I went here yesterday for a wax since it is literally two blocks from my apartment. The girl was new I’ve been here a few times. I’ve never seen this girl. When it came time to do my wax, the girl behaved as she had never seen a African american private part. So I went for a complete brazilian the girl did half and when I got home to take a shower I noticed that she only did half. I called this morning the owner said come in and she would take care of it free of charge. When she saw it, she was shocked that the girl barely did anything. She still only did some of it. She said she couldn’t do everything since I was here yesterday and today and it was too soon for her to do all of it. So she said come back in two weeks and she would give me a discount. My point is african american woman and Caucasian woman have different hair and skin types. It would’ve been nice if she would’ve said she couldn’t do it, instead of doing half and charging me full price. Good news for $ 10 more I found a place on 23^rd Street by Eatly that did an amazing job. They used chocolate and the woman said there should be no problem with my skin or irritation, and the hair will stay off longer and the process was painless. This will be my new permanent place.

You know how they say ‘eyebrows are the window to the soul’. Go here if you want to become soul-​less.
I used to be a regular here because of their convenient location, but I will never come back. When I walked in both ladies were on their phones. They immediately made me feel like I was inconveniencing them/​they were about to do me a favour. I have naturally really blonde hair and eyebrows. I said ‘please do not make them thinner, only remove the super blonde hairs going down onto my eyelid’. What did she proceed to do? I might as well shave the remaining 4 hairs off my brow ridge because I no longer have any eyebrows.
When I went to pay she was lying down on the counter with her torso, and gave me shade when I didn’t tip her.
Save yourselves and your brows ladies and take your business elsewhere.

Quick, efficient and reasonably priced! The staff is very polite and I have always had positive experiences. Though the store/​salon itself is nothing special — if you are looking for cheap and efficient service you will certainly find it here.

I went here for five years repeatedly. Almost every experience was great until recently. Lately I have been experiencing more and more negatives. I come here for threading. The staff here changes frequently. There is one woman who has been there consistently throughout these five years, and she is GREAT. But because she is so great, most people go to her and the wait is very long. Sometimes, she isn’t there on the days I go.
A newer woman who works there was available today so I decided to give her a chance. The results were pretty awful. The first time around, the top of my brows just didn’t look as clean and defined as I wanted. I don’t think she threaded that part enough. Also, the tail/​ends of my brow were two different shapes on each side. It was VERY noticeable but the woman kept denying that they were uneven. She did not thread the middle between my brows at all.
I asked kindly for her to fix them. She tried again, but they still did not look very even. I left, deciding it was better to not have the same woman redo them again.
I went to another threading salon a few blocks down. When I spoke to one of the women there, she immediately noticed the uneven ends of my brows without me even mentioning it. Thankfully, she was able to fix my eyebrows. I will be going to this new place from now on.

This places should have more reviews! Its great! It hurt a bit, but I guess it was because i had’t done my brows in a long time. I did my brows and upper lip and it was $ 13 including tip! Highly recommend it!

I never even tried eyebrow threading, and my brows were a mess. The process was quick and painless and a tenth of the price of plucking. Definitely will be back to this salon soon. They’re so nice and down to earth, not fancy.

I went to go get my eyebrows threaded and I loved it! I am picky about trying different places, esp if its the eyebrows. The shape came out wonderful, better than any other place I have tried.

Had my eyebrows done and got eyelash extensions. They have a wide range of services but I opted just for eyebrows and eyelashes. I wanted a wax but you could tell the girl was more comfortable threading — she ended up threading my eyebrows anyway. Im not a fan simply because I find it more painful than waxing and always end up getting my skin nicked in various places. In my opinion I’ve had better and if I’m going to end up getting threading when I wanted waxing, I’ll go to Heena over at My Beauty Mantra just 2 blocks down on lex.
Now the eyelash extensions. I’ll definitely be coming back for those! $ 25 for a great set that looks completely natural. Now then again I might have a leg up on some of you ladies. My eyelashes and eyebrows are naturally black so it blended well. Just got them done today so we’ll see how long they last.
