I purchased the Coffee Scrub, Body Butter and Hair Oil and I am in love with all three. My hair and skin have never been softer! I’ve used all sorts of expensive cosmetics in the past and they can’t hold a candle to the Taproot Organics products. I’m not sure what else to say? This place is wonderful.

I’ve seen Taproots all around Jersey City and finally bought a few things this past weekend at Project Eats. The owner was chatting with me about his products and was very down to earth and knowledgeable. He wasn’t trying to sell me stuff like most people and was very proud of his product which is amazing! I left with the lavendar deodorant and the coffee scrub. I haven’t tried the scrub yet but the deodorant is amazing! It smells great and works! It has tapioca in it which may look a little weird but it comes on smooth and doesn’t leave a white residue like conventional deodorants. It was $ 10 and totally worth it. I can’t wait to use the coffee scrub. The container says it’s only good for 7 days but the owner said as long as you don’t stick your wet fingers in it and just use a spoon to take the scrub out, it should last much longer. Can’t wait to try more of their products.

Got a chance to try some of the organic skin care products during the Jersey City Project fair in December. I believe they are at the Grove Street path regularly also during the week(check their facebook and website). Daniel was a very nice guy who was passionate about the products. They sell some of the best smelling soaps and body creams. Also some interesting beard cream that I tried on the old crumb catcher. Smooth stuff! Everything is made in small batch using organic ingredients. Really enjoyed the smell of the ‘Ultimate’ scented cream balm and decided to buy a jar to take home. Daniel even said its good for the face and beard. The smell and quality are great and it’s nice to find a local to support.

I was always a shower gel gal until I get my hands on some Taproot soaps. I get my stash from the LIC/Astoria flea or their website in the winter. They make their soaps from scratch using top tier ingredients and will cut you fresh pieces off the long soap molds they have at the markets. All the soaps are great and I love all the lavender scented items. The body butters are incredibly rich — you only need a little bit and they work magic on your rougher areas. I’d also recommend the laundry soap. I use it to make my own laundry detergent(plus Borax and washing soda) and my clothes come out clean and smelling delicious.

Great stuff — small batch, organic, effective. He really knows his stuff. Loving the deodorant, shave bar, beard balm, and soaps. Definitely going to get more stuff from Taproot

I always thought the idea of handmade soap was quaint and rustic until I discovered Taproot Organics. The owners are totally community oriented and started first as an online business then extended out to the community by selling at local festivals and farmer’s markets. I met them in person(finally!) at the Sweet Spot Festival in Harlem. They are warm and helpful. I walked away with a bag full of soaps and quickly discovered my favorites(though they are all fantastic!) I have reordered from them several times since and each time my order has been handled in a way that makes me feel important as a customer. Taproot Organics really put their hearts into their product and you can tell. I love the variety of scents and the fact that the ingredients are organic makes it all the better. The body butter is incredible! It is smooth and buttery with a fresh light scent or no scent at all if you prefer. They also have sales every now and then where you can stock up on your supply. There are lots of handmade soaps out there but I know that Taproot Organics is passionate about making and selling quality products so I am loyal to them. Keep up the great work and look for my order soon!

These guys are fantastic! A small family owned business I first came across at the farmers market on Grove St. In JC that produces high quality soaps, creams and ointments. The owner/vendor/chef is a very personable, knowledgable, passionate about his product guy that will tailor your purchase to your needs. I use their joint therapy ointment every night on my torn ligaments in my shoulders and on my discombobulated knees. Wonderful, wonderful product! I don’t know how I lived without it. I know they vend at other markets in JC and also in NYC. Don’t miss them, you’ll be soooo glad you checked them out. Edit: Brick and Mortar Studio/Kitchen now open to the public select hours @ 511 Communipaw Ave. Check their hrs on social media.
