I walked by this place, with my boyfriend, this past weekend in search for a dim sum restaurant. We stopped and asked them for directions, and they were SO friendly, the lady even walked us to a good restaurant. DON’T FALLFORIT. From actual experience with them, all they want is your money — they’ll even go as far as offering a «happy ending». After finishing with lunch, so grateful that they walked us to a restaurant, we decided to go back for a half hour massage. I had a sub par massage at best. The lady was clearly not professionally trained. My boyfriend, which they placed on the other end of the of the room, had an unacceptable experience. While I was just asked to take off my top clothing, he was told to undress to his boxers. Having had massages before, he thought it’d be fine. Five minutes in, I hear the lady that was giving him a massage, start to cough. It got incrementally worse over the next few minutes. She had to have been coughing at least 5 minutes, to the point it sounded like she was going to throw up, and it was disgusting. After she finished coughing, she went back into the room and began walking on my boyfriend’s back. If you are a trained masseuse, I’m sure this is fine. When you, however, seem to not have professional experience, it is unacceptable and incredibly unpleasant. To top things off, perhaps as a way to apologize for my boyfriend’s bad back massage, she asks him to flip over. After she massages his temples for a bit, she goes and grabs his penis asking if he wanted to finish. WHATTHEFUCK. When I heard it from the other room, I assumed she was asking if he wanted to stay half an hour more, turns out in a way she was. He did not know what do to. He could not believe what had just happened and just wanted to get out of there. He didn’t tell me until a few blocks down, and being the diplomatic person he is, he paid them(jf I had known at the time, there is no way in hell we would have paid them). They surcharge us 3 dollars each for«tax», and then ask for a tip. We went with it because we thought it was the right thing to do, clearly they needed the money. I realize there are people who may think«how could they go along with that?» but truthfully, and slightly embarrassingly, we did not realize what was actually going on. These people took complete advantage of that, and we were too trusting. Although we will learn from this experience, it is still an unacceptable experience to go through.

I should’ve trusted my instincts and walked away. The only reason I went inside was because my friend and I wanted to dodge the storm. We decided to get a back massage, asking for the price they said 40 dollars for 1 hour. I asked if there was a 10 mins option and he said yes, 10 dollars. And then we asked if there was a 20 min option and he said yes 20 dollars. Once we showed hesitation he said 18 dollars for 20 mins! Just Come in. Thats a sure sign not to go in, when they start giving discounts. Other massage places on Pell street would never budge from their listed prices. Whatever, I also couldnt find this place on Unilocal but I figured I wasnt looking hard enough. But turns out it wasnt created. So I created it for you all to give you warning 20 min massage starts off with this guy touching my neck. Is this supposed to feel good? He then picks up his phone while giving me a massage and hes having a minute long conversation. A minute is very precious when getting a massage. He would also constantly walk back and forth left to right of the massage table. Then at one point he stopped and went to turn on the AC. Seriously? He comes back and massages the top portion of my back with his forearm. I can hear him flipping through his phone while doing this and typing with his other hand. At this point I have had enough, his weak massage and unprofessionalism is too much to tolerate. You know that part of the massage at the end? The part where they pat you down and give you one last massage throughout your back. He patted down my back maybe twice and said okay, finish! Even the end of it was half assed. I put my sneakers back on and grab my bag and see him outside clipping his nails. Disgusting! I was not treated as a respected customer, but just an easy dollar. This goes down in history as the worst massage Ive ever had in my life. There’s so many more massage places to try on Pell, and I have tried 3 of them so far. I think this one is located on the end of Pell for a reason. I warn you, DONOTBOTHER. Save your money and try another spot.
