There is limited seating so it’s a bit of a wait but id say it was worth it. I had the tan-tan ramen for $ 10. Generous portions and just enough kick. I’ll be going again as its right next to a customer of mine. Cash only.

I’m sad. I really liked the ramen here. However, I got the worst food poisoning I’ve ever gotten from here a few days ago. Going to avoid this place from now on. The restaurant itself was so hot too, I don’t know how they keep their food fresh. Be careful if you choose to eat here.

I liked this place. This is the only place that we ate twice. I had the rice balls. They were unique. The lunch teriyaki was great. I enjoyed the spicy udon too. You know the place is great when you’ve got to push the cops out of the way to get a seat. It is tight, but the wait staff is friendly.

Good deal, small place but not really super tasty. I could say it is just ok and good option compared to totto ramen that is always crowded. I would like to try their chanpon soup

Have been here lots of times since it nears Fordham University. Love the miso noodle(with wavy noodle) and add an extra egg. The egg is very delicious. One bowl of ramen is about $ 10, not including tax and tips.

Food was okay. I liked the setup that it was like a ramen bar. I had the kaarage but didn’t really enjoy it as it wasn’t very crispy and was more mushy. Both sure if too much oil or what caused it. I had their«whopper ramen» and wasn’t a big fan of it. Way too many veggies in my opinion.

Great food, Great atmosphere at an affordable price. It does get too crowded at times and you can barely even walk inside to order and they don’t deliver, which is a bit of a hassle considering im a college student.

Just a block away from Columbus Circle lies Terakawa Ramen. They only have about 10 to 12 seats at most, but this little ramen spot boasts one of the best ramen anywhere in the city and at affordable prices. They have the classic pork bone broth ramen, the spicy miso, and a vegetable ramen. I ordered the Mayu Ramen, which is the pork bone broth base flavored with black garlic oil. This was one of the richest broths I’ve ever had! And I’m putting it right up there with the famed pork broth at Ippudo. The toppings that the Mayu came with were nothing special, just two slices of pork, some bamboo shoots and half an egg. I ordered an extra full egg, and later after I ordered kae-dama because one serving of noodles is just never enough! The noodles were cooked just right, not overdone but also not too hard. So, if you don’t want to make reservations 2 weeks in advance at Ippudo Westside, go give Terakawa Ramen a try. :)

This place is so cute and great! I tried the veggie ramen and was pretty impressed with the sweet soymilk broth. The place was packed and cozy and people kept streaming in, but it doesn’t feel like an overly rushed atmosphere. Sanitation grade«B» when I visited, but, like, whatever. The sole waitress was friendly and speedy. Cash only, but that’s okay. There’s an ATM at the deli a few storefronts down.

Had the #1 on the menu — basic ramen with pork, bamboo shoots, noodles, and other sides. It was pretty good. The broth tasted thicker than the watery ones I get elsewhere. Comparing this with ippudo, its very similar! I love how small and cute this place is! literally hole in the wall

My wife and I stopped into this hole-in-the wall ramen shop on 9th Ave. as we were walking back to our car after a long day in NYC. We were hungry but not sure what we wanted to eat. Then we saw this spot that we had passed before. We were glad we stopped in. The place only has 10 – 12 seats around a U-shaped counter but the prices are extremely fair and the portions quite large. For $ 11.95 I had a pork-based broth with tons of noodles, shitake mushrooms, assorted veggies, bok choy,(which I added for $ 1 extra) and, most importantly, an excellent piece of pork belly that was moist and popping with salty taste. I believe it was the house special because it had the name of the place attached to it. My wife chose more of a curry based spicy ramen with ground chicken and it was very good as well. There are many different soup combinations to choose from. You can also add individual items, such as the bok choy, at your discretion so chances are there will be a match for you here. This is not in name one of the more famous ramen shops in NYC such as Totto. But it is more than adequate for a quick bite with no frills. Because of the limited seating, you may have a short wait but it will be worth it.

Terakawa ramen is delicious. It’s a great post theater spot to warm yourself up on a cold day. I had the regular Terakawa ramen, gyoza and fried rice. I loved the combination of mushroom, juicy pork, bamboo shoots and pickled ginger. They were very delicious. The noodles were cooked to just the right consistency too, Just be warned that the place is tiny so not a good idea to bring a large party of more than three people. Also cash only. But the price for ramen is just as it should be. I can’t wait to go back and try different flavors.

I’m surprised I’ve never been here before as I’m always looking for a good bowl of ramen. It’s a spot with delicious ramen, quick service, and relatively cheap prices. There’s no delivery so we ate in. There are roughly around 10 seats, so when we arrived there was a wait, but we only waited for 5 minutes due to the fast service. I ordered the Kara Terakawa, which is the spicy version of the original – the added chili oil which is so good! The pork was literally a slab of pork with the fat on it, and while I didn’t eat the fat, I appreciated it being there to add more flavor for the broth. My food came out really quick(7 minutes or so) and the bill came out to be $ 14, including tax and tip. Overall a wonderful experience and would love to come again!

