2.5 stars for maybe bar. Restaurant I believe should be revised. I don’t understand the idea, is it cast iron skillet meals, is it Mexican, grilled cheese? No idea? Well, honestly I don’t care but whatever it is I wasn’t impressed. What inspires me to write a less than neutral review was that after tasting 2 other unimpressive dishes I decided to try the pancake. I asked the waiter does it come with natural maple syrup? Maybe my question went unheard or misinterpreted but he said yes. I’ll let anyone reading this imagine my thoughts after they see this picture of a Pullman pancake. Maybe I missed their special dish but whatever. I got the idea . It’s a big place, a little grungey. I give them credit for trying. The area has a lot of competition. If it was my place I’d step up the game with something impressive besides a huge beer list. Unfortunately for now, the white goo on my pancake pissed me off.

This place is awesome. Came here for a quick bite to eat with a friend. We asked to be seated outside, and the bartender quickly ran out after us and informed us that there was only 2 minutes left of happy hour if we wanted to order something quickly. When someone shows you that kindness from the start, you know it’s going to be great service. We decided on getting the chicken and waffles, and the slow and low(brisket sandwich). The chicken and waffles were pretty delicious. My only complaint is that I wish there was more chicken there. I’m not a huge waffle person, but these waffles were phenom. They are made with cornbread which is amazing and they taste great. We got this sandwich with the tomato soup, and my only complaint there is that I wish there was more. It was so good. The slow and low, was AMAZING. It was so juicy and so flavorful. With that we got the waffle fries which were a little salty but still great. Then to top it off we got a boozy coffee milkshake called the morning buzz. I could not for the life of me taste the alcohol in there which makes me wonder if there was any in there, but I walked away from that feeling a little buzzed so I’m guessing there was. It should also be noted that there is something here called the Beast of Midtown East, which is $ 25 for supposedly 5lbs of food. If you can finish it, you get it for free and you get a t-shirt. I kinda wanna come back and see if I can conquer it.

Came here on a pit stop during a friend’s birthday and had a great experience! The bartender Katie was very welcoming, and a joy to meet. The food was delicious, albeit heavy in calories lol i would definitely come here again

My girlfriends and I had brunch here on a Sunday morning. We were all disappointed by the food and the slow service, especially considering most tables were open. The Smith across the street was packed and now we understand why this place was still so empty. My order — the classic grilled cheese. It was greasy and looked less than appetizing. You can make a better grilled cheese at home. Friend 1 — pancake. She didn’t like it at all and said it didn’t taste like a pancake. Friend 2 — french toast. It’s supposed to come with nutella per the menu, hers didn’t. She had to ask for it and the waitress’s answer for why it wasn’t added from the beginning: «I don’t know, they just didn’t add it». Also the french toast just tasted like greasy toast, definitely not french toast. Would not recommend.

I had such a good time here! the food is soooooo good, I got the Green lantern burger, and fries, the fries were seasoned well and crispy and my burger patty was perfectly cooked, I will say it was a little messy to eat but worth it! We were there during the Kentucky derby and the waitress let us draw horse names and whose ever horse got in the top 3 got vouchers! We had a very pleasant time joking and carrying on with our waitress, I can’t wait to go back. My only criticism was the state of teh bathrooms and the stairs that lead down was a little broken.

It’s okay for a quick brunch with your boys/to watch a sports game. Not the place to go out with your girls and hang around for a boozy brunch. Food wise, Got the Pullman classic, was ok. Drink selection was great. Waitress was awesome! Not really running back.

You cannot get any tastier and heartier and filling than the Pullmans kitchen dishes. Get ready to be overwhelmed by the menu alone as it’ll take some time to decide on what you want. The salads are subpar but this place is known for its meat and it’s hefty dishes. I had their slow and low brisket sandwich which was juicy savory and everything else in between. I also tried their chicken and waffles sandwich with tomato soup. The chicken wasn’t as succulent as I wanted it to be however it was still incredibly tasty. I plan to come back to tackle the beast of the Midtown East. Which by the way is a 5 pound plate of monster sandwich. Apparently it’s $ 25 but it’s free if you can finish it plus they give you a cool T-shirt that says I tackled the beast of midtown eats. One of these days… LOL

This is a small little neighborhood bar. I tried the chicken and waffles — they were OK but not life-changing. The staff is no-nonsense and attentive. For a fun adventure, try descending the world’s most nightmarish staircase to the subterranean bathrooms. Bundle up in winter because the space never seems to warm up.

