Really neat place, great atmosphere, including a hidden outdoor area. We had a pretty large group, ordering drinks and food, excited about happy hour. Service wasn’t that great, pretty inattentive for most of the night. Toward the end of the night, the bartender brought over some food, which we promptly started munching on. Group of about 15ish people, someone had been ordering food randomly all night. Apparently it wasn’t ours, and the bartender yelled at us for eating it. As if he was going to come back and pick it up and take it to another table. Either situation was bad, he certainly didn’t help himself. Cool space, needs some work on food and service. I doubt I’ll be back until it changes hands.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. Does that sum it up? Food, don’t even.

I walked in at 7:10 pm and was passed by several servers multiple times. The place is not busy for a Monday. At 7:37 pm the first guy asked if I had been helped. No water. No booze. No smile. Uhm — not yet. Don’t waste your time.

Plus: $ 4 margaritas for Cinco de Mayo and not too crowded. Cons: service lagged, music was barely audible and slightly mediocre.

First time here. Just stopped randomly in to grab a drink and the bartender Steve greeted me right away, pleasant guy. Really nice atmosphere, clean and very inviting. I saw some of the appetizers being served and they looked amazing. The price is a little up there but for the quality, service and atmosphere, it’s well worth it.

I met up with a friend at The Hudson Bond to grab a drink before heading to the bus. I was surprised to find this trendy, spacious bar right by the Port Authority that wasn’t too crowded and was pretty relaxing. We were able to grab a table, relax and order a few drinks and actually hear the other person talk. Now that I know it’s there, I wouldn’t mind going back before the bus back to Jersey!

I went here Saturday night for my friend’s birthday. I don’t usually like to go to places with a cover but it seemed cool and it was for my friend’s birthday so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try it. I was glad we did. Also, we got a discount since it was my friend’s birthday so it wasn’t too bad($ 10 marked down to $ 7). It was very stylish inside, leather seats, cool lights, a cool atmosphere and very good music. I am very picky about my dance music but I have to admit I was impressed and my friends and I had a great time dancing. There was a small outside area with little tables set up which was nice to get some air. It was definitely a good place to bring a group of friends and it seems to be the kind of place that is excellent for large parties. I found the staff to be very nice, respectful and friendly. The drinks were just strong enough(the place we went right before that one had very weak drinks so it was easy to compare). I will definitely be coming back here and recommending this place to my friends. I am also curious to come back during dinner time and I know they also have great happy hour specials. Since it’s close to Penn Station, it’s very convenient. My only complaint is the $ 10 cover charge and the $ 3 for coat check I think after the end of the night, it could really add up.

I HAVENEVERBEENSOINSULTED. The worst customer service I’ve ever had. Sometimes New York has that rap of poor hospitality, and after 9 months of living here I had never experienced that until this restaurant. The waitress was foreign and explained the happy hour menu to us, half off cocktails(clearly pointing to the drinks we were going to order). When we got the bill we are charged double what we had been told we would be charged. Asked to speak to the manager and after explaining everything to her she walked away putting her hand in our face and exclaiming«I’m sorry I can’t listen to this.» If you’re looking for a great dining experience, with great, hospitable staff DONTGOHERE. This place only got one star because Unilocal makes you choose at least one-not deserving.

Meh. Good for after work drinks because it’s the only spacious bar in this area of Midtown. There’s really no other reason I would come here… there’s not much personality to the place and the drinks are always super weak.

Came here for some food and drinks with the coworkers after work last week. We made a reservation for a table for 6PM. Good thing we did because it was pretty crowded. Unfortunately, they had us at the table right in front of the door and since people weren’t closing it all the way, the cold draft kept hitting us. Had the Tuna Burger, which was nothing impressive, but I was hungry so it worked. We all kept eating the fries that came with our burgers, not because they were standout in any way, but rather, because when there is lots of beer and liquor right around dinner time, greasy finger food always goes fast. Service was slow, but our server was nice and amendable to serving us shots she had never heard of, but was willing to get the bartender to make. Plenty of TVs that show different games at once for all of the sports aficionados. For everyone else, they pretty much play just top 40s at a healthy volume, which is great. Fairly standard spot just outside Times Square, but far enough so that it’s not too touristy. I’d come back.

3 – 4 stars for food, 0 for service. Visited last Friday for dinner. If you want comfort food, you can’t go wrong with mushroom and brie fries, duck confit nachos or short rib sliders. However, expect them cold, expect to hunt for your own cutlery because the staff didn’t provide us with any.(Good luck getting water). Who brings burgers, then the fries a half hour later and cold? I’m shocked that a place that is mostly a bar, takes 20 minutes to bring you your cocktail order and never offers another after you finish them. I would love to come back for after work nibbles and cocktails, but not if the service will be this bad every time.

In an area sparse with bars/lounges for the after-work crowd, many locals were excited when the Hudson Bond opened. Unfortunately, it does not live up to the hype. Recently, the happy hour has become very unimpressive. The service, while friendly, seems very confused. I don’t know if it’s a management issue, with staff being undertrained, or a motivation issue, but every order takes a long time to be fulfilled. I ordered a scotch, and there was barely enough to cover the base of my glass(literally finished in 3 small sips). It still cost around $ 14. During our last visit, they had run out of a number of items on the menu. The ambiance is nice, and the place certainly has some potential. I just hope it reaches that potential.

There is an outdoor smoking area if you like to smoke. I had some wine… bleh. Tasted like water. The wings were ok. Good spot for after work drinks.

