I’ve literally lived within spitting distance of this place for a couple of years but had never set foot in it until friends from out of town suggested stopping in for a drink. Being an agreeable sort, I said«sure» and they suggested that this must be my regular hangout due to its proximity to my abode. Imagine their surprise when I said it was my first time! We had a very nice server who brought our drinks promptly. The beer list is not particularly heavy on craft beers but you can find some tolerable choices. Lots of cocktails and many specialty martinis, heavy on the sweet side. Not that there is anything wrong with that. The ladies in my party raved about their white chocolate martinis. I’d probably go back when friends from out of town are visiting again!

Walked in and was seated immediately. Sat through 3 songs and no one said boo. No water, no acknowledgement… nothing. Then a group came in after my husband and I and were served immediately. Needless to say, but we got up and left. The icing on the cake was that the hostess who seated us seemed unaware of the fact that she had just seated us about 10 minutes earlier and told us to have a good day.

Foods decent, drinks are very weak, food delivery was fast, however the salad came out with no dressing and the request for no cheese on the Shepard pie was ignored. Overall, ok place to fill your stomach but don’t expect anything amazing.

We walked by the place on the way to The subway to get to south ferry on our trip and we all said that looks like a great place to grab a beer and a burger. 4 hours later we went here for lunch! The burger was so good! I would give it 5 stars but we went back for appetizers a few nights later and the apps were just ehh.

Stopped in last minute for lunch because it was close to my hotel. Bartender was great, homemade minestrone was fantastic and the grilled cheese was unique! I would go back again.

Our first night in the city and stopped in for dinner. Watching the Giants vs Patriots football game in NYC was unbelievable. We ordered the potato skins appetizer. Which was so good. I preferred the pastrami sandwich and my daughter ordered the filet mignon panini, both were so delicious and tasty. The proximity to our hotel was a plus. The service was fantastic. A big thank you to our server. She is from Ireland and was very kind.

We didn’t order any food but ordered two stagecoach beers. Light and crisp. No complaints here. I wouldn’t order the food after reading the Unilocal reviews but would stop here briefly for a pint any day.

Stopped in for dinner before the ballet. Ate at the bar and found the bartender to be attentive and accurate with orders. Was disappointing to learn the taps weren’t working bc of short term construction in the basement. The bottled beer selection was satisfactory. I ordered the Kale and Spinach Veggie Burger. It was the very best veggie burger I’ve ever had. It was made from lots of vegetables, none of that soy patty bs. There was a lot of mushroom and nearly half an avocado piled on top. Atop that was fresh, yummy mixed greens, none of that bland iceberg junk. The bun was toasted nicely and the sauce was delicious. The fries could’ve been cooked more. The honey mustard and bbq sauces were great. The price was right considering it was a lot of food and in Manhattan. I’m looking forward to going back and going the taps are working.

I visited this restaurant while in NYC. Had the guacamole and chips which were excellent! So flavorful and the chips were fresh and had just the right amount of salt on them. I sat at the bar and wad greeted with a huge smile. The bartender Tatiana was excellent. She engaged in conversation with me after noticing I was dining alone. Great food and service. I will definitely stop in on my next visit to New York.

TOURISTTRAPALERT!!! Obvious tourist trap… yet we still stopped to grab a bite. Food: not great Service: the worst. As a server, I would never approach a table with«are you ready to order or what» and then check back halfway through our meal, forget our condiments and see to another server dropping the check.(Hi she’s not even busy. She is rolling silverware in plain site.) My fault for stopping at this tourist trap.

I dropped in here to wait for a friend and ended up having lunch here. Bartender was quick and to the point. All business. Not that it wasn’t bad but I always look for that in a bartender especially when there aren’t any people at the bar. It’s a nice room with a lot of TV’s for viewing sports. Nothing out of the ordinary. There’s two Irish styled bars on the same block so there’s nothing that would pull me into one over the other visually. The bloody mary that was made for me was pretty solid though and priced right. We ordered a sandwich and some fish and chips. Food was good, again not great just good. Well made and tasty. All in all like my review it’s a solid spot just nothing to really glow about. Well the bathrooms are pretty nice actually.

Calamari($ 12) — it didn’t have that much flavor. The only good things were that it wasn’t overcooked and the coating wasn’t salty or oiley. French onion soup($ 12) — tasteless also. Very watery, with tons of sodium. I’ve never had canned french onion before but I bet thats how it taste like. Shepards pie– not terrible but also not that flavorful either. The peas tasted almost like it didn’t defrost properly. Overall, overpriced, not flavorful and small portions. Stick to the beers($ 7 for tap). We only went there because our planned restaurant fell through and we were starving, cold and I wanted a place that had Angry Orchard.

Solid corned beef and pastrami. What else matters on a Monday lunch? I had a great Old Fashioned here too. I will return.

Late lunch Aug. 5th We were looking for the Stage Coach deli(which closed down over 2 years ago) and ended up here. I was worried because there was no line, but we were tired and hungry so we gave it a try. On a hot summer day, this Tavern is a nice break in the action, it’s dark, cool, clean, with equally clean restrooms. Husband loved, loved, loved the corn beef and cabbage. Our group also ordered fish and chips, the Diablo Burger, fried calimari, salads, etc. The food came out quickly, everything was good, large portions. If you get a seat by the front window, this is a nice place to have a drink and people watch. We would come back again, hubby still craves the corned beef and cabbage.

In NYC for a friends birthday and came here for brunch. Two of us just had drinks since we had eaten before meeting up with the rest of the group, but for those who ate the food looked good, standard pub fare. Free bloody, mimosa or screwdriver with any brunch entrée so It makes it a great deal. Nice staff and classic pub atmosphere, looked like a great place to watch a game.

SOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOOOO good. The service was pretty spot on(and that’s coming from a picky New Yorker). I stopped in here after the AIDS Walk and I was ready to bite someone’s arm off — I was THAT hungry! Luckily, we were seated immediately and served right away. I had the brunch burger which came with a mimosa for $ 14 bucks. Guys — this brunch burger was beyond amazing! At first I thought I was just over exaggerating, so I had to ask a friend if the burger gave him life as well. He agreed! The service was great! And everyone had cute Irish accents. Happy I work down the street from them… hoping they serve that brunch burger all day! Yummm

Great place for an afternoon beer in the Theater District. A bit of a dive, but excellent bar service. 15 beers on tap and the bartender can talk about each in detail.
