Great, amazing… its hard to find enough superlatives to discribe this shop. They have a great selection of art based goods. Some you can find elsewhere but a lot of the merchindice is made just for them. Its a great place to find gifts and unique souvenirs. I am a fan of the holliday decorations, They creat some great items!

I really enjoy going to the Met and typically visit it 4 – 5 times each year. Now, this«gift shop» off-shoot of theirs near 30 Rock makes them look bad. It is mostly scarves, umbrellas, notebooks and old candy(although that candy was 50% off due to its‘ age). There is very little available that is closely related to art. One decent item was an Andy Warhol poster of the Brooklyn Bridge. But I would have liked to see more books of the museum‘s exhibitions, which I know are available at the actual museum on the UES. Overall, this store was certainly a disappointment, especially considering it is representing an otherwise fine artistic institution.

On a snowy day in NY, we had an amazing time at «The Met». Such culture and amazing portrayals if cultural pasts. A must see when in the area!

This store is probably the only good reason to come to Rockefeller Center. Firstly, their stock is lovely. Objects, clothing, art, and jewelry you’d find at the MET and more – high quality goods at reasonable prices. I came in on a weekday at the lunch hour to make small return and a few purchases. I was a bit worried I’d get turned away without a receipt but I was greeted with the utmost kindness from one of their managers. I ended up purchasing more than my credit but it was beyond worth it for the unique gifts I purchased, and the fact that it benefits the museum. I would suggest this store to anyone working in the area that needs that special present… or to a tourist that simply doesn’t have the time to make it to the MET, but does have the time to stop by Rock Center.

We live on the West Coast so we do not visit NYC often, but when we do this is a must for us. I never fail to find gifts for my family, friends, and of course myself. The sales people are so helpful(Elaine and Maureen) and went out of their way to help select items for my gift list… then they wrapped them beautifully It will continue to be my favorite Manhattan store. I am beginning to wonder which entity drives which business, the store or the museum. They really don’t miss and opportunity to sell, here, the other stores, or in the Museum itself. Decent enough merchandise to be gifted, but not much here I’d buy myself or for my home.

Like the museum itself, this place is huge! Nestled right inside the lobby, you can find any book, poster, tie, piece of jewelery, or souvenir relating to the museum. The jewelery is great and a decent price– I usually get the stone jewelry there for my mother– and it’s a great buy! The staff is very friendly and helpful there as well. There used to be a store at Lenox in Atlanta but it closed down :( A must see for anyone into art or art history!

This is one of my favorite stores in Manhattan. You cannot go wrong with jewelry designs, silk scarves, silk ties, and so much more that have their roots in the classics and sometimes even in antiquity. Virtually everything is in beautiful taste, well executed, and reasonably priced. I often buy my gifts here, and appreciate how the museum store always updates its various lines. You are never stuck for lack of choice!

Located right across from the skating rink/Prometheus statue at Rockfeller center, this is the ultimate place for souvenir shopping FOR New Yorkers & tourists.(And yes, I am a New Yorker born & raised t. only moved out to NJ for a few years. Much more of a NY-er than those who *moved* to NY only a few years ago!). If you don’t have time to go up to the MET store at the actual museum on 85th street, this is the next best thing. Here, you can buy beautiful«classic NY» black & white photograph of buildings, MET museum calendars/replicas. Jewelry selection is good — art recreations at affordable prices. The upstairs MET kids store is a great place to buy unique & educational gifts for children. You can also check out the ongoing exhibitions by looking at the current books to see if you can make time to imbibe more art.
