Wonderful wonderful wonderful! I live in the neighborhood and walked by so many times but never thought of trying. The restaurant week menu was awesome with good taste and generous portion. Like other reviews the fusion of Spanish and Asian turn out very good. Love the mushroom dumplings and the dessert! Would highly recommend it. Just a small note that if you like quieter space ask for a table in the back! And the food is slightly salty but it is still very good! Look forward to the next meal here!

Delicious place by Union Square! The dumpling preparations were interesting and filled with intense flavors. The combinations all made sense on the plate with influences from both Iberia and Asia(mostly Chinese). Definitely try the kale salads and paellas. Will definitely be back, plus has a great vibe with tasty cocktails and intriguing wine list with Portugese options.

I came here for brunch. The menu was different from what’s listed on their website. They also have a special menu of the day: Lemongrass, ginger fizz: ginger, soda, candied ginger. It’s a non alcoholic drink. Crab rice roll with black pepper sauce: at first, I thought it was a sushi roll with rice in it, but it’s rice and lettuce wrapped over fried crab, cream, chayote, carrots. There’s no rice in the roll, which is even better. The sauce makes it peppery spicy. While waiting for the main dish, they brought me a complimentary tortilla espanola from the bar(chard, eggs, potatoes). I always wanted to try this dish! Thank you for the free food! :D Eggs and potatoes: poached eggs benedict with potatoes, aioli. It’s 2 poached eggs over homemade ketchup flavored potato chips. I hadn’t had potato chips in a long time. They were crispy and the seasoning was good. I liked it. Chocolate bomb: passion fruit mousse, raspberry and mango crumble. After all these food, I can’t believe that I ordered a dessert. It’s a show. The waiter brings the edible bomb. Then, he pours in a warm chocolate sauce over it, and it melts the shell, revealing a passion fruit mousse. It’s one of those dessert you’ll want to share. It has chunks of chocolate fudge, and I thought I was going to die of a sugar overdose. But the fruitiness of the passion fruit, the raspberry and the mango, made it easier to eat. I really liked the chocolate ball, there was something crispy about it, like wafers. Maybe it’s the raspberry and mango crumble. The service was good. The restaurant was nearly empty when I walked in, but then it became fully packed when I left. Which means it’s a good place for brunch. They have tables for large groups of people.

Many good choices on the menu that combine Chinese and Spanish flavors and dishes. We had the cauliflower, two different dumplings(woodland and oh happy day), ceviche, and the paella, all of which were very delicious. We enjoyed the interesting and eclectic décor, and most of all, we were very pleased with the wine selection and attention of the sommelier.

Just had dinner at Tasca Chino. How does nobody know about this place yet!!! We were just looking for a good happy hour spot, but wound up staying for dinner. Had great cocktails from Peter the bartender(try the Uva Roja), we tried 4 different kinds of dumplings, each one literally better than the next. Then the branzino. Was excellent. Great place

Came to New York on vacation and was recommended to stop by here for dinner one of the nights… I was not disappointed! New York is known for its great food, this place was just as good. The service was what set this place apart! Great servers who really know their food and care about their customers.

Delicious! My boyfriend and I went for some appetizers and cocktails. We got a couple of items, and a couple of drinks… everything was so yummy. We were served quickly, and even though we finished pretty fast we decided to stay for drinks. Service was also great… and I really like the décor. :)

