I ordered milk tea with pearls today. The tea was fine but the tapioca balls were hard in the center. Ten Ren is supposed to be a premium tea outlet and, seriously, how hard is it to get this right?? This is inexcusable!

Was at Ten Ren to ask for information about black tea in the form of a brick. The lady I spoke with wasn’t too friendly. When I tried to give a description of the tea to her and also specified it was a gift from China and before I even had a chance to finish, she said our tea are Ten Ren tea! Not from China. OK. I wanted to ask if there was anyway they can help me break up the brick tea because it is so hard and I tried banging on it with back of the knife handle. Thought since they sell only tea, they might be able to help. No such luck. Not friendly or helpful at all.

It used to be actually GOOD. 14 years ago I tried Ten Ren in Brooklyn and was instantly hooked as a kid. Then I was going to the Chinatown Ten Ren alot before they did some renovations(and eventually moved down a couple feet). It was still ok then, but I’ve tried Kungfu and Vivi etc and their stuff is more superior unfortunately. What makes Ten Ren bad now: DON’T EVERGETTHEIRMILKTEAS! It’s the blandest milk bubble tea everrrrrr. Please save a couple bucks and go to nearby Vivi to get some rich milky tea. It’s safe to get: fruit-flavored teas — it’s just syrup and juice, you can’t really go wrong with that. Con: They now charging taxes to drinks(fo realz) Pro: I like how the baristas wear those little mouth masks thing for food safety

Awful customer service. Out of almond milk, just said they were out of pretty much every dairy alternative. I don’t even think he w was listening. Just kept saying no to everything I asked. I walked out in TOTAL disgust. Not going back.

Do i have to say anymore? I love bubble tea. I literally drank 4 cups of bubble in one day(of course not at the same place). This place is located right in central of chinatown. The store next day is authentic tea leaves from China, so some of the tea flavors form this bubble tea place is from them. I will definitely recommend this as it is not powder flavor. They have the taro green milk tea(its their specialty, so tend to run out pretty quick, so it must be good). i didn’t get to try since they ran out that day. I decided to try jasmine green milk tea and I love it.

I got a bubble tea here. It was average tasting, despite the higher-than-average cost.

I ordered an iced honey green tea. The«barista» did not mix the honey into the drink so I got a mouthful of honey on my first sip. Sent it back to be mixed. This time it tasted like a chemical imitation of tea with honey. Bitter yet sweet – like putting a tea bag in your mouth. Just awful. I don’t mind paying $ 5.50 for a green tea. I would not drink this if it was free.

Their bubbles are AMAZING, perfect amount of chewiness and sweetness. They didn’t get hard or cold before I finished my drink, and honestly were the only thing I really liked. I got the Thai tea bubble tea which was okay, it tasted like too much milk and not enough tea, so it was really lacking and too sweet. For the price, around $ 5, for 12 oz, it’s too expensive compared to other bubble tea shops in Chinatown. I also got one of their macarons, the rose lychee one, and it was so bad I had to spit it out the second I bit into it. Maybe I should’ve gone with the green tea to be safe, but I was feeling adventurous.

My boyfriend loves the King’s Tea from Ten Ren, and he always stops by here whenever we are in Chinatown because it’s such a treat for him. King’s Tea is quite expensive — I believe around $ 8 for a large — but you also get tapioca in there as well. King’s Tea is one of the premium Oolong tea that is also combined with American ginseng. I personally think it’s really overpriced.

I was visiting New York and went here after lunch. We wanted a place where we could sit down and a place that had AC. It was a cool atmosphere, clean and tidy. It also had a lot of flavors and styles to choose from, which is always great.

Very good Bubble Tea!!! Clean and friendly staff too. Highly recommend. I will go back next time I’m in Chinatown. There are so many great Bubble Teas to pick from its hard to choose just one.

I love a hot summer night in Manhattan drinking a taro shaved ice.(A cold Spring night comes in a close second.)

Its impossible to pass by without getting an almond or taro slush. It could be a bubbles day or I could leave them for next time. All depends on my mood. They make them with such a creamy and even consistency, almost like an ice cream. So refreshing and not sugary is what makes this spot my fave for asian slushies.

This is the shop adjacent to Ten Ren Tea Time, where you buy teas&cups to take home as opposed to ordering something for drinking in the moment. It’s not the bubble tea shop next door with the same name. I didn’t have the best experience… Lily is the most aggressive salesperson I’ve encountered before. Last night, she huffed, tapped her feet, and stared at me and my two friends, loudly sighing as we pondered with each other for only a few minutes about which pot to buy. We three were the only people in the store and it wasn’t nearing closing time. It’s as though customers are expected to know what the store sells and know exactly what they want to buy before even entering the store. They sold nice things, but without being given the chance to the explore the selection, how can one decide to buy something?

First time trying Ten Ren after passing it a million times, but always deciding to go for Kung Fu tea or something. I have to say, maybe I got the wrong thing, but I was totally not impressed. It was a cold day outside, so I went for a hot drink — green milk tea sweetened with black Japanese sugar. Yuck. It was made with matcha powder instead of what I thought was going to be green tea leaves — I feel like they should specify. It was so gritty and left a pretty nasty aftertaste in my mouth. I usually really like the Japanese black sugar, but perhaps it just did not go with this matcha«latte». I’m willing to give Ten Ren another chance for maybe their other teas or milk teas, but this first time just didn’t give off the right impression.

Good tea here seems like a healthier option than most of the other places. Their tea is less sweet doesn’t have that artificial taste that most places do and they have a cute little shop nice for chatting with a friend.

I stopped in with a group of friends after my cousin recommended it and I tried the Jasmine Bubble Tea. Since they are known for their teas, I expected their tea drinks to be exceptional but it was not bad. I expected the jasmine tea to be a little stronger(a bit too subtle in my opinion). BUT their bubbles are exceptional! They had just the right amount of chewiness and sweetness.

Wow! So awesome going into Ten Ren and the drinks are not half full of ice. The flavor of the teas are consistent from west coast to east coast! Yay for Ten Ren in my book!

This place is not my cup of tea. If you prefer a stronger tea taste for your milk tea then this is your place. Pros: –this location actually has seating in the back so it could be a nice quiet place to chill with a friend –the service was friendly and fast –they offer a diverse range of milk teas(I should try the one with a more milky flavor next or maybe a milk tea slushy) –they have this in Taipei so you know it’s legit! Cons: –their regular milk tea has more of a tea flavor. I prefer my milk tea to be more milky and sweet so this wasn’t my favorite(but at least that means less calories! I think) –their regular drink size seems to be smaller than other places(I believe it was a 12oz) but with the same price This is a nice bubble tea place but I just have a particular preference for a strong milky taste.