The service is pretty good here but I am so disappointed by the food! I came here wanting to try the chicken and waffles but was told that they were sold out of that. After a couple of other orders, they seemed to be sold out of everything that I wanted to eat. I didn’t want to be rude and just get up and leave and settled for The Little Italy. First, I am not a fan of their sourdough bread though I typically LOVE this! They also give a lot of food. which is a plus but everything is extremely oily and hard to swallow! They had an offer when I went, a $ 35 sandwich all for free if you could finish it. It was a super large plate though, and also equivalent to about 5 heart attacks! Even if we wanted to try that, that night– it was not available! So disappointed.

I really liked this place. My friend and I went for brunch, the waitstaff was great and the menu was very diverse. I loved how they gave everyone a complimentary appetizer for the table. That was a huge plus. The only tweak that they need is that it maybe too rustic. The tables were very unstable and the chairs weren’t that clean.

The chicken and waffles at Pullman is more carbs than protein. Their variation is a cornbread waffle fried chicken sandwich which was a nice change of pace but the chicken was relatively lackluster. The positive is that an order comes with waffle fries while the spring mix side salad was rather irrelevant and confusing for this dish. Pullman is well-positioned for the midtown east neighborhood lacking in c&w but the chicken comes first for a reason. 3 stars for the food and a bump for the excellent service.

The PULLMANKITCHEN is GREAT on level after level. We were greeted immediately in a friendly & open manner walking in with 3 adults &3 young children… not always accepted in a lot of NYC spots. Our server was even more friendly & totally excited about his job. He joked with the kids & bantered with the adults. Our foodcwas creative, unique and, most important, DELICIOUS! We tried our hand at the burgers(juicy & flavorful), breakfast(hearty & tasty), drinks(grest craft list & awesome spicy mary), & milkshakes(sweet & huge). The place is beautifully decorated &, since it is Christmas time, lovingly displayed for the Holidays. LOVED it… will be BACK!

Have the Chicken & Waffles. Three of us had lunch on a weekend and it was great. The service was excellent and upbeat. The food was delicious. I remember their condiments were noticeably delicious too.

The food at Pullman Kitchen is so heavy and artery clogging. Comfort food at its finest if that is your thing. Came here for brunch on a Sunday with no wait, which is rare in NYC. The restaurant is rustic and cozy, with plenty of TV screens in each room that turned to NFL football on Sundays. This was convenient while I was frantically checking my fantasy teams waiting for our food. We ordered the B.E.C sandwich($ 10.95) with waffle fries, as well as their Southern Benedict($ 12.95) with poached eggs on top of pork apple sausage and cornmeal waffle. It came with roasted potatoes and mixed greens. The food was decent and buttery — but as I look down at all the grease on the bread and napkins, I can’t help but wonder if every 500 calorie bite was worth it. Portions were decent and we were already full mid-way. Everything was so heavy. At the end of the meal, all I wanted was to eat spinach and carrots for the rest of the day(that didn’t happen). I have nothing more to comment on the service, aside from our waitress being completely uninterested and aloof throughout the course of the meal. Minus one star. An okay brunch option in the area as prices are reasonable, portions were filling, and it does not have a one hour wait like other tourist brunch places in the city. If I am in the mood to clog my arteries again, I will consider coming back.

Worst waitress ever. I have currently been waiting for my grilled cheese and tomato soup for 40 minutes now. I’m 100 percent sure the order will come out wrong because of the attitude she gave me when I ordered a Diet Coke. I am also 100 percent sure she never put the order in. If you don’t want to work in this restaurant, quit your job. No need to make the restaurant look bad because you’re having a bad day. I have come here before and the grilled cheese and tomato soup is great. I’ll blame this girl behind the bar with the glasses for the terrible service. Update: She was kind enough to give us chocolate milkshakes for the long wait. Very nice of her… +1 star.