It’s a shame I have to give them a 3-star rating. I LOVE their food. The décor is perfect for its theme. But I’ve experienced one of the slowest and inattentive service in a nice place like this. First the goods — FOOD — Patata Bravas: It was great. I love the sauce! — Gambas Negras: It was solid, can do better if the shrimp absorb the sauce better — Albodiga Spanish Meatballs: A lot of Unilocalers love it, I am just ok. Because it tasted really normal — Sea Safari Dumplings: My favourite of the night!!! Just speechless… — Pork Belly: Solid, I didn’t know it came in pork buns form — Baby back ribs: love the ribs and the portion is pretty generous. I also like the rice, it has an asian kick to it. — Paella de Matador: LOVE it! The rice was very tasty and so as the seafood. I had Paella de Malayo before and it was equally great — Chocolate Bomb: It was one of the desserts we had that worth mentioning. Definitely order this if you are going for dessert. I love the mix of passion fruit with the chocolate The service was super slow. I wonder what’s the hold up for. It was half-empty when we were there, but we waited at least 15 min until the waiter come back for our drinks order Then we waited at least 25 min for our appetizer to show up. In between, when I need something, I had to get the busboy at the end because our waiter was hard to locate. They took our dish away very quickly at the end even we weren’t finished! Very unprofessional. I saw the manager keep pointing at our table because they want to seat another 6-people at our table. I guess that’s when the rush come along. If you want us out early, how about being on point with the speed in the beginning? I won’t be surprised if this place become a 4-star + restaurant if it better its service. I have to mention although the service was slow, the waiter was very nice to us.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Great cocktails and food. They took a long time to get food and comped dessert for us, but it wasn’t particularly good.

Came here the other night, and our experience was incredible. Service was attentive and warm and our food was DELICIOUS. We had a huge appetite for appetizers — most mentionable were: –Spanish meatballs(tender and perfectly seasoned) –Wild mushroom/truffle dumplings and edamame dumplings(juicy and flavorful) –La mojadura dips(had us licking the plate), and the bread it came with can definitely stand on its own. For entrees, my friends had the steak and yakisoba noodles, vegetable paella, and pork belly. Nothing but high praises! They absolutely loved every bite. I went with the Chinese baby back ribs. PERFECTION. The ribs were so tender and had all the right flavors. The miso cole slaw that comes on the side is easily one of the tastiest things I’ve ever had. The very little room we had for dessert was taken by the chocolate bomb — talk about dinner and a show! Bottom line, our whole experience was fantastic. Flavors are well thought out, service was outstanding.

I wanted to love this place. It’s in my neighborhood. It had a great welcoming décor and the staff members were reasonably nice. The one problem is that when one attends a restaurant the goal is typically to have a great meal and this is where they fail miserably. We received raw chicken dumplings. Yes, raw chicken! The restaurant was barely busy which makes the oversight even more egregious. Against my better judgement, we stayed. The rest of the meal was only slightly less disgusting. Although the manager was not gracious enough to cover our meal, he seemed to be a genuinely nice guy. I hope he can inspire the owners to hire a new chef, revamp the menu and make good use of what is visually a great restaurant space and ambiance.

Delicious, great mood and service! We came in cold and hungry wanting to eat a good, hot meal and Tasca Chino DIDNOT disappoint! Not only we were seated and served right away, we started with some different tapas that were honestly incredible, followed by a perfectly cooked steak with yakisoba noodles, ribs and an impeccable paella. Tasca Chino excels at somehow serving you with fusion cuisine and comfort food at the same time — all of this in beautifully presented plates. The ambient was perfect and it could work for a friend outing as well as a date, it was very comfortable and amicable. I highly recommend any of their coctails as well. Will come back soon!

Newish Asian Spanish fused goodies. Tapas and nice bar menu. Service attentive and informative. Only issue was two of us shared and most came with three pieces. Nice décor and would go back.

Stopped for a happy hour cocktail — $ 7.00 — what’s not to love. Plus they have real tapas style snacks for $ 2.00 during happy hour. I had two kinds of bruschetta and some spiced cashews. Decent; good at the price. Bartender was nice enough. Bar area looks very nice; as is the rest of the restaurant. I may stop back.

