I had an amazing service,(but a little beat annoying) goos tasty food and fantastic atmosphere. a little expensive and close at 11, so good 4 stars. In this place you can enjoy classical atmosphere, taste perfect seafood and have perfect view on down town Brooklyn!

Really cool Resturant been dying to try it. Ambiance was good. Wait staff was a bit slow though it was a busy night. The crab cakes were incredible as were the shrimp cocktail. I had the lamb chops and they were delicious the minty green sauce added additional flavor to the meal. Though I was not a fan of the mash potatoes the chops did more than enough to make up for it. It was a great evening.

the food is great and the ambiance was superb, however if you go to the place for restaurant week, you may feel like the KNOW and make sure you are not the same as everyone else.(even tho i did not eat restaurant week food) and i feel like that their customer service to those customers could be better. try the lobster it is great!

Poor customer service! I came to this place with my friends during my last day at New York night. Firstly, the manager did not allow us to seat the table near the windows because I wear short pants. In addition, when we asked for split the bill, the manager does not know how to spilt the bill? Are u kidding me? He told us he could only equally distributed the bill into 4 people. I ate many good restaurants before, u need train to be polite and not being racism!

I had a great night. I took out someone for dinner because they opened up a business. This place is great. It is very pricey and fancy. The waiter was awesome! They have Valet parking assuming because it right off of the FDR. The food was great so was the dessert.

I like the location, I don’t like the location. It’s out of the way but that’s the point I suppose. Get a table by the window and you get a beautiful panorama of Queens and Brooklyn. We went for the lobster and we were not disappointed — perfectly executed. Terrific staff that jumped on over whenever needed and disappeared when not. I want to come back but it’s so out of the way…

I am a vegetarian and don’t eat seafood, so I am not reviewing on the food per se. We were greeted warmly and seated at a table by the windows. The view was great and the little lamp on the table was cute. The waiters were friendly. We had a baby spinach salad(without the bacon) and a vegetarian casserole. The salad was good but the casserole was horrible. There was no flavor whatsoever. The dessert-chocolate something was ok. Total bill $ 75 and change for 2 people. Plus, getting to it is tricky because of the FDR drive. We had to walk up 34th street and cross over. All in all, a good restaurant, worth a try.

The location on the water appealed to me so I made reservations for last Friday. I was seated by the window which afforded me great views of the water and the Queensboro bridge. When the bridge was lit it was quite pretty. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly without hovering. They knew just when to approach the table and when I wanted to be left alone. I ordered the lobster bisque as my appetizer. It was rich, creamy, and delicious. For dinner I had the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. A very tender piece of meat. I did have the Brooklyn Ice Cream for dessert. It wasn’t their fanciest dessert but I love ice cream and the banana spilt while tempting would have been way too much. The meal beginning to end was wonderful. They also made good cocktails, I had a nice whiskey sour. I had a funny moment half way through the meal — it felt like the place was swaying. I thought, it can’t be the whiskey sour I’ve only had one! But no, it was the restaurant itself. So be warned if the water is choppy you will get a tad bit of movement. While it was lovely experience, I did feel a little out of place. The average age was quite a bit higher than I expected.

Beautiful view of the East River and LIC from a docked restaurant on a boat. Food and beverages were a bit pricey, but the water and sunshine was definitely worth it. You order your food by the bar, and take it up with you to the outside seating area. Cute and quaint; will be returning with the warmer weather.

The view is good but you’d better to have a table at window. Food here is ok. We have ordered oysters which are small and quite disappointing. Scollop and lobster ravioli is good than expected. This is a very nice place for dating with live and soft music and night view but not a place for food with a reasonable price.

Absolutely Fantastic! We had dinner reservations on a Thursday and the place was relatively empty… A bit surprised for a Thursday night, but that worked in our favor as we had a great window seat and a fanstatic team of attentive waiters. We never felt rushed by the staff as we nursed our bottle of champagne along with dessert. I highly recommend for any occasion and would go back in a heart beat! Recommend: Seafood Tower! worth every penny.

