Don’t miss this rock n roll bar downstairs from the Three of Cups Italian Restaurant! Great place to go after dinner to enjoy metal, rock, goth, punk. One of my favorite bars in NYC!

So gnarly, quaint and rock n’ roll, nice people and a solid hang out. Great music selection on the juke box, and the candles and lighting provide a really cool atmosphere. Not for the bourgeois. Cheers!

CASHONLY How can this place afford to even stick around? They’re serving stuff that makes the Midwest and southern state bars out of the state look expensive! There’s stuff for $ 3… Really cute and chill place if you’re looking to kick back and have a few PBRs with a small group of friends.

I had heard about Three Of Cups from friends who have gone here before. My boyfriend and I were walking around the area and decided to stop in for a drink. As soon as we walked in, one of the employees engaged us in conversation — told us all of the drink specials and talked about some football — so inviting and warm! This place has a sort of Game of Thrones vibe to it. We didn’t have a chance to eat but drinks were good — $ 4 delicious sangria! Can’t beat that! There was also a sign outside advertising brunch with unlimited drinks for $ 23.95 — I’ll have to come back to try it!

One of the last old school rock bars left on the les. The regulars are lovable, bartenders are perfect combination of badass, cheerful, fun and whip you into shape and get you drunk while teaching you a lesson on rock n roll. One of the coolest parts, is that it is a dive bar in the basement of an Italian restaurant. You can get your rock on while enjoying some great food.

Cool bar underneath the restaurant Three of Cups. Dive bar feel and vibe. There’s a bar that runs along the right side of the bar. There are couches and tables on the other side. I like the couches as most bars have stools or tables. The couches give it more a hanging out with friends as opposed to just hanging out in a bar. The bartenders here are very cool. There is access to the restaurant and vice versa from the restaurant to the bar. There’s a jukebox(not an original one) here to so you can pick your own music although most of the time, there’s metal or something similar on.

Great environment. Great music and cold beer. They have«happy hour» until 10pm. I’ll definitely be here again on my next time in NYC.

Ended up here to celebrate a good friends birthday and our simple goal was easily put into play which was drink many beers in his honor with a few mutual buds and his family. The lounge of Three Of Cups is downstairs from the main restaurant space and its got a small bar on one side with tables and chairs, small couches and such on the other. We were early enough to secure the big round table in the rear and since there were eight of us we all had sufficient room to enjoy. Not cramped essentially. Always a good thing. I should mention also that this would be my very first time in the Three Of Cups Lounge even though numerous groups of people in my inner and outer circle had been coming here for the longest time. It’s always been on my to do list but I just never got around to it until this evening. My buddy and I were drinking PBR from a can as these were $ 2 apiece during their Happy Hour which runs from 8−10pm; That is a pretty good deal but you should be aware that this is cash only down here and no credit cards are accepted. They will hold one for you as you build up a tab but you will need to have the real green to settle up. There is also free WiFi which is wonderful but a sore lack of easily accessible AC outlets. This always concerns me when I am dropping below a comfortable phone charge level which is always happening when I need to do many tweets and Instagram posts. The music of the place was Heavy Rock and Metal and that is just how I like it at the end of the day. Since its downstairs from the restaurant that Three Of Cups also has we ordered some pizza and that was wonderful stuff for sure. I don’t always get down this far into the LES but I know that I will come back to Cups soon if I need a rocking place to kick back a few beers with friends.

I like it here. Any bar in the area that plays metal has a place in my heart. Patrons are cool, interior is dimly lit red. I just can’t seem to «do» lounges correctly. I like to park myself at the bar way too much, which you can do, I just seem not to. The first time I came here I had a great time, but was too drunk to remember the specifics. The second time I came I was on a date and they were doing a comedy show for the five people in the bar, so we went somewhere else where we could talk without disturbing anyone. The third time I came on another date and basically canoodled in the back booth. It’s apparently a great place for a date night with your friendly neighborhood metal head.

This is for the dark and borderline creepy downstairs lounge which I would live in if it was on the UES by me — Cheap PBR beer and shot $ 6! Heavy metal on the speakers. Free beer with a pizza 8−11pm. You can order food from the upstairs restaurant. Divey hard rock and metal music bar. Cool bartenders. It’s like hanging out in Wayne and Garth’s basement with a darker, dingier, dirtier, more metal edge to it. Has an 80’s feel and most of the patrons look to be from that era. Grizzled rockers. Iron Maiden, Priest, Gwar, Death Metal, and old Metallica playing on the speakers. All the music that I still love and live my life to. Ride The Lightning! If you’re a boy band, Beyonce, dance, trance, rap, or top 40 lover please don’t even bother. Free PBR with Unilocal check in! Oh yeah! \m/

Three of Cups Lounge is like a complete contrast to the restaurant upstairs. It’s basically an incredibly dark, divey, heavy metal bar that encompasses the charms of the old LES. If you’re looking for a sleek lounge with clean lines and modern décor, this is *not* the place for you. I’ve come here a few times with friends over the years(mostly during bar crawls), end up having a few cheap drinks and great laughs. You can even also order food from the upstairs restaurant if you want to. I rarely get to visit TOCL these days, but when I do… good times are always had.

