One of the best hookah places and their Mediterranean dishes are very flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. I love their yellow rice and kebab dishes! When you first enter, you will be surprised at the small size and limited seating capacity. Plus, it seemed a bit stuffy and did not have enough ventilation(I am not sure if they have an AC either, maybe just fans). Anyway, we were able to get a seat since we arrived late on a week night(without a reservation). Any of their hookahs are great and have a strong effect. Plus, the service here was super friendly and attentive. They even let us switch to a more comfortable and slightly larger table after customers were finished with their meal and left. As I looked around, I realized this is also a popular place to just hang out with friends for drinks and hookah. However, I suggest you try their kebab dishes with yellow rice. Their dessert menu was kind of limited but we had a brownie, which was a bit dry/below average and powdered with sugar.

First time at this place but my friend has been several times and loves it– rightfully so. Food was great, we shared hummus and kabobs, which was served with rice. The drinks were tasty and the hooka was nice and smooth. I took off one star because of the décor; this place needs some cozy and updated touches. Ill definitely be back!

I absolutely love this place I’ve been coming here for at least 5 years. The shrimp appetizer and fresh warm bread is NY favorite apart from the fest salmon or chicken kabob. Their hookah is super fresh and drinks are amazingly refreshing. I always come here after work or before going out and the service is always great and they are very attentive to all guests. Definitely a favorite place of mine.

The best hookah ever! I am 100% satisfied with the service, quality, and overall experience I had here. Lelia is the sweetest, and most hospitable, I am definitely coming back!

Amazing, the service was great. Hookah on point. We got drinks on the house. Can’t stop raving about it.

Since this place is only three blocks away from my apartment and I was craving Mediterranean food which is really hard to find in East Harlem, I decided to check out this place. Contrary to the shabby looking building, the inside of the restaurant was filled with beautiful murals which the owner’s brother from Morocco painted. The tables and chairs looked a bit old and the menu is not extensive but I left the restaurant very happily with an amazing chicken kebab with rice dish! It’s a type of place that’s hidden so I felt like I found a treasure spot. The reason why I’m leaving 5 stars is because this place also has a great hookah that doesn’t make you choke for $ 20 and the owner is super nice — when my boyfriend asked if there’s a tea, he said no and got my boyfriend a cup of tea from next door(AND didn’t charge us)! I’m bringing my friends next time for sure.

This is a review after my 5th or so visit. The Kiosk is right down the block from a friend’s house that I often visit. We initially went there on a cold winter night seeking warmth and refuge from an apartment that was way too cold. Ambiance: Low sensual lighting that works and doesn’t make you feel like a dancer in the dark. Sometimes the music can be just a tad bit loud, but that’s usually when you’ve probably been sitting in there too long and you’ve heard the same playlist three times. There’s never really been a crowd and it seems like a place that people go solo, on a date, or a small group. It is a small space, but you never really have to worry about rubbing elbows with the person next to you. *Great mural depicting Moroccan culture covers the wall. Service: There is one waitress/hostess whose name I always forget because I’m terrible with names.(I believe her name is Lana, or Nala). Her husband is the owner(I suppose that makes her the owner as well). She is nice, and wavers between attentive and seemingly unaware. I do think that she’s initially attentive the first few times you visit and then gauges her service afterward upon that. I usually go with one or two friends, and we generally are low maintenance, never asking for anything, so the last couple of times, it has been a bit harder to get her attention. Drinks: Beer selection is limited. Kind of caters to the locals(little Mexico) so there’s Corona, Modelo, and mayyybe Budweiser. As for the cocktails– Very tasty, a bit small, not particularly strong, but unique creations that tantalize the palate and pair well with the hookah. Hookah: Pretty much the usual, but lasts quite long and is smooth. They do a good job. Food: The first time I tried the food, I liked it, but didn’t love it. I primarily got some appetizers that are standard fare, but I wasn’t in love. My friend devoured it. The next time, we split the Tilapia. YUMMA! $ 15 kind of a lot for a bottom feeder(Is it one?) but it was delicious. I recommend skipping the cold food and going for the hot stuff. It’s prime. Bathroom: Single stall. Always clean, Smells good. Important to me because I have a phobia of public restrooms. Wifi: Ayy!!! They got you and so does Time Warner Cable