The view was pretty good, but unfortunately because I was wearing shorts the head waiter who was quite rude denied me seating at the window even though the restaurant was empty. If you like snooty, elitist restaurants then this is the place for you. It was as if they wanted me out immediately because I was tainting the air of their restaurant. The shoved me in a booth and pushed a table into my foot to hide the fact that I was wearing shorts. My waiter never smiled. So basically the service isn’t that good. As the water people kept running back and forth I strained to see out the bird-shit stained window from the corner I was in. Given the price, I found the food to be mediocre. I ordered pancakes because they were the cheapest thing on the menu for $ 16 and they looked nice with mint and powdered sugar but the taste was bland and boring. Not fluffy and nice. They deserve one star.

Beautiful place, the coat check girl was lovely and very nice. My cosmo at the bar was really good. We checked in and got seated right away. However, our waiter wasn’t the best one. I don’t know what it is for three handsome, good looking, young guys(who happen to be minority) to get great service. Food was forgettable, wine was good and not to pricey, ambiance excellent. The waiter never checked in with us about our food, drink or experience #TheWaterClub should train its staff to treat everyone the same. Just my two cents

Reserved a table for our anniversary. The staff took my wife’s coat when we entered. I kept my jacket. We were offered a seat by the window. We ascertained that the view was of Greenpoint and Long Island City with the big Pepsi sign all lit up. The prettiest part of the view are the lights reflecting off the water and maybe the Queensboro bridge, if you’re into that. We mostly wanted somewhere romantic. We did not find it romantic. The bar was playing 80s New Wave and Tom Petty. It reminds me more of Connecticut than NYC. The head waiter(I think he’s the waitstaff manager?) asked if we wanted any drinks. Neither of us were interested in alcohol for the evening, so we said so. He kinda stared at us for a good five seconds like we were from outer space. We asked what non-alcoholic drinks they had. He shrugged and said«soda». I asked if they have coffee or tea. He shrugged and said«yeah». Some people can’t be around alcohol. You can’t act like they’re out of their minds. We then tried to order some sides. «You want these as appetizers, you mean?» «Okay, sure that sounds good.» «You have to tell me when you want them. These are sides.» «Okay, um, we’ll take those before main dishes.» He stares. «Or, you know, we can just have it all together. That’s fine too.» «You have to tell me when you want them. You want them first?» «Uh, yes. Sure.» I haven’t had such a difficult time ordering food in a long time. We ordered the lobster ravioli and scallops and the seafood linguini for mains. The coffee is not good but I wasn’t expecting good coffee(it is, however, $ 5). Mashed potatoes and asparagus were fine. The potatoes had raw onion on them, which was a bit overpowering. They had various breads. The sourdough was not good. The cornbread was tasty. The raisin bread tasted, oddly, like frozen Digiorno pizza. Both dishes came with a tomato sauce and were heavily spiced. The sauce didn’t work for sea food. You couldn’t taste it. I separated the sauce from the seafood and it was a bit better. The scallops were overcooked and salty. The seafood did not seem fresh to me. The ravioli were undercooked and pretty tasteless. For desert we had the banana split. It came with a sparkler that burned for 15 awkward seconds while the head waiter waited for it to stop. The strawberries had freezer burn and the ice cream was maybe Blue Bunny quality. If you’re going to spend $ 12 on a banana split go to Van Leeuwen. I felt like we were simultaneously not fancy enough and too fancy for the place. Maybe it’s because we live in Brooklyn. The whole time the head waiter kept interrupting the wait staff who were working our table, pulling them away, and doing their various tasks himself. It seemed like he was a very unpleasant person to be around and we didn’t enjoy his company. Our table was kinda drafty. The location is also tough to get to by foot. We took public transit because we roll like that. You have to walk up to 34th and double back down a sketchy dark boardwalk. I don’t give bad reviews for such things — just mentioning it in case you’re considering a stroll. Total bill $ 100. I’d pass on The Water Club. If you’re 60 and into yachts you probably already know somewhere better to go.