The service here is patient and effective. But man, that’s about the best thing I could say about brunch here. The food, across-the-board, just wasn’t very good. We started with chicken dumplings(best of the bunch, firm skins with soft meaty filling, but still nothing all that great), meatballs(unpleasantly slick and greasy from the cheese), shishitos(limp and VERY sweet), and the patatas bravas(dry as a bone, but the salt and the aioli helped). Biggest problem was my catalan omelette, which really I can only assume was the catalan omelette, because it was served with essentially no filling at all. Some tiny(like, minuscule) shreds of ham, and some pats of congealed cheese without flavor. Just awful. My girlfriend’s poached eggs in blue corn«nests»(aka tortillas, apparently) were not much better. The best thing on the table looked like my dad’s French toast, which came out as an enormous cube of bread topped with a few small pieces of fruit, but turned out to be extremely soft and flavorful with a crunchy coating. They also commit the cardinal sin of serving really bad and burned-tasting coffee. Place was almost completely empty, and I can understand why. Staff was super friendly, but the kitchen isn’t giving them much to work with, unfortunately.

I am not very fond of the cuisine because the fusion doesn’t seem to be pleasing to me, I was disappointed to order the shisito pepper which they added a syrup-smoky tea mixture made with honey as a dressing. I don’t like a sweet shisito pepper. I don’t need more sugar added to my dish. The shrimp dimsum was also disappointing. The mushroom with truffle was the only one that worked. I had the churros with chocolate for dessert. That was nice and crisp outside but a little to soft in the center. I think if they make it thinner, the churros would be crisp like the ones I ate in Madrid. I don’t need the ice cream — hence maybe they could charge less for plain churros and chocolate. The ambience was fine especially the day I went. They had opened the large doors so it was like eating outdoors.

Had a great girl’s night out dinner! The restaurant is surprisingly big and laid out well, with its hip, trendy(and admittedly gaudy) décor. My friends and I were warmly welcomed by our server, who was on top of things the entire night and would stop by occasionally to chat and crack jokes with us. I enjoy Asian fusion, as long as I know going into it that it’s Asian fusion. We ordered the following items to share: 1) Sea Urchin & Caviar Spoon — Points for presentation! These were delicious little spoonfuls of creamy rich indulgence. I was wanting there to be a little more uni, but when do I ever not want more uni? 2) Beet Salad with Goat cheese croquettes — So refreshing and light! The fried goat cheese balls were surprisingly delicate and made a nice contrast to the tangy beets. 3) Patatas Bravas — The potatoes came in a cute little crock and with the aioli in its own dipping cup, instead of drizzled over the way this dish is usually served. Also cute presentation, but I felt the potatoes were a little dry and overcooked. 5) Teriyaki Marinated Octopus — Really great flavors with the garlic and kimchi, and the octopus was really tender. Not sure I got a «teriyaki» flavor from the dish, but it was good. 6) Paella De Tierra — Pack a paella full of chorizo, pork, lamb and I’m going to love it. The rice was properly crispy on the bottom, although possibly a little too crispy, but this dish overall was delicious. 7) Crema Catalana — Desserts are always a must with our group! This was an amazing dessert and we raved about the wonderful textures and flavors of the crema with the wasabi, banana, crispy rice, and cinnamon ice cream! Very inventive and enjoyable. 8) Sorbets — Also did a quartet of sorbets with really interesting flavors, including White Chocolate Miso, Jalapeño-Avocado, Meyer Lemon, and Jasmine Green Tea. Some flavors we liked better than others, but no complaints on this dessert! Portions are on the smaller side and prices are on the higher side, so consider yourself warned. Of course, if you order a crapload of dishes like we did, you only have to deal with the second part of that warning.

