of something out the Cheesecake Factory. The reason I’m only giving it 1 and a half stars, is because of the gnats. I had to kill 2 of them, and a third one kept hovering over our table when the food came out. Very disgusting. The only reason I tolerated it is because I’ve dealt with that many times on my travels to third world countries, and unfortunately in third world countries, sometimes the little street vendor with the most flies hovering over them are the ones that serve the best food. That wasnt the case at Tre Stelle. Will definately never go again. On another note, shoutout to the second waitress that attended us; light skin dominican girl with glasses. Didnt get her name. She was good

Love their food, and presentation. We were there couple days ago, we knew we were early, so inside the restaurant was empty. We decided to sit at the side walk which there were about 4 tables, including my table. We order the grilled prawn, so great. I had filet salmon, my friend had mixed seafood with pasta. Then, end with dessert, chocolate mousse with passion fruit sorbet. I had a good time there. Off course, will be back there for sure …

Was a little afraid to try this place due to some Unilocal reviews, but there was a Groupon for it, so we gave it a try. So happy that we did! Sister had Gnocci(sp?), wife had salmon, I had a pasta worth seafood in it. Food was pretty good, but the customer service we received that night is what put it over the top for us. They went above and beyond what we expected. Complementary soup appetizer, cookies and a shot of some sweet liquor. Maybe we just got lucky that night, but we couldn’t be happier with our waiter and experience here.

Can’t vouch for the food, and inside looked a little sterile, but we had a dinner booking nearby and all we wanted was a place we could pay up front for a single beer and leave when we wanted without the hassle of fixing the bill and this was the only place we could find in the vicinity that allowed it, so it’s ok by me.

I’ve been here truce for brunch only n both times I have enjoyed the meal it’s pretty pricey for the portions u get but I have left full both times. They have a nice homemade bread basket n they are located down the block from eataly. This place has a weird setup the bathroom is downstairs in the hotel next door

Amazing! My Husband and I are such avid-Groupon mongers that we’ve been used to lame«deals» but this restaurant was able to supersede all expectations! The service, ambiance, and selections were all up-par the deal. We went on a weekday(Wednesday) and Giselle was our server, she was extremely attentive and a delight! She was very helpful and accommodating– a real treat given that I’m very observant with service since I used to work in retail — but she, another male server, the bartender/host(?!), and the owner was all very accommodating that we are more than happy to order other things off the groupom deal and tip more — it was soooo worth it!

I had purchased a Groupon deal for this place & decided to stop by this past week. We had reservations but didn’t look like we needed then since the place was not crowded. Once seated we started with some drinks, Rose wine for me not bad tasting my friend had a Cabernet also good. They start u off with a nice plate of different pieces of bread w some olive oil, not bad good bread & olive oil. Appetizers we tried the Calamari Fritti really good nice & crispy w a good tomato dipping sauce. We also had the Del Contadino salad this is Spinach, pear, parmigiano and walnuts in a vinaigrette sauce nice salad really good dressing not usually a fan of salads with fruit but this was very tasty. My main dish I tried the Pasta Don Roberto this was Homemade tagliolini with prosciutto & mushrooms in a cream sauce I had it minus the mushrooms, very good pasta I was a bit hesitant about getting this one because cream sauces tend to be pretty heavy this wasn’t heavy at all, nice creamy taste w plenty of prosciutto. My friend had the Linguini Ai Frutti Di Mare this is a mixture of Linguini, calamari, shrimp, mussels and clams in a spicy tomato sauce good dish as well only thing is that it wasn’t spicy pasta dish was good needed more spice. Nice place not too big, simple décor & dimly lit makes for a more intimate dinning. Service was good our waitress was very pleasant prices I say are moderate aside from having the deal. We enjoyed our meal.

STAYAWAYSTAYAWAYSTAYFARFARAWAY! zero stars. The service here is atrocious, legitimately the worst experience I have ever had. The manager called me a liar and told me never to come back to the restaurant over a mistake her waitress made. So it starts off with meeting up with a friend to have some dinner and drinks. We decided on this place, only because Eataly was packed. Anyway, they have a special that states«2 for 1 drinks plus a free appetizer». So I asked the waitress, «for the appetizer, do I choose from this(appetizer) menu?» To which she responded«yes» so I ordered the prawns, my friend ordered the eggplant Parmesan. Fast forward to maybe 20 minutes later(we had ordered our entrees but they hadn’t arrived yet). the waitress brings out a small plate with bread bruschetta and a small bun with prosciutto and says«here is your free appetizer.» Confused, we ask if the appetizers we ordered were part of the special, and she says no. We stated she explained that we could choose from that menu for our free appetizer and she stated, «oh but that’s not what I meant.» What you say and mean are two different things! At that point we ask to speak to the manager. She comes out and we explain the dilemma, to which she tells us, «well my waitress has worked here for 3 years so I think you misunderstood,» and I agreed, but stated it was on her part for, otherwise we wouldn’t haven’t ordered the appetizers had we known we had to pay for them(why would I pay for an additional appetizer if I’m supposed to be getting one for free?!). She told us to leave and not come back! Why on earth would I ever come back here? Frankly I feel discriminated against because I’m young(I look much younger than I am). We stated I would pay for what We consumed(the drinks, because our entrees never arrived) but not the appetizers, and she said no, we could just leave. So we did. Never coming back here. Terrible customer service and our appetizers weren’t even that good.