Wonderful views! Wonderful food… even for restaurant week! I ordered the Duck Cont Rolls with Asian Vegetable with sriracha sauce as the appetizer and it was delicious! I was weary about eating rolls with sriracha sauce, but what a great combo! The Pan Seared Mahi Mahi with orzo and ratatouille was the best… hands down! The Mahi Mahi had a wonderfully crispy skin and then was soft and juicy on the inside… yumo! Orzo and ratatouille was a great combo and I really wish there was more of it on the plate because I could just keep eating it! By this point, my friend and I were really full and then came the Sticky Toee Pudding with toee sauce, stout gelato and almond tuile… I FINISHED this desert on a full stomach because it was so good! If it was socially acceptable to lick the plate I would… but more people started crowding the restaurant and I had to restrain myself to acceptable table behaviour…

Dined here for Christmas dinner. Given it was a holiday, the food would be mass produced and waits would be long. Our waiter was very nice despite it being so busy and serving such a large group. Love the valet parking outside. The view doesn’t look to anything beautiful, as the industrial part of Brooklyn is across the water from here. Shrimp and lobster ravioli was very much like a dumpling. Didn’t really go well with the sauce. Not so good. I liked my scallop and rice entrée, highlight of the meal. Scallop was not super flavorful but very well cooked. Great massed potatoes. The dessert… Was bad. The plum pudding was horrible. The chocolate cake was okay, but a terribly thin slice. The whipped cream they had was great tho. Perhaps the safest bet was the ice cream lol. For the price, there are much better dinners to be had IMO.

First off, the view is amazing and the staff was very helpful. But I was extremely disappointed with the dinner. My boyfriend and I were celebrating my birthday after a losing my mother, who shared the same birthday, this year. It was December 18th. To the dinner. We had a 5pm reservation and was on time. We were seated by the window, a requested, although his view was blocked by a holiday wreath. We ordered from the specials. Appetizer: Crab Corn Chowder. It was okay and it was served with a large spoon versus a chowder spoon. Main Course: I ordered the Red Snapper with spaghetti Squash and vegetable risotto. My boyfriend ordered the Koby Steak with prawns. The food came out and the debone the fish by the table, which I don’t care for — not impressed(some bones were left either way). The skin wasn’t crispy and it was soggy and bland. The risotto seemed reheated and the spaghetti squash was placed under the fish with no change in look. The steak… Thin, over cooked and full of fat pockets. The prawns were mushy and were not fresh. Seemed frozen then thawed. Considering the reviews on Open Table(who removed my review) and the fact we went to its sister restaurant, The River Café, and LOVED it. We hoped that this restaurant held the same sense of class and reputation and were quickly disappointed The dessert: After dinner, I didn’t was to be disappointed any further. So I ordered vanilla ice cream and my boyfriend ordered the strawberry and banana flambé. The show for the flambé was nice and you can’t go wrong with rum and fruit on ice cream. So it was tasty. But tasting my ice cream, I hoped it was freshly made ice cream and not taste like it came from a box in the fridge — which I could have done so myself ones I got home. The bill was over $ 200.00 and for couple that works hard for that, this meal was not worth that amount. I was extremely disappointed with the food and will never go back or recommend it to anyone.

Great views but the location is awkward which makes it very difficult for cars to get to. If you need a cab, it’s almost impossible. If you use an app, be prepared to wait because they’ll have to go downtown, get on the FDR, and get to the restaurant. The food is OK, servers are OK, the most helpful of the staff are the staff members that are outside to help you get in and out of cars. I wouldn’t recommend this place for the food as its nothing spectacular. The views are nice but not worth the price you’ll pay.

Great food, great service, awesome view. Very pricy but portion size was massive and if the weather was warm, and wallets were right, I wouldn’t mind coming back. Price was worth the experience and memory. Really loved the calamari appetizer, lobster entrée as well as the prawn entrée with pork belly. Didn’t have it with the addition of the pork but the taste was still great.

This restaurant is a true gem. For starters it is easily accessible by car as it is right off the 34th Street exit on the FDR, with its own parking and valet service, which are very hard to come by in the crowded Midtown area adjacent to it. The décor are great at setting a ship-like setting. The live piano creates a very elegant setting. Most of the restaurant tables offer good views of the east river right outside. The food and the dining service staff are superb. I believe the pictures I posted below speak for themselves. I’ve been there for dinner and brunch and in both instances the waiting staff were very friendly and professional and the food itself was delicious beyond words. Im looking forward to returning to the Water Club soon, if anything for a drink at the piano bar.