Summary: This new restaurant in midtown east fails to impress. A bit gaudy and lackluster. Too expensive for what it is. Not sure it will be around in a year… The Atmosphere: Pretty gaudy feeling here. The clientele was a weird mixture of bridge-and-tunnel tourists, people on dates, and others strolled off the street. It tries very hard to be upscale but fails to deliver on multiple levels. It was also fairly empty for a Saturday night out, strange.(1⁄5) The Food: Pretty disappointing. The taste of each dish was fairly bland. We had the dumplings which tasted like frozen ones you get from Costco. We ordered a side salad but were greeted by a behemoth dish. Each dish was pretty lackluster and overpriced for quality that we got. This may be okay in the suburbs but not in Manhattan.(2⁄5) The Service: The waitstaff were friendly enough but didn’t know much about the dishes served and couldn’t make any recommendations. This is major points off. There were also way too many staff. I think this restaurant could cut half the staff and still be okay as most of them were standing around doing nothing.(2⁄5) Tip: I wouldn’t go back here for a while. Maybe they haven’t hit their stride yet. But if they didn’t hit the ground running upon opening, will they ever?

Considering this is an Asian Fusion spot on Park Avenue replacing Sushi Samba, it’s pleasantly surprising. It’s a little too pricey for what you get though, and most of the dishes aren’t really spectacular. Like most Asian Fusion restaurants, this one will piss off most Chinese people and Spanish people(e.g. the Dan Dan Noodles don’t even come close to resembling Dan Dan Noodles). It’s got the same swanky feel as Sushi Samba and those types of restaurants, and is a nice atmosphere with great service. Most importantly though, on to the food: — Complimentary bread Off to a great start, the free bread to start was actually quite good. They give you three rolls, one cheesy and a few with seeds, all slightly warm and very soft. — Duck & Curry Dumplings($ 8 for 4) From the dim sum section, these were actually quite good too. They have a large selection of 10 different types of dumplings, so definitely start with at least one order of them. — Patatas Bravas($ 8) These were just ok. Very standard version that were actually a little on the dry side and desperately needed the sichuan pepper aioli. — Coco de Pollo & Chorizo($ 15) From the appetizers section, the flatbread was pretty delicious. The bread itself was cracker thin and not particularly good for flatbread, but the manchego cheese and chinese sausage on top were delicious enough to disregard that deficiency. — Szechwan Dan Dan Noodles($ 22) This dish would have probably seemed better if it wasn’t called«Dan Dan Noodles» since it’s nearly three times the price of Dan Dan Noodles at most of the best places in NYC, and it in no way resembles Dan Dan Noodles other than the fact that it contains noodles. There’s a good amount of juicy lamb in the bowl which is pretty tasty, but the noodles themselves aren’t particularly memorable. — Clay Pots Chinese Rice($ 22) Loaded with chicken, chinese sausage, bacon, bok choy, ginger and a fried egg on top, this was probably the best thing we had. It was quite tasty, and similar to what you get with paella, the rice at the bottom of the sizzling clay pot became very crispy as it sat cooking at the table. Much like the noodles though, this is shockingly pricey compared to a much larger, better fried rice at a standard Chinese restaurant. — Chicken Two Ways($ 26) For our single entrée we went with the Chicken, which consisted of two pieces of fried drumettes and five pieces of poached white meat. The meat was all nice and juicy, but the glaze was overwhelmingly sweet. The broccoli rabe was also surprisingly salty, but the cashew purée underneath it all was a welcome, unique taste. — Chocolate Fondue($ 12) The desserts were both pretty delicious. The chocolate fondue was not so much a fondue as it consisted of just a little ramekin of the chocolate sauce. For dipping, the super light and crispy churros and the three mini alfajores were delicious. It also came with a few pieces of dragon fruit and blackberries, which were not as interesting obviously. There was also a small scoop of red bean ice cream which was a very refreshing complement to the hot, fried churros. — Dark Chocolate & White Miso Cake($ 12) This dessert was even better. The cake was quite rich and chocolatey and went surprisingly well with the bizarre-sounding Jalapeño-Avocado Sorbet. Service was very good throughout the night. It got pretty busy, but they were still on top of everything. The food wasn’t quite good enough to justify the prices, but if you are looking for a nice place for a group dinner you could do a lot worse in this area.