Food was good not great. It was nice but there was nothing special about it. I had a bianco pie which I’d recommend. However, as I said nothing rave worthy.

The PBT and shot combo is truly a taste of American freedom. It turns out American freedom tastes like gasoline siphoned out of a truck, sandpaper and regret. However it is very cheap at only $ 6, which by my calculation is $ 3 per vessel of alcohol or, if I had to draw a graph, high on the y axis and low on the x axis when y is drunkenness and x is bankruptcy.

* FREEPBRWHENYOUCHECKIN* Any place thats dark, creepy, and blasts metal is my type of spot. Very cheap drinks and shots. Seats for you to sit at, but its a small place. Try to grab a chair or a couch and sit your ass down and enjoy. You might miss this place since its literally underneath another restaurant but the red sign that says lounge is the right direction.

I came in here on a Tuesday night so I couldn’t say what happens on prime hours like weekends. This place is extremely laid back. There were 2 bartenders and they were both extremely friendly, especially the female. She made a heck of a strong whiskey sour for $ 8 not including tips. Even though the place is not the biggest, there are plenty of seating in the couch because everyone was crowded around the bar. They played loud rock music which was awesome and most if not all the customers there were covered in tattoos. Don’t come here expecting a college crowd because at 21, I was the youngest person there. Everyone else looked to be around their late twenties to early forties. There was a couple making out at a corner as well. Nevertheless they were all extremely friendly. The only thing I wasn’t a big fan of is their bathroom: they only have one. Not only does it smell terrible in there(like some drunk dude missed the toilet and peed into a corner) the bar might be trying to save money by skimping on lighting. Honestly, it is I’ve if the creepiest bathroom I’ve ever been to in ny and I’ve been living here all ny life. The lighting is so dim that you can barely see anything further than 5 inches away. It may have been my unlucky day because the toilet paper was soaked when I tried to wipe myself… grosss This is not the management’s fault, in fact, they probablyexpected this because there were 2 toilet paper rolls. All in all, I like the nonjudgmental atmosphere here and I would definitely be back, especially during happy hour!

An interesting little place that I stumbled upon last night while looking for a slice in the nearby area. The food is GOOD. Like brick oven, fresh antipasto good, and some great bread. Loved the clam pizza. They also kick up the brandy in their red sangria, I was digging it. Everything is not just reasonably priced — it’s cheap, like what’s the catch cheap. However, the service is horrible. We sat at the bar while the bartender yelled about how busy and«in the weeds» he was. He forgot to enter our food order. Fortunately for him, the sangria was so tasty that I didn’t mind waiting.

I’m a sucker for a cheap, no frills dive bar. The seedier and more character surrounding me the better. That said, Three of Cups fits right into that description. There’s a Unilocal Check In Offer for a free PBR, so after finding that little nut, I had to squirrel it away and take advantage ASAP. Popped in, bellied up, showed the grizzled veteran behind the bar my phone, and she had an icy cold brew open and in my hands in moments. Aside from the gratis PBR you an enjoy when just walking in and flashing your Unilocal app, their standard prices are well below the market average. You can grab a shot and a beer for $ 5 or $ 6, a mysterious shot of something juicy but strong for $ 5, and you can even order Italian food from upstairs and have it delivered down below. A pretty full service operation, eh? Check it out — if you’re like me and dig dive bars, you’ll like this a lot.

Recently stopped in for a nightcap at about 3:45AM, also known as Last Call time. The bar tender was TRASHED. Not drunk, not inebriated, not intoxicated… throwing glasses across the room TRASHED. Needless to say this is my new favorite bar.

My introduction to this place was the only good that came of my relationship with my ex. Despite that, I’d do it all over again — if only to find the buried treasure of a dive that is Three of Cups. A welcome escape from the usual over-crowded, over-dressed pretension crawling desperately all over the EV, Three of Cups is affordable, spacious and as real as it gets. Drinks are cheap, couches are lounge-able and the clientele are interesting, to say the least. I’m only in Manhattan when I’m getting dragged by friends(come on, why would I ever leave Bushwick?), but for Three of Cups, it’s worth the trip.

Pretty cool biker bar. I popped in while I was waiting for death & co. I’m not one to go to dive bars often but every now and then one is enjoyable. The crowd was pretty diverse from the college kids, to the bros, to the tattooed bikers which I liked. The bartender was super nice and friendly. Cheap and strong drinks too!