I was stationed in Japan for three years in the Navy, and since I have been back, I have had a really hard time finding food that tastes authentically Japanese(granted, I live in Maine, but I eat Japanese food almost any chance I get, especially on my occasional trips to NYC). The ramen is very good, in my opinion, although admittedly I didn’t eat a ton of ramen when I was living in Japan. However, their gyoza and their chicken curry sides were SO perfect, meaning when I tasted these foods I was instantly revisiting Japan in my mind. It wasn’t that the food was the most amazing food I’d ever eaten, although it was delicious, it was that it was just so exactly the right flavors. Not sure how else to describe it, but let’s just say I’ll be coming here again. I don’t mind bumping elbows with the person next to me, I don’t mind paying in cash, and I don’t mind waiting a few minutes to get a seat when I know the food I’m about to eat is this good. YAHM

Been here a couple times already. It’s really small here and very cramped. Today was the first time I got the ramen to go and I was a little sad. Both my friend and I did not get any meat in our ramen, and no, we did not get the vegetarian order. The ramen is good but I personally prefer totto ramen over this place.

3.5 stars. I had low expectations for Terakawa Ramen to begin with, honestly, so I was actually quite satisfied at the taste of the ramen. This tiny ramen joint has a U-shaped counter with seating for about 10 – 12 people max. There’s hardly even any standing room. Luckily, the SO and I were able to squeeze into a corner after waiting a couple of minutes for other patrons to finish their meals. We ordered the«fried chicken» which could hardly be called fried chicken. I’d say the chicken they show on their menu is completely false advertising. If I could, I’d give 0 stars for this soggy excuse of «fried» pieces of junk dark thigh meat. Don’t ever get this. It comes with spicy mayo which masks the horrible soggy batter. I ordered the kara terakawa(spicy ramen) with straight noodles and pork. You get one lame piece of meat that is actually marinated quite well. It’s also quite fatty. I found the straight noodles to be of a good texture. I also found the broth to be surprisingly satisfying. Not like Totto or Ippudo satisfying, but decent for a lesser-known and less prestigious ramen place. The egg I found to be weird… the yolk was the consistency of honey and clear like honey and had a weird taste. Broth was not too salty and the spice level was good. If I was desperate for noodle soup around the Columbus Circle area that wasn’t Thai or Totto and Terakawa had no line at all, I would consider returning. Prices are very reasonable at $ 9.50-$ 12 a bowl. Service is decent.

It’s a tight fit, can’t imagine what it’ll feel like in the winter time. A hole in the wall that some would describe cozy, despite the slight claustrophobia I felt it did have that feeling. Ramen was hot, and overall didn’t give me any tummy problems so it’s exactly as my rating A-OK. Their ramen is sub par, slightly better than packaged ramen, but I’m sure you can home cook a better one. The noodles weren’t as thoroughly cooked as they should have been, BARELY any chicken in the ramen that offered it. Good place to eat if you’re alone, if you’re coming with friends, or one other person, be prepared to not get a seat together and have everyone hear your conversation. Moderately priced I suppose, but the quality is below the prices they’re charging. It disappointed me, but I would come return if I had no other option(or if I’m lazy) because it’s just so darn close to where I need to be. Also: CASHONLY. Which sucks, because you’re in midtown and students and workers usually only ever use card.

Terakawa is a cozy, little hole in the wall that offers the authentic ramen bar experience.(Seriously. You sit on bar stools and eat your meal at the counter.) But what Terakawa lacks in square footage, it makes up for in selection, price, and ambience. Onto the food! Terakawa has around 5 – 8 options for ramen depending on their specials. They also have some curry dishes and appetizers, but, of course, I was there to get my ramen fix. I tried the karamiso ramen, which was slightly spicy and served with slices of chashu pork and an egg. The noodles were springy and weren’t soggy like some other places that overcook their noodles. I was definitely a fan of the broth, which wasn’t overly salty and had a nice kick. For the price of $ 11 and the lack of wait time on a Saturday afternoon, Terakawa delivered in terms of portion and flavor. I would’ve liked for my chashu pork to be a bit less fatty, but the main star, the noodles and broth, were definitely up to par. Though I admit that I am no ramen expert, my taste buds were certainly satisfied after this visit. Service-wise, the waitress(who was serving everyone) was attentive and polite. Some final tips: — Again, the space is small — about enough seating for 11 or 12 people at any one time — so there may be a wait(but where in New York can you eat without a wait?) — No bathroom, so be sure to plan accordingly — Try one of the onigiri as an amuse bouche! They’re warm and come in several varieties

Very good, tiny and tough to get a seat ramen joint near the Lincoln Center and Columbus Circle. In order to get a spot at the counter, you’ll have to be lucky and get there at the right time or expect a long wait. The miso ramen was very tasty and quite filling and the broth wasn’t too salty either. Service isn’t the best because it’s always busy but prices are very cheap. Also note that it’s cash only and they won’t take any bill larger than a $ 20.

For takeout I got the Terakawa Ramen and the broth was good, but I got pretty disgusted when I saw the pork. Not sure if you can tell from the pic, but all I got was an inch thick layer of FAT. LITERALLY no meat. Thank you for the fat layer, like I need another one. I called the restaurant to let them know and she didn’t really seem to care. she should’ve offered me something but she just said«oh okay» NOTRECOMMENDED.