Let me start by saying this place is not to be categorized as «upscale» — there is nothing fancy or upscale about this place. I live nearby and since there was a Groupon I figured why not?! The place was empty and service was horrible, as it seemed most the wait staff dreaded being there. The Groupon added tax and 20% for what was the least friendly service and some mediocre overpriced food. The ambiance was nothing special, being empty on a Saturday and located right next to a hotel should have been an indicator to stay away. We had a light dinner for two, ended up paying $ 100 even with the«groupon savings» — pass. I’ve spent $ 100 on much nicer and better quality food places in the city. This is a tourist trap at best. I live close so I was hoping to have a new go-to, but I’m so outraged at their poor service and equally unsatisfactory food quality that I will go out of my way to steer people out of this horrible restaurant.

I came here for a casual dinner with my mom, partly because it’s on the same block where I live — so didn’t require much effort to get there, which is a plus in the current weather conditions. It was a Wednesday night, which perhaps contributed to the lack of people there, but it was nearly empty — only a couple other parties in the main dining room, along with a couple people at the bar in the front. It does have a nice, airy feel to it, but it’s spacious enough such that you can have conversations with few people there and not feel like you’re being overly loud. The casual soundtrack playing current hits also ends a nicer air of casualness to the proceedings as well. The service, while bringing out the food fast, was a bit awkward — I didn’t get the sense that our waiter really understood English that well(it took a few tries just to get my beer order straight). I also wasn’t impressed with the start of the meal when we were told they were out of mozzarella and thus unable to serve the burrata. Seriously — there was basically nobody in the restaurant, and you’re out of mozzarella(which is a not-uncommon ingredient in a lot of Italian dishes)? That was a bit of a false start, we ended up with the grilled vegetables with scamorza cheese, which was a rather poor choice for a substitute — the vegetables came off as rather lifeless, and the cheese didn’t seem fresh and did not have a great flavor. My entrée was better; the spaghetti carbonara was very solid — perfectly cooked a tad more than al dente, with the egg adding richness to the pasta and the pancetta adding bits of meatiness to each bite. While the whole experience felt like a 2.5-star experience, I’m going to round up because the pasta was pretty strong, and I liked the casual feel of the restaurant despite being did up. I’d probably come back again, if out of convenience(again), but hopefully they are better-supplied next time…

Great place for Italian food. The atmosphere is very intimate and subtle(great for a date night or dinner with friends), the food was AMAZING(eggplant Parmesan was my favorite) The waiters were nice and so caring as well… All great things when choosing a place to eat.

We were looking for a nice, quiet place for Sunday brunch and Tre Stelle had Groupon deal for 2. Since there were 3 of us we would just split the bill 3 ways. Even though Tre Stelle is connected to the hotel next door, only one other party was there. I was surprised because the restaurant is a nice, clean and pleasant nouvo Italian spot in the middle of the Flatiron district. At least we had no problem conversing at the table! The pre fixe brunch included bread, breadsticks, an entrée, side, plus choice of coffee, tea, mimosa or Bellini. My Uova alla Benedettina, Eggs Bacon Benedict, was nicely plated and enjoyable. The side salad was good and the coffee was excellent. The meal was not what I’d call a fabulous Sunday brunch, but it was right for the money, between $ 11 – 16. Our waiter was friendly and always nearby. Yay for only 2 tables! In the end he comped my coffee since my friends had theirs with the Groupon. I’d come back even without a Groupon.

Went here tonight on a Groupon. The food was fantastic! There was no attitude whatsoever about our using a Groupon and most people were there using one. The restaurant was pretty full for a Sunday night. We had a starter of the bruschette and it was delicious. I had the Pasta Don Roberto which was so good! It was rich and perfect in every way. My husband had the fettuccine with sweet Italian sausage which I tasted and it was quite tasty too. I would order either again depending on my mood. The house wine was good and overall it was a great value. The service was good and the waitress was very pleasant. We would definitely come again. PS. I’m not sure what others were complaining about how far the bathroom is. I mean really? Is it too much to walk five feet out of the restaurant to the stairs in the lobby and walk down one simple flight of stairs. I’ve walked further in many restaurants in NY. Quit being lazy. It barely works off two bites of your delicious meal ;-)

I should have listened to all the other Groupon Unilocalers! I had the same groupon as most people here. Time: Thursday night, 6:45PM Crowd: there wasn’t one but we still sat in the back next to the wall Service: nice, but they seemed annoyed we were using a groupon Price: $ 45 Groupon, $ 25 tip and tax; $ 30 for two additional glasses of wine. Also if you wanted to get a dish over $ 30 you couldn’t just pay the difference in price, you had to pay full price — Cray. Food: veal — worst ever, do not get — imagine really bad hotel wedding food; lasagna was ok but a small portion. Also their CC machine was apparently down so they could only take cash. Then it came on when we got our bill, but we had to double check it was still off, which then the waiter informed us that it was working again. I would not recommend going here even if you had a Groupon.

