Came here for the SuperBowl with a group of about 6 people. We came a little earlier so that we could snag a table before the crowds. Upstairs seating was great with plenty of seats and TVs. For a group of about 4 – 6, I would suggest getting their growlers because they offer a discount on refills. Best part about this place: their wings! Not exactly the cheapest bar you’ll find around that area, but will consider coming again to watch sports.

Fun bar in a great location… it gets packed for football and soccer games. It has two levels, and the upstairs closes a lot earlier than be downstairs on weekdays, but when it’s nice out, their half windows are open, giving you this airy vibe and feeling that you’re sitting outside. Overall, it’s a solid place. They have decent beer on tap(just make sure it’s still there as they don’t update their menu frequently enough to match the beers). Service can be a tad slow, even on weekdays when you go for dinner/drinks. The upstairs is a bit darker and has a more chill/romantic vibe, at least on week nights, than the downstairs. As I mentioned, they have a decent selection of craft brews. I came here for drinks with friends last night(and I’ve been here many times before), but I was starving so I also ordered food. Their special was this eggplant Parm soup which I thought was interesting and ordered it. It was super tasty! A bit salty, but the cheese and eggplant ball croutons were crunchy and provided the texture and balance the soup was missing. I got the veggie burger and fries for dinner and it was okay. I like that their patty was homemade, but it was a bit too dry and just too much for the bun. The good thing is that it didn’t fall apart when you ate it — it held together very nicely. However, I’d recommend to them, adding either a sauce or something crunchy to give the burger some more pop and not taste as ‘meh’ when someone eats it, because the patty itself isn’t bad. Surprisingly, the veggie burger is super filling, especially because it’s very large. I was underwhelmed by the fries… they we’re a bit soggy and had no flavor to them. Needed to add a lot of pepper and some salt, and dip them in honey mustard to enjoy. Overall, it’s a good neighborhood bar and I’ll definitely be back periodically.

Went here yesterday as part of a mini bar tour of NYC with a friend. This was BYFAR the best spot I’ve been to in quite some time. Beer selection is awesome and customer service was great. Our bartender Lee-Ann was sweetheart and her beer knowledge was on point. I was being indecisive and she helped me pick a great beer for my tastes. Even when it got a bit busier, she was always attentive and on her game. She wound up giving us some great suggestions for our next stops on our bar tour. #givethischickaraise Darren, the manager, was a super cool dude too. He gave us some other suggestions for our bar tour that wound up being spot on. I can’t wait to be back here ASAP! The only crappy part about this place is that it set the bar so high for the rest of our tour. We went to some awesome spots afterwards but I’d say Brazen Fox was by far #1. Check it out for great drinks, atmosphere, and service. Thanks so much for such a great time guys! :)

This is a nicer option for the area. I would recommend coming for the bar area and getting a seat at the bar and hanging out. I’ve come for dinner but… we were seated at a bar stool table and it was really loud and really seemed more like a bar than a restaurant. The service was friendly, the salad I ordered(Kale Ceasar) was HEAVY on the cheese so ask for that on the side. Otherwise, I’d say this is a good place to hang out for drinks and not have your feet stick to the ground like the surrounding bars…

We stopped in for a quick drink on our way back from the Village Halloween parade. We enjoyed a table at the window on the second floor and watched the people walk by. Service was good, place was ultra-crowded, and prices were NYC average– around $ 7 for a draft beer.

Had a great night here! Was stoked that they had shock top and cider on tap. Great selection of craft beers. I highly recommend for a Thursday night with friends if you’re trying to have a good time, but not too crazy. Can’t wait to try the food next time I come! Also, INCREDIBLE music choice. «Glorified G» by Peal Jam? Who is in charge of the tunes? Absolute genius. Great place, will definitely be coming back!

It was late and we were starving. It seems that on a Sunday everything closes pretty early in this area. With me not being a native of the city I was happy to find a place still open and willing to serve not only food but alcohol as well. I ordered a plate of fried pickles and a glass of red wine. Fancy I know. lol. The fried pickles were a let down. The breading wasn’t seasoned at all and the pickles didn’t even have a taste. After one bite I decided that I would put the remainder of my attention on the glass of red wine. This place is a cool spot to dive into for a drink. The bartender was pretty cool and very helpful. She suggested the burger for my friend and she enjoyed each bite. Next time I will go for the burger.

I have been wanting to try The Brazen Fox since it moved into my neighborhood a few years ago, and I’m so glad I finally did. When we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by a very friendly hostess who lead us to our table upstairs. To our surprise, it was happy hour until 8p, which meant $ 2 off draft beers and sangria. I went with the Autumn Spice sangria and it was delicious! We ordered the Brazen Burger with sweet potato fries, as well as chicken tacos. The tacos were fantastic, and I would definitely recommend. The burger was nothing to write home about, but the sweet potato fries were pretty good. I am definitely looking forward to coming back — overall a lively joint with a great food menu and diverse drink options. A good ‘go-to’ restaurant with casual American fare and attentive service.

any place that has happy hour until 8 is cool with me. if youre into sports, dont fret, they have enough tv’s to trigger your pedestrian epilepsy.

