That Burger

I tried their burger. It was good, maybe a bit greasy but maybe that’s why its good.
The mild wings were not mild enough… why they don’t have a honey glaze option is baffling. An order comes with 5. I ate one. Left 4 on the plate. You would think a waiter would offer to make it right, take it off the bill or hell offer something else instead. Nope.
I did not have any alcohol, so I cannot write about that.

Since I live on the block, I’ve now been back 4 times. The burgers are insanely delicious and the tater tots are awesome as well. Staff is really nice. Looks like I hit an off day in 2011!

In my professional estimation, That Burger (@ThatBurgerTent) might be one of the best kept secrets in New York City.
Of course, we all love Shake Shack with a passion that keeps us waiting upwards of 60 – 70 minutes at times to dive into one of their In-​N-​Out esque creations in Madison Square Park… but what if I revealed that you could experience something as good, if not better than the legendary Shack Burger, in Alphabet City? And you wouldn’t be forced to stand in line for an hour to get it? Well, as you can guess, I really think these guys are doing something special here, and it’s only a matter of time until they blow up.
My marker of a successful burger is in the whimsical nature to bring me back to my youth. They make a simple burger that does that. It’s like a bouncy castle of deliciousness that ground beef fans of any age will love and adore.
Though the burgers are delectable on their own, be sure to get a side of their bourbon laced ketchup. It’s what dreams are made of!

that burger is located inside billy hurricanes. there’s skeeball (YES!), a photobooth ($ 5 fail), and cheap-​ish delicious burgers. the wings are good. medium = really spicy, even for my palette. so go for mild if you have a soft mouth. otherwise you’ll be drinking the ranch dressing to cool off.
the burger reminds me of a gourmet white castle slider. this is a good or bad thing, depending on your tastes.

Build your own or choose one of their specialty burgers off a small menu of items. French fries with a bourbon ketchup. Tater tots too. Along with a cold pint and a shot this is really what life is all about. The simple things. The tasty juicy simple things.
Order, then head back downstairs to Idle Hands and they will even bring your burger to you when ready. Had a cold pint of Sierra Nevada in my hand when my burger appeared in front of me hot and ready to eat.
Personally, I love living in a city where everything is delivered!

Great burger place located inside a bar so generic I’ve forgotten its name. The bar has orange walls with big screens and random Americana plastered to them, a la Applebee’s, and they blast radio pop all day. Like I said, generic.
Don’t judge a burger place by its cover, though. The burgers are delicious, juicy, and cooked right in front of you on the griddle. Their titular burger has onions and jalapenos along with delicious melty cheese. They have about a dozen other special burgers or of course you can build your own. Their fries — regular, cajun, or bacon flavored (yes, bacon) are cooked perfectly and served with bourbon ketchup, an innovation I’m definitely in love with. About $ 15 for two burgers and an order of fries, or more if you go for some booze from the bar. TB accepts all credit cards, and is open as late as the bar is, as far as I can tell.
I almost rated this place down to a 4 just for the environment. The bar staff is annoying and seem inconvenienced by having a small restaurant in their midst, but they guy making the burgers is really nice and will come over to check on you if the bar staff neglects to do so. I’ve always gone midday and found the place empty, but judging by the other reviews you’d be best to avoid bar-​hopping times. Hopefully this place gets some business and can get its own storefront, because it’s one of my favorite spots in the area.

Delicious burgers (made with lafrieda meat) conveniently located outside of Artists & Fleas, right near the waterfront. The tent caters to all burger tastes, they even have a great vegan Portobello option. Come out and support Dan and his burger tent!

Went with, «That Burger» and it’s THAT good. The griddled jalapenos and onions under the cheese are a fantastic finishing touch. The custom blend of meat, whatever it is, is great. And of course it’s enclosed by the ideal hamburger bun — Martin’s.

That Burger Tent is amazing. I can’t say anything bad about it. Last fall I looked forward to getting a burger every Sunday afternoon, and I was pretty sad when they closed up shop for the winter. The burgers are flavorful, tender and perfectly priced. Now that Artists & Fleas has moved closer to the waterfront, you can grab a burger and head half a block over to East River State Park and enjoy magnificent city views while enjoying a delicious burger. I’m super excited for the tent’s season to begin — ⁴⁄₂ can’t come soon enough.

Great delicious juicy burgers. Me and the chef Dan go way back and this is by far one of the top 5 burgers I’ve had. Including some well known places in Philly and New Orleans. Not just saying this because I’m his buddy but they will fill you up. I would recommend the «That Burger» which is topped with sautéed onions & jalapeños, american cheese for only $ 5 I believe. That’s the one I tried. Good stuff!