Bought a Groupon for like $ 30 for an app, two entrees and two glasses of wine. Wine, was obviously house Red or White… so we did the Pinot Grigio. App…we had the grilled vegetables. While this sounds crazy, it was so filling and just so good that if you go, you have to have it. A group of girls arrived shortly after us and we suggested it to them as well and they were equally as pleased. Entrée…my gf had the salmon(it was covered in sauce, seemed a bit much and a little overpowering on such a piece of fish)…I had the half of a chicken with potatoes. It was great. Everything was flavorful and good. The service was good, nothing special but nothing to complain about in the least. We sat outside and since the tables are setup all day, they accrue lots of dust and debris. The tables were yucky and should have been cleaned before we sat down. There were fruit flies lingering as well, not good. :(

Tre Stelle is located on a quiet little side street(quiet for NYC at least) with a really nice patio. We were staying at the hotel next door to this place and decided we wanted a drink. On our first visit we sat at the bar and ordered our drink. The bartender was very friendly and recommended a very good local beer. We were relaxing after walking NYC all day and enjoying our beer when the brought out a very nice plate of hors d’oeuvres on the house. Our second visit we sat on the patio and just watched the world go by. I highly recommend this place for happy hour. That’s the only time we were there and did not get to eat in the restaurant but I’d assume that the food is as great as the hors d’oeuvres.

Tre Stelle is a brain child of Roberto Stefano who ironically is a neurosurgeon as well. I went here on a Thursday date night to try something different other than our usual asian dinner. A friend recommended the place and we gave it a go. The restaurant is dim, cozy and gives you a sassy vibe. The noise level is from average to quiet. Since I had a reservation we were seated right away and offered something to drink in no time at all, the Ciabatta bread and olive oil soon follow. In a matter of few minutes we were already munching something and sipping our glasses of Chianti. We started with Insalati; the house Tre Stelle; Arugula, radicchio, sweet onion and Parmesan. I chose Primi Piatti; Lasagna Bolognese, lasagna with Bolognese style meat sauce and béchamel. For Secondi; Costine D’agnello alla griglia, Grilled lamb chop served with mint peas pure and baby potatoes. I enjoyed my insalati and Lasagna, my pasta was done right and I couldn’t be happier. The customer service here is faultless. One star back for food portion, I nibbled on potato chips once I got home.

I don’t understand why all the negative reviews here. I came here for brunch with my mom on a Sunday. We had a Groupon, as it is our custom to try new places for Sunday brunch on Groupons. We both really enjoyed this place and were impressed by the food, the space, and the service. Yes the restaurant is attached to a hotel. And yes the bathroom is down a flight of stairs through the hotel. But really… is it –that– big of a deal? It’s a nice and clean bathroom. So what if you go down a flight of stairs for it. Don’t be lazy people! I had the brunch burger and my mom had the chicken. Both were very well prepared and delicious. My burger had plenty of cheese, was cooked just as I asked, medium well, and was overall a great burger. The chicken was even better and I regretted not getting it after I tried my mom’s! Both brunches were very filling. The mimosas were good, and the coffee was strong. I really wanted to try the dessert even though I was full and glad I did. I forgot the name of the dessert I got… it was the chocolate cake with ice cream and sweet cream. Very well presented and delicious. But the service and atmosphere was really what pushed this to a 5 star. The waiter was so nice and friendly and attentive. He was always there to refill water or get drinks or take away plates without being pushy or hurried at all. Very nice guy. The place is spacious. The booths and tables are big(I hate small cramped restaurants) with great lighting, decore, and soft background music which makes it great to have a conversation.

A friend and I came in on a Sunday at around 11 for an early brunch. When we got there, there was one table dining and no waiters/hostesses to be found anywhere. So after awkwardly looking and loitering around, I finally spotted a bell! Shortly after ringing, a waiter appeared. Since the place was empty, we pretty much got our pick of the litter(er.table) They gave us a plate of complimentary bread/breadsticks, which I thought was a nice touch. We both ordered the cheeseburger. Nothing special. Pretty much something that’ll just fill you up. Comes with a side of fries. The weird part? The restrooms. You have to go through a door that connects to the hotel next door(not sure if the restaurant is a part of it?) take the stairs(or elevator) downstairs, go around the corner and voila! There it is! It was like pushing through a pile of old coats through to Narnia!(sort of) Other than that, there’s nothing else really worth mentioning. Except that we found a strand of hair on our table. YIKES.