I came in midday to try the oysters with my friend. She order the shrimp sandwich, I had the buffalo wrap and subbed the cream spinach as well as having a few oysters. Service was great our waiter was sweet and attentive. However it was fairly empty. My first Coke came out like syrup and she happily replaced with a Sprite. The food wasn’t that great. The oysters were regular. No selection. The shrimp sandwich was pretty good. It has multigrain toast with a lobster salad, tempura battered shrimp, and avocado. The fries were pretty good and crispy as well. My buffalo sandwich paled in comparison. It was boring and overloaded with shredded chicken. The cream spinach was pretty darn disgusting and I have never said that at a restaurant before. It smells like a pungent oatmeal and is literally soaked in cream. It looks as though they sautéed the spinach and then on short order dump it in some cream, put some breadcrumbs on top and toss it in the salamander for a second. I mean it was really pretty bad. I would only come back for that seafood sandwich and some cheap oysters.

I love this place. I like to sit upstairs by the windows in both summer and winter. The service is good, the food is decent enough, and the atmosphere is really fun. Even when its super crowded there still seems to be enough room to have a good time — unlike some other bars. It’s a good place to watch football, or just catch up with a friend.

Great ambiance! I’ve been twice so far and both times I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with French fries & it was SO good! BUT be careful with the wings… We ordered BBQ Wings and got hot wings mixed in with them!

I’ve been to Brazen dozens of times, and am always really pleased with my experience! Although the area is littered with tons of sports bars(sidebar, penny farthing, 13th step, etc) most of them have a really trashy feel and untrustworthy food. Brazen Fox still has the fun sports bar vibe, but it’s super classy on the inside and they’ve got bomb food. So basically, if you want a sports bar atmosphere but are looking for a good meal to go along with it then Brazen Fox is the move. I even took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner last year because he only wanted a spot where he could watch the Rangers playoffs, and it was the best option for quality food at a sports bar. The menu has got a variety of sandwiches, salads and apps and there are also some entrees mixed in like salmon and ribs. Amongst all of the decadent fried options I almost always have a caesar salad. It’s just really damn good here. Tons of fresh parm cheese, croutons and lots of dressing — just the way I like it. Randomly enough, they also have the best mac and cheese that I’ve ever had in NYC which is saying alot. I almost always sneak in a side order of this… mmm. It’s got a delicious layer of crunchy breadcrumbs on top which perfectly compliments the gooey and cheesy noodles. Happy hour is til’ 8 so you don’t have to rush over after work which is really nice. You can snag a five dollar well drink and get two dollars off beer and wines. I don’t live in the area anymore so I wouldn’t make a trip to NYC to specifically come here, but if I’m in the around and am an in need of a drink/dinner spot then it definitely does the trick.

Actually came here twice in 24 hours — once for Halloween and the other to celebrate a NYC Marathon finisher! It was very busy on Halloween but that was fine — I was little disappointed in their $ 20CC minimum; I am used to other places in the area that allow 10 or 15. Still not the end of the world. Pretty decent drinks. On Sunday night, I returned with a group — we were thankfully able to get a table large enough for us! Relatively attentive server; it was once again busy. I had the Brazen Burger and it was delicious — wished I would have known that they were known for their Bone Marrow Butter burger(would have gotten that). The thing that really got me though was when we were all paying our tabs and about the leave, our server came over to our table and asked about the tip she received. I guess it had come out that she had not received 20% and her manager requested she ask for feedback! Wait, what? While I do think she did a fine job, I left her about 18% on my total tab(normally I do 20% on food and a buck per drink). A lot of people were just drinking, which can lead to that but it shouldn’t matter. I don’t mind that someone questioned it because we had split it on to a few cards, which can lead to confusion. Why didn’t her manager come over and ask for feedback versus making our server walk back on over. We had left her some additional cash on the table so I believe it ended up at around 20% but to have our server almost shame us into giving them more. I’m all for a great tip but if you think as a leader a server should get more, take a moment and take to your customers as a manager, don’t send your 23 year-old staff. Thanks!

