Guys, the place and price is awesome but the way they cook is horrible… The guy who is cooking touch all your food, than swipe hand to his t-shirt… Than all over again but with different order. Check out how he cook the eggs sunny side up… I was in shock he just press it with a palm of his hand… than he opens the refrigerator and can you imagine how many germs in that food that we order… I used to love this place but after I saw everything that he was done I’m not gonna back for sure…

For the price you can’t beat it! Both breakfast and lunch/dinner done well, for the low. Add that with some great customer service and you have the winner that shines bright like aTexas Star.

Went here because it was close to the metro entrance. Also one of the few places that did breakfast near me. I was pleasantly surprised. I got the deluxe bacon burger and both the beef and the bacon were great. The place is small and cheap, cheap! Like the other reviews say, but what really stood out was the service. I’ve never had such good service in a hole in the wall place like that. Definitely worth coming back!

Love this place. Come all the time. Best greasy spoon in the area. Friendly staff, great prices, and delicious food. I often get the egg and cheese on a roll, and the egg is always fluffy and not overcooked. The rolls they use are high quality as well, much better than the surrounding bodegas. You also can’t go wrong with the grilled chicken salad, BLT, or burger and fries.

Burger: the final Washington Heights frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Texas Star. Its eight-year mission: to explore strange new combinations, to seek out new taste and new burger names, to boldly go where no burGR has gone before. The hispanico vulcan owner seems to know how to manage his starship: «Spock, where the hell’s the burgr you promised?» – «One damn minute, admiral!» – But after 7PM the interstellar beam won‘t let you in, you‘ll have to wait 12 earth hours.

Your typical corner deli breakfast spot. Although, this place seems to be a little busier than others. There are a few stools so you can sit an eat at the counter and that’s about it. Also if you’re sitting at the counter there will be people directly behind you standing in line to order their food for takeout. The breakfast here was fine. Not too big of a fan of the sausage they used. I would come back though.

Dude, they serve grits. And it’s super affordable, I don’t even feel bad for not cooking. I come here for breakfast way too much and I don’t even care. Terrific service! Tip: Bacon Burgers are the ultimate hangover cure.

3.50 $ for a bacon cheeseburger! That’s incredible & it’s pretty damn good. I only wish they were open later!

Oh, Texas Star, how I heart you. You are the typical greasy-spoon experience that I so often crave. Bacon, sausage, eggs, and grits? Check. Hot dog or beef sausage with all of the fixings put on for you? Check. And. the pièce de résistance: Bacon cheeseburgers with all of the good stuff with cheese fries? Ding-ding-ding! The best part of Texas Star is a tie between the prices(super duper cheap) and the speedy, friendly service(I clocked them at about 5 minutes from cold patty on the flat top to my first bite). The worst part is it’s hours. They close at «7 pm» which can mean anytime between 6:30 and when they feel like closing. They are also closed on Sundays.

3 stars is not enough for this place. For the space, they spit out some WICKED burgers, fresh, juicy made to order with all the works. not a fan of the fries, so the cheeseburger itself is about $ 2.75. can’t beat that. Their fresh lemonade is awesome. I miss living in the heights(hamilton heights that is) because of places like this! Sigh. All i have is kennedy chicken. which is fine, if you’re into that kind of thing.

This place is amazing. It’s a shame they are so small, it’s like a hallway. Burgers are cheap and great and they use real pork bacon unlike all the Halal delis in the neighborhood. Plus, the guys behind the counter are so friendly. Wish they delivered!!! Maybe one day… Anyway, love this place!

Texas Star is a small greasy spoon with a single counter. I’ve only eaten there once so far, but I’ll be going back again. A deluxe cheeseburger(includes fries, lettuce, and tomato) was only $ 4.50, and both the burger and the fries were really good! Not Shake Shack, mind you, but better than average. Other menu items were similarly inexpensive. Sandwiches with bacon seem to be a neighborhood favorite based on all the people who came in and ordered them while I was sitting at the counter.