The location of this restaurant is peculiar but the views are incredible. This is probably the ONLY reason I’m giving this restaurant 1 star. Every time a server came around to our table, they barely listened to our response before running off. It was really hard to relax with all of the running going on by the servers. One server even dropped a handle of glass dishes as a result of running with a massive pile of them. On to the food– holy moly. I ordered the lobster ravioli and seared scallops. My ravioli was severely undercooked and hard. My scallops were practically raw. The plating of the food was also subpar and honestly just ugly. My partner ordered the surf and turf special for a whopping $ 45 dollars. The filet mignon and stuffed prawns were the only delicious thing on the plate. Her side of mashed potatoes were definitely instant mash potatoes. The servers didn’t seem to notice or care to check in with us about our food and didn’t ask when they picked up our barely touched plates if something was wrong. Our bill totaled to $ 132.00. I am appalled that this restaurant can charge the prices that it does for the quality of food and environment it delivers.

The restaurant is on a barge which makes it, and River Café, pretty unique. I was fortunate to visit both during my brief stay. The food here was good but pricey(though what in NYC isn’t?) and the staff was very friendly and attentive. What made the meal was the view! If my wallet allows, I’ll return!

It’s a unique space in New York, right on the water in the Murray Hills area. It’s hard to get to because you literally have to cross FDR drive to get to it. It’s next to the heliport. It’s a nice space. Once you go inside, it has this air of tradition with it’s solid oak walls and staircase. I was at a private event so it may not be reflective of what you may experience if you went on your own. We had the second floor room with windows all around. It’s right on the water, but I felt that the view was just OK because you’re staring at Long Island City. As for the food, it was standard. The bread, salad, and even the chocolate covered strawberries and coconut macarons were just standard. My entrée was the filet mignon. It wasn’t bad, but it was overdone. They said they recommended«medium rare,» which I got, and it was definitely«medium well.» Not that this is the first time this has happened to anyone, but still disappointing.

When we arrived for our reservation, we were told to go to the(nearly empty) bar where we waited for bad drinks for 15 minutes. After more than 20 minutes, we checked on our table only to discover they had forgotten us. After that, the food wasn’t good. The proportions were completely off in the crab salad. My scallops were rubbery. The one nice part of the meal was the lamb shank. The idea of being on the water is nice but it’s simply not worth it.

Caveat: I went here for a company-sponsored event, so I didn’t pay. It’s a bit out of the way to get here, since it’s all the way by the water. However, this makes for really nice views, especially in the evening. I like the nautical theme of the restaurant. We had a private room upstairs with huge windows that also had a private outdoor area right on the water. The food was pretty standard as far as catering goes, your meat and cheese plates, your salads and grilled vegetables, and fruit. I did really like the carving station they brought out, with prime rib slices on crostini with horseradish sauce. I was less impressed by the passed bites. Also, props to the bartender for keeping everyone’s glasses filled. At times when the bar was empty, he would go around to people and fill up their glasses — and remember what they had! That’s good service. Not sure how much it costs, but it’s a great venue for holding an event.

We came here on a double date and this place was great. The atmosphere and service is very humble and friendly. Great timing it was restaurant week. Wine list was excellent and the Rose wine was great and not over priced like many places. The appz: Crabmeat salad with avocado was refreshing. Heirloom tomato salad was an great opening appz that is refreshing and opens up your appetite. Entrees: Pan seared seabass was very well made. The flavor and texture was spot on! The sear crispy skin made it much better! Highly recommended! The lamb shank, its texture was great but the flavoring was a bit over sweeten and after a few extra bites it was hard to swallow, but good thing its a about date and we shared it and no food was wasted. Desserts: Strawberry short cake was tasty for the first few bites, but after that the sweetness gets to you. End up I remove the glazed strawberries and the sweets the bottom layer cake was good. Just the cake. Coconut panna cotta was creamy and tasty! Texture wise was very nice! Not over sweetened and was ffinished quicky. Key lime tart was great the sourness and the sweetness was like *BAM* in yo face! Very good. Yes a must do if you finish your dinner, take your drink after you pay the dining bill and go upstairs to the open roof. There is a bar and foods for people to mingle and chilling. Great spot for a great dining and another spot for friendly hangout. Will definitely come back again. And again and again!

Came here with my boyfriend for our 3 year anniversary. Let me just say that, usually whenever we go to a fancy restaurant, the prices are very high and the portions are very small. However, this is NOT the case with The Water Club! The portions are massive! My boyfriend couldn’t even finish his steak, so we took it to go.(Granted, it was a 24oz steak). I ordered the rack of lamb and it was so delicious. The atmosphere is amazing, and the view is beautiful! The only thing we didn’t like was the fact that the restaurant was rocking back and forth because of the water, so we were getting a little sea sick. Highly recommend if you have a special occasion coming up!