I have come here multiple times in the past for the Brazen Burger, which is delicious and maybe would have gotten the restaurant a 2nd star if the remainder of this review didn’t happen. But it did, and let me tell you why after years of patronage(in the Manhattan AND Westchester locations), my husband and I will never come back. 1. We had a party of 10 and were told it was a 1hr wait. Totally fine! We were happy to have some drinks and wait it out, since no none was starving. Every single chair and table outside was empty, but management said we could not sit there(even though we had purchased their drinks) because they can’t accommodate more than parties of 4 outside for just drinks. It was completely empty. It was 8pm on a colder night. That is the worst publicity and media spin ever. 2. We were seated 30min later, which was great. Then it took 10 more minutes to get menus. But here’s the kicker. One of the reasons we were there was to watch the Mets playoff game. And the waitress promptly told us(and everyone else on the 2nd floor) that the TVs were«locked» to their respective channels. Which meant that in Manhattan during a playoff run for a NEWYORKCITYBASEBALLTEAM, they were going to show Florida college football on the main screen. That’s just un-NY and management should be ashamed of themselves. While they eventually did change to the Mets game before 1st pitch(there would have been a mass exodus if they had not), the lack of support for NYC sports is disappointing. 3. I’m 5 months pregnant. I now order everything well done. I ordered my burger well done, my friend saw the waitress write down well done. And 30 min later, I had a medium burger. And the girl delivering the food said«well she wrote down all medium burgers.» Not true. And also, food was served without any utensils or napkins. We had to go to the bar and ask for our own. 4. 30 min later, after being told«a well done burger takes a while, you’ll have to be patient,» a 2nd medium burger was laid before me. I took 2 bites and cut it in half and even the server admitted it was not well done. It took them 30min(during which time the rest of my friends finished their meal) to make a 2nd incorrect order. Unbelievable. The waitress was apologetic but by the time this happened, I was done for the night. I used to love this place. We watched Rangers playoffs at this place. My med school used to hold events at the Westchester branch of this place. After last night, my friends and I will never be back and will widely and loudly spread the word. Oh, and I got sick that night after dinner. From the 2 bites of medium burger I took before I realized it wasn’t well done? Probably not. But who knows. I’ve seen comments on this page questioning the cleanliness of their food. Again, worst NYC dining experience in a while. Never coming back. With so many delicious places in the area, there’s no point wasting time at an establishment that doesn’t support ALL of the city’s sports teams and can’t make a burger correctly over a 1hr period.

I like this place to sit outside for happy hour or grab a quick drink. I decided to give it a shot for dinner on Friday and I wasn’t really impressed. We ordered chips and guacamole which wasn’t bad but we literally got 10 chips. It looked ridiculous being served to us so I’m shocked this is even on the menu. I also got the Hamburger. It tasted pretty burnt on the outside so I wouldn’t go back there for food to say the least. For cocktails or to watch a game on one of their tvs I would come back for.

The service here is friendly, the cocktails and beer are tasty, but the food is lacking. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, and it left something to be desired — maybe if the chicken were crispy? My friends ordered different hamburgers, and also remarked that their food was just average. The prices aren’t too bad, honestly, but based on the location and atmosphere, you’d expect the food to be great. Speaking of which, the atmosphere is incredible. If you can, ask for a table on the top floor, near the window so that you can look out onto 3rd Ave.

The service wasn’t bad. The food was egh. The drinks were weak. I came here with my girlfriends on a Sunday. The weather was scorching, so we wanted to quickly find a place where we can cool off and grab some drinks. My tolerance isn’t the highest, so I usually get at least buzzed off of one glass of sangria. That is all I wanted to be. I ordered the mango ginger sangria. it sounded pretty interesting. Taste wise — it was really good. The ginger was strong enough to make the sangria not taste like a lollipop(as what many restaurants do), but it was subtle enough to remind you are drinking. Sip after sip, I was waiting for the buzz to kick in. By the time I got to the bottom of my glass, I looked at my company to see if I was just the tank of the day. Nope. They were all expecting the same thing, and they left disappointed. I also had the pulled pork sliders. The dish comes with 3 sliders a plate. Yea, it was filling, but it was sooooooo greasy. You feel really heavy at the end of the meal. When you look at the bottom of the bun, you can see all of the oil and grease saturated in it. My friend had the buffalo chicken wrap. Yea, it came with a lot of fries, but she didn’t like the flavor of the meat. I didn’t try it, so I don’t have any word on this. Service wise, the waitresses were really attentive. My friend thought they were too attentive, popping up every few minutes, but I thought it wasn’t bad. I will probably only return for a beer or two(or three, heh).

Consider yourself a beer geek. Looking for good beer in NYC. Coors Light and Bud Light will never make cut for some of us. Here you go, find a good craft beer place. How bout The Brazen Fox Kitchen & Craft Beer… This place is serious about beer, food and brunch. They got a huge selection of craft beers on tap and knowledgeable staff who knows about beers. Tell them your style and they will pick the right beer for you. If you are a NYC beer genius name the beer you want and you will get it faster. The food gives you that wonderful warm feeling on a real chilly day. Great bar food, good selection of beer and outstanding service. This establishment is a good choice for beer lovers. I have zero complaints.