Dined there for a brunch event, and I was quite pleased with the space and ambiance. The place is tucked nicely away, appears small from the outside, but it opens up when you’re in. When we arrived and were seated, it took over 15 minutes for the waiter to arrive. Even upon his arrival, he took our drink order then still had to leave and call upon another waitress to take our order. That took an additional 10mins. Of course we were ticked off because after finally putting in our order, we waited nearly an hour for our food. Each time we needed a waiter for drink refills, we had to go looking for one or flag one down because no one willingly came to our table. Food: The brunch menu presented to me wasn’t much of an option seeing as the only thing there I could eat was the Huevos Rancheros. Everything else came with a side of meat. So no, based on the menu choices, it was not Pescatarian, Vegan or Vegetarian friendly. The brunch menu deal was excellent! For $ 34 you received unlimited mimosas, Bellini’s, bloody Mary’s or juice; your entrée and the dessert of the day. Pretty swell deal but the champagne used for the mimosas and Bellini’s caused myself and two companions headaches. Small issue, for the bigger picture, so next time we know to choose something else. Sitting mishaps and serving issues aside, the food was excellent! I won’t write this place of just yet. I will be dining there again next Sunday for another brunch event, and I will keep my fingers crossed that service will be better.

I’ve been here a few times as it’s close to the office. Any bar that can’t serve a nice draft beer should go out of business. Hudson Bond can’t pour a draft beer that is drinkable. Imagine going to the Port Authority in mid-July and finding a passed out bum in the bathroom. Now take his shoe off and pour a beer into it and have a sip. That is what all of the draft beers taste like at Hudson Bond. Feet. Disgusting, smelly feet is what all of their draft beers taste like. I don’t know what is going on at this place but they need to clean the tap lines or something. It’s really disgusting.

Came here for lunch with a co-worker. We arrived at about 1:05. Our order wasn’t taken for a few minutes but we only ordered some appetizers and sides so we didn’t think it would be an issue. 35-minutes later, I started to get worried. A couple who was sat after us and ordered after we did, stopped the waitress to ask about their food. She said she had spoken to the manager about their wait and it would be out soon. I asked the same question, same answer. A few minutes later the food arrived for the next table. We had sat before them, ordered before them and we were still waiting! It was coming up on 1:45 and we had to start getting back to work. I told the waitress to cancel our order but then she ran to the kitchen and it arrived right after that. We then asked to get it boxed because we really needed to go. In the end, they comped our meal which we really appreciated. I did eat it at my desk and it was yummy(beer battered green beans and brussel sprouts w/the tomato soup). Because I enjoyed the food, I would probably go back and give them another chance. At least they acknowledged their mistake and tried to make us happy in the end.

My time at The Hudson Bond was a top to bottom bad experience. The overall aesthetic is about as bland as you could get. They have floors, walls and a ceiling. That’s where the ambiance of this place ends. Designed on a shoe-string budget, this bridge and tunnel-focused establishment is about as classy as a frozen dinner. The event that was hosted here was a complete mess. They allowed for one bar tender to service about 150 people and supplied staff who were completely unwilling to help out the attendees. Outdoor«seating» is for smoking only… we weren’t allowed to take our food out there… and when some people DID take their food/drinks to the outdoor tables, the scary lady in red pants who seemed to be the manager came out to yell that outside was for smoking only! No food or drinks!(Thanks for the sign telling us this, H.B.) The food was pretty nasty: The Hudson Bond Waffle Fries(setting you back $ 7) were a greasy, flavorless pile of soggy fries and room temperature onion mush. Throw on some tasteless cheese powder… and BAM. I’d avoid this place for myself, my friends or any event that I desire to have in the midtown area.

As I’ve been saying for years, Midtown West is severely deficient in great bars. So I was extremely excited to learn of a new(cocktail-ish) bar in Hudson Station, close to my office. The flip side is that it’s also close enough to all the important transportation hubs that I imagine it’d be packed for most happy hours. A partner company took my team out here after work on a Tuesday for some drinks and food. Their specialty cocktail list is interesting and has something for everyone. I liked the Cucumber Cooler(ginger ale and cucumber type drink), and the Hammer & Pickle was interesting(basically a vodka pickleback cocktail). Be warned that specialty cocktails are $ 14 each! In terms of group food, what they serve is a notch above what typical bars in the area serve. It’s still bar food, but a bit fancier. The LaFrieda cheesburger sliders were pretty damn good and cooked medium well. The waffle fries were also nice and crispy with pecorino cheese sprinkled on top. Buffalo wings were okay. They also have a projector to show games(was here for the March Madness qualifiers), and a weird enclosed outdoor alley for smokers(you don’t have to leave the building to smoke!). Would recommend coming here for happy hour on a weeknight, budget permitting!

A few coworkers and I came here for an after-work drink. First thing that got me excited and probably other NY-ers excited is the 4−7pm 2 for 1 happy hour for draft beers and well drinks ! Great, another potential spot for our corporate happy hours or just a pop after work! We told the host we came here to grab a few pops and he offered us a table — which we thought was much better than standing up. At first, walking in I thought the space was small… but the more I walked into the restaurant/bar the more I realized it was huge! They have decent beers on draft but nothing fancy for the beer lovers out there. Service is medicore as I mimic other folks’ comments about slow service and not being able to find your waiter. All in all, I would come here to grab drinks after work with friends or coworkers but perhaps not a place to dine.