Thank you Layla! Excellent meticulous service food drinks and hookah! I have been smoking for years… and I have never had any hookah even close to this! Smooth cool hookah smoke and for the first time in years I didn’t have to ask anyone to ice the hose! Relaxing atmosphere, friendly The food was sooooo good and fresh, the music set the mood I thought I was in morocco for a minute! I didn’t want to leave! I can’t wait to go back…

This is my first review on Unilocal. It’s honestly one of my favorite places in the city. It’s my safe place. It’s cozy and you should bring a special person here even if you don’t do hookah. The hosts are a married couple. Very loving people. Check it out.

This is a nice little intimate hookah bar. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The hookah was good and the drinks as well. They play Arabic music very low. The best part was that we used the Unilocal deal 15 for 30 which saved us, it was basically a free hookah.

Love the food and love the owners. They really make you feel like you are in small restaurant in Morocco. Well, I have not been to Morocco, but they have left that impression on me. I usually go with the Spinach triangles, the goat cheese salad, and the lamb with rice. Of course, you have to try their hummus and make sure to ask for some Harissa if it did not come with your meal. Love this place!

Starting from the host Laila’s beautiful smile that makes the Moroccan experience so warm and welcoming, The Kiosk has become my place away from home to kick back relax and enjoy the best hummus with toasty Pita bread I’ve ever had. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu but my 2 favs have to be the chicken kabob and the Moroccan chicken salad. I really love this place and highly recommend it… It’s a gem in Spanish Harlem.

Lovely intimate spot. Layla is a sweetheart and makes the best drinks. My favorite dish is the Lamb w/rice with warm pita bread and humus on the side. The hookahs are nice addition for the hookah heads out there!

This is a nice locally-owned business that has a welcoming, casual atmosphere, great Mediterranean food, and even hookahs! It’s really the hookah that keeps me coming back, since there are not too many places that offer this in my area. There is a nice selection of flavors and it lasted a reasonable amount of time. The food we ordered was very good(a selection of appetizers) and we even got second helpings of a couple things. I wouldn’t have minded a wider selection of entrée choices. Our waitress(who might also be the owner and/or manager?) was friendly but not super attentive. We had to chase after her whenever we wanted something. All in all, it’s a good place to come if you’re not in a rush and you want a small meal, good drinks, and a relaxing hookah.

I’ve been to this place 3 times and always with a Groupon, their menu is too expensive $ 16 for 6 small pieces of lamb, small serving of rice and a couple of table spoons of eggplant? The food is ok, and a couple of things are good, like the goat cheese salad, but they would have much better business if they either lower the prices or increase the portions.

Pretty empty on a Tuesday night but it made the setting more intimate. The waitress was super sweet and she handled everything well. The drinks were really good. The hookah was pretty good too. Didn’t run out as fast as I thought. Used a groupon with them and ended up paying less than $ 20 which is better than paying full price. Good place to go with less than 4 people.

Came here to try out some Moroccan food. The Moroccan tea was very good — very minty. It reminded me of the Afghani tea I had tried earlier this year. For the entrees, I chose the Chicken Pastilla and Vegetarian Tajine. The Chicken Pastilla is similar to a filo pastry, like burek. I liked it a lot. It has a crispy, flaky exterior and was filled with savory saffron chicken. The Vegetarian Tajine however was just so-so for my tastes. I had wanted to get the Beef Tajine but they said it was not available. The tajine tasted like a basic vegetable stew to me. It has a strong olive taste(olive oil and whole olives). This seemed like a nice place to try authentic Moroccan food. The portion size of the food is slightly small though and the food didn’t wow me.

I love Moroccan food and wanted to try this place. The place is small but it has a lot of character, the service was really good. I started with the feta cheese and spinach triangles which were really good. Then I order the chicken and shrimp paella and my dinner companion had the chicken pastilla. The paella was good but nothing to rave about however the pastilla was delicious. I had pastilla in Morocco last year and let me tell you this tasted just like the one there. I also had a grapefruiti margarita which was very tasty. I can’t wait to come back and for sure order the chicken pastilla.