I can’t say enough positive things about the Water Club, it truly is a NYC gem. The Water Club provides a classically elegant atmosphere and dinning experience on the East River in Manhattan. My husband and I were lucky enough to have our May wedding at the Water Club. Our guests are still raving about the venue and the food, and lets not forget the beautiful views that wow during the day and sparkle at night. We wanted a wedding that was romantic, classy, elegant, and with just the right amount of city and on the water feel. The Water Club exceeded all of our expectations. Planning with Joanne was a breeze. She was always enjoyable to meet with, and fun to talk to(she used to run Delmonico’s in the 80’s so we knew we had one of the very best venue coordinators in the city). Joanne was enthusiastic about all of our plans and made us feel very special, which is amazingly rare in the wedding industry. Joanne worked with our vendors and bridesmaids to make sure things ran seamlessly, and the room looked like our vision. The maître d’ on the day of our wedding was superb and accommodated my husband and I continuously, and made sure the butlers got passed hors-d’oeuvres to me(which if you have had a wedding before you understand that the Bride and Groom usually do not get a chance to eat much of their food). The food was delicious and the open bar provided lots of options(including some fantastic Old Fashioned cocktails). So many guests told us they had never been to a wedding with such great food. This is one of the benefits of having your wedding in one of NYC’s best restaurants. If you are able to have your wedding at the Water Club, do not pass up the opportunity. They made our wedding day better than we ever could have imagined. Plus, we now have a special and extremely romantic restaurant to celebrate anniversaries and special occasions.

In town for my brother’s graduation and came here with my family last night. For appetizers we got a few oysters and clams, shrimp cocktail, and king Alaskan crab legs. The shrimp cocktail came with 4 jumbo shrimps for $ 19… Kind of ridiculous. The crab legs were also $ 19 for a decent appetizer portion so probably a better choice. They also have like 5 kinds of complimentary bread: sourdough, biscuit, cornbread, and I forget. For our entrees I got the salmon cooked rare and it was cooked perfectly and delicious. It came with a side of potato salad which was equally delicious. Other entrees at our table were artichoke risotto, tuna, and clam linguini. I tried a bite of each and liked them in that order. I usually like pasta but I felt the linguini was nothing special. We also shared the cauliflower and French fries side dishes. I usually don’t like cauliflower but this was actually good. The service was great. Our glasses were never even close to empty the entire night. We also got a cheesecake and chocolate cake to share for dessert and they were kind enough to decorate the plate to congratulate my brother. As amazing as the food and service, was the view. Absolutely beautiful! Definitely get seated by the windows if possible. The only con would be the price. With the food, a bottle of champagne and wine, the bill came out close to $ 500 with tip. Great place for a special day.

This is a review for their Restaurant Week 2015 menu. Our party of 2 came for dinner on a weeknight and was seated quickly with our reservation. We didn’t get a table by the windows but the river view was visible from almost any seat in the dining room, which is pretty sweet. The waiters approach you with a plate of breads and introduce the different types they have. We both chose a raisin bread, which was a treat in itself without any butter. For appetizers, we had their Maple Glazed Shrimp and Short Rib Sliders. The sliders were mouthwatering and juicy, melted in my mouth upon the first bite. Entrees: Seared Scallops and Mandarin Oranges, which was pretty good, and the Braised Lamb. While the portion of the lamb was plentiful, the lamb itself was tough to chew and leaning towards the dry side. The parsnips and onions served with the lamb were amazing though, very flavorful and roasted perfectly. Their desserts, however, were too sweet. The Coconut Panna Cotta came with a mango sauce, which basically sugar coats your taste buds, and according to the menu, came with«exotic fruit». I don’t know about you but kiwi, raspberries, blueberries, and pineapples are not exotic. Their Sticky Toffee Pudding was unexpectedly a thin waffle cookie atop a scoop of gelato and toffee cake. Not pudding but all complaints, even about its sweetness, dissipated with each bite. Overall, the service and ambience was great but their Restaurant Week menu had both hit-and-miss dishes.