Really nice brunch here. Came with a few friends after a morning race and thoroughly enjoyed the caveman diet burger special(slab of cow meat between two portobello mushrooms, and an extra portobello or two on the side). Other brunch standards, like chicken and waffles, were also available, as was a very good list of beers, wines, etc. Lots of comfort foods, like tater tots in several varieties, are on the bill of fare. There are also shakes and familiar sandwiches. The staff was friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. From what I saw, the place doesn’t get too crowded, even during prime brunch hours, so you’ll be able to breathe and relax without spending most of your afternoon waiting for a table.

Takeout only — - My coworkers and I ordered from The Pullman Kitchen twice and their foods are a hit or miss. The food don’t travel that well since it’s burgers and fries but the taste and texture held up pretty good. The Buffalo Wings had different levels of spice, coworkers and I ordered the spiciest they had to offer and when we dug into the wings, it wasn’t that hot, a little disappointed there. The Sriracha Burger wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be, there also wasn’t much sriracha flavor, felt like it needed a little«oomph» in the sauce. On another occasion, I ordered The Pullman Classic along with tomato soup for dinner. The sandwich was good although on the other hand, the soup was on the salty side but had a good thick consistency. I’ll need to revisit and dine-in and hopefully the experience will be different.

Recently stopped by for a late brunch with my roommates. We have been to the Smith(across the street) too many times and wanted to try something new! The inside restaurant was empty. We were able to sit right now, could be because it was 3 pm on a Sunday. Two of us opted for grilled cheese, and one of us opted for the chicken and waffle sandwich. I got the Grilled Cheese special, i think it was called«the green monster». I liked the sandwich initially, but as I continued it got a little heavy and the bread was soggy. But, the mozzarella in the sandwich was so delicious I couldn’t stop! Plus, the waffle fries were amazing. They were perfectly crisp and not soggy at all. One friend ordered the apple a day sandwich — she devoured it, and my other friend ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich — which she devoured as well. I would probably opt for something with less ingredients for my meal next time, because there will definitely be a next time. Check this place out if you’re looking for a chill place to grab a bite to eat! ps — If you are a fan of chicken & waffles, definitely try the one pullman kitchen is offering. They make it in sandwich form so it is easy to eat and doesn’t get soggy or anything. My friend LOVED it. It’s a fun take on a dish a lot of people like to indulge in.

It really is an adult version of a kids meal here! The food is served in little trays that remind me of a little cafeteria but of course cleaner. Food is pretty dang greasy and heavy though. I’ve gotten their Classic Pullman and the Chicken & Waffles. Both were AMAZING. Especially the chicken & waffles omg I’m so glad I tried that. I’ve been to Roscoe’s(hi, LA native here) and wasn’t too impressed by this combo so I had my doubts. But here they use a cornbread-type waffle and have cheese, chicken, and maple syrup. Sounds weird with the cheese but trust me it is so yummy. Converted me to a chicken & waffles fan, seriously. You can’t eat this with your hand though because the waffles are soft so use your fork and knife! The Classic was also quite good but incredibly greasy. Good for those with a smaller stomach! All dishes come with a choice of soup, salad, or fries but this dish comes with both fries and soup. Both are on the salty end though :(Great service and a cool variety of dishes! Definitely recommend!

Pullman Kitchen is an awesome choice for brunch or dinner located in midtown east. The menu has your traditional brunch options, but with a uniquely delicious twist. For instance, instead of waffles, you there is waffle and chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese. Instead of French toast, there is the ‘not so skinny Elvis,’ which is French toast, caramelized banana, bacon, whipped cream, and Nutella!(You could not get a better combination of food into one meal if you tried.) You can’t go wrong with any of their sandwiches, which come with your choice of waffle fries, creamy tomato soup, or a side salad. The Beet salad had beets, goat cheese, and pumpkin seeds, which was perfectly fine, but not one of the standouts on the menu. They also have a large selection of Bloody Mary’s, which are uniquely presented in a very tall and skinny glass. Our waitress was very nice and helpful with deciding what to order. Not a very expensive brunch option($ 13/main dish with $ 9 bloody Mary’s). The service was quick and the ambiance was nice. Pullman Kitchen is a great choice to dine with friends.
