Tanya Kolesnik – Metropolitan Property Group

I have nothing but great things to say about Tanya. I found myself in a New York renting nightmare – needing to find a place, fast, because of a breakup. She immediately found me an affordable studio in the Upper East Side that’s dog friendly. If you’ve ever apartment hunted in the city with a price limit and a large dog, you’ll appreciate that. It seemed impossible, but Tanya did it. I was moved in within the week, and couldn’t be happier with my place.
Apartment hunting, gathering paperwork and signing a lease is confusing and stressful, but Tanya helped me every step of the way and walked me through all of the nuances that make the process difficult. She never had that attitude most brokers have of «Why don’t you understand this detail that I never explained to you because I expected you to have previous knowledge of?» She even brought me an iced coffee to one of our meetings – it’s the little things. Tanya has endless energy, is so friendly and was never pushy. She just genuinely wanted to help me find a great place to live. Definitely seek her out the next time you’re renting. She’s a keeper!

You are in the best of hands with Tanya and MPG if you are in need of a new NYC abode. Home hunting in Manhattan was no easy task UNTIL I worked with Tanya Kolesnik. She was a delight to collaborate with; listened kindly to everything I asked for and then delivered above and beyond on what I requested. She was punctual to our meetings and never wasted any of my time. Persistent, excellent follow-​up, and was completely pleasant and helpful throughout the otherwise daunting process of searching for and acquiring a new apartment in Manhattan. In my most recent move I was operating under a very tight deadline to relocate and she was able to accomplish in ONE DAY the task of finding and securing a place that fulfilled all my parameters and wishes. In addition to her success at following through on all I taxed her with, she was perpetually charming and polite, making her even more a pleasure to work with. She is a great reflection of her company, the Metropolitan Property Group… I also had the support of her colleague, Rachelle Shapiro and her manager, Jonathan Tauzowicz while we were finalizing my lease and they too provided me with excellent service and treatment. I’m a born and raised NY who is no stranger to the challenge of navigating Manhattan realty and its unique breed of brokers; it is an understatement to say Tanya and her team outshine their competitors. She is quite simply THE BEST.

I was moving to NY after a 1 year sting in LA and was a bit nervous since the prices have somewhat fattened up since my last NY lease. I contacted Tanya about a 1 bedroom that she was advertising on Padmapper along with a few other brokers. Over the next few days I’ve been in touch with altogether maybe 20 brokers. Pretty much all them hearing I was out of town and only getting in in a few weeks refused to work with me or were very rude and gave offhanded answers to my questions or requests for images or cross-​streets basic information that a person would need in making a decision. Some plain hung up. Some told me to get back to them when I was actually here and looking. Tanya on the other hand took quite some time to chat with me really getting to the bottom of what I was looking for from the obvious area and budget up to the little details that would make my «perfect home». She was very sweet and had a quirky phone personality VERY VERY different from other brokers that at least I have come in contact with in the past. She promised to have a good list for me once I was in town to view the properties and in the meantime she would keep an eye out on something special.
This was 3 weeks prior to my coming to NY. For this ENTIRE time she sent me little updates every few days of new availabilities and places I might like. She also sifted through whatever random ads I found online and sent her way (from CL and Padmapper) most of which were either incorrectly priced or bait-​and-​switch ads … surprise surprise. Long story short not to bore everyone here, 2 days before my coming to the city she called me and demanded that I turn on FaceTime because I just ABSOLUTELY HAD TO SEE MY NEW HOME! No kidding! To say that it was perfect would be an understatement. It had all those little seemingly insignificant details that she took note of during our long phone conversation and then found in my new home. I couldn’t be happier. I would recommend Tanya to everyone and would myself never use anyone but her!

I was referred to Tanya through a friend who rented from her in the past. She’s very knowledgable and a pleasure to work with. She found me a one bedroom on UWS. Top notch experience overall.
